    Hi friends! (update...)
    I decided to recreate this video using it as a REGULAR STYLING GEL after reading so many of your comments saying I wasn't using it how I was supposed to! This video was meant to be an experiment to see what would happen when using it as a treatment, but I thought it was only fair to try styling my hair with it as well. Hope you enjoy!
    WATCH ME MAKE AND USE FLAXSEED GEL AS REGULAR GEL IN THIS UPDATED VIDEO:

    p.s - thank you so much for getting this video to over 70,000 views. I'm in shock!!!! 💖

    It's dry because you wash your hair every day and strip it out of natural oils. It does nothing but wonders for my hair, but I only use it every time I wash it, which is mostly once a week. After applying the gel I coat it with olive oil to prevent it from drying too fast and cover then leave it for as long as I can, an hour is fine, but I like 3-4 hours. My hair is the shiniest and softest after

    My hair used to look like yours, 6 months of finger coiling turned my untrained curls to naturally bouncing now without me doing a thing. Being patient and suffering through the awkward stage. Train those curls like a muscle and they will snap up for you in shape!

    • @EmmtheOriginallyLegal1andOnly
      @EmmtheOriginallyLegal1andOnly Před 2 lety +10

      Currently in THIS phase. Everytime I wash my hair I'm seeing new curl clumps. My curl clumps were the size of a barreled curl before, now they're starting to split up into more manageable clumps that don't wave out or frizzle away after wash.
      Also, get a haircut. It doesn't mean loosing all your length, but sometimes a new haircut is all it takes to refresh your proper curl texture. The top of your curl honestly can't perform well without healthy ends. Bad ends create a bit of a light strand-knot and all of that tangling really drags your curls down and deforms them from top to bottom.

My favorite way to use flaxseed gel is to style my curls rather than as a wash out treatment. It really protects & grows curls like no other. The crunch is super normal, you just have to scrunch it out with a little bit of oil rubbed between your hands and your hair will be soft, defined and full 😍

    You should put some oils instead of using only gel e.g olive oil coconut oil or yogurt as gel is water based so it can't nourish frizz. Mix gel with oil or yogurt or coconut cream and use it as hair mask twice a week and you will see the result eventually. Only 5 days are not enough. Should wait atleast month with any homemade remedies.

    Its best to do a deep conditioning with flaxseed, you'll get a better result eating them in salads. A small amount can be used as a protein pack. Not for everyday use 😗 in fact it's used as a furniture cleaner on wood hint hint linseed oil, so it probably dried out your hair.

    You should always be putting a leave in conditioner at the very least before applying. I put that in and a curl crème then apply my flax seed gel after. The order you put your products in MATTERS. You need to seal the water in your hair instead of waiting when it’s dry. That prob has a lot to do with why your hair continues to dry out. Your shaft is already closed. I have been using this method for years. My hair absolutely loves it and looks amazing. I haven’t used it in the last two months because I was trying some other things but boy am I missing it! Your hair is high porosity so make sure to put moisture in your hair every time you wash it.

    I use it as a leave in conditioner. I wash my hair leave and leave out the conditioner. I dry my hair with a T shirt, and then lather the gel all through my hair scrunching it in, and I do not rinse it out. When it dries my curls are somewhat stiff but crunching all through my hair it breaks the seal and becomes soft and curly. I think the secret is to not wash the gel out. It needs to stay in and dry. I absolutely love that stuff. It does give a lot of volume but amazing defined curls to my normally dry and frizzy hair.

    Hello! OMG you really do have gorgeous hair!! I think the reason why you didn't have the results you were expecting is because putting protein in your hair everyday is not a good thing and can actually be damaging (dry them out). I think you should recreate the experiment but doing it only once a week and making sure that you mosturize your hair in between. ;) Yeah, I think I would try it for sure. Having to dealt with a lot of hair loss and an itchy and dry scalp for a couple of years now, I feel this treatment could really help. Thanks for the share!

I do this once a week, because I like to also apply the Aloe Vera gel treatment at least once a week it has help in growth and healthiness. I wash my hair after with vinegar shampoo or royal jelly shampoo at least twice to remove all the gel off . I don't use conditioner and I have definitely seen results these pass 2 months after Covid. For daily use I think is too much since I have thin hair. This looks like a good idea, but I would include an egg and coconut oil to this recipe.🌹 I use an inexpensive pair of hair thinning shears from the dollar tree. I pull up a layer of hair and put the shears at the scalp to thin my thick frizzy hair. My hair is more manageable to style on med heat and I use a t shirt instead of a towel to dry my hair. It makes my hair less frizzy.🌹

This is not going to give you some extra benefits just because you kept it overnight instead 30-40 mins.Girl, you can get extreme headache , sinuses, chills because of the coldness and heaviness. May be not initially but as you kept for such a longer time for few more times you can have the issues I mentioned above. So I recommend you to keep the hair pack for 30_40 hours and wash it off. Just scrunch, leave hair alone while it dries out, after 100% dry, scrunch out the gel with your favorite light oil. You will have moisturized , defined and beautiful curly hair!!

    Just a FYI hair follicle are dead from the moment it grows so no amount of anti-inflammatory would revive it. It’s probably the protein in flax seed that reacts with the protein in the hair. Also is quite possible that all this washing even without shampoo is just taking the natural oil from your hair so a once a week treatment would be a lot more beneficial.

    • @stylebyariel
      @stylebyariel  Před 3 lety +2

      I don’t know how many times I have to say it- it was an experiment. Just for fun. I’m aware it’s high in protein and though I didn’t address it in the video, I’ve addressed it in other comments. Also, I’m a hairstylist and I understand the basics of hair. FYI.

    I buy either Finesse or Pantene Conditioner. I'll wash my hair then apply a decent amount of conditioner on my hair. Starting at the top of my head and working my fingers through my hair down to the ends making sure that my hair is completely coated and tangle free. Then I put my head down and, working from the ends I scrunch my hair towards my scalp. I will scrunch it and let it go and scrunch the same section two or three times. I always keep enough conditioner in my hair that I can hear a squishing sound as I scrunch (If I don't hear a squishing sound, I add more conditioner). I don't rinse it out unless I put way too much. It's a balancing act and it takes some time to learn how much is the right amount. Too much conditioner and your hair will feel heavy and too little conditioner and you will get frizz with no definition. Once my hair is dry, I'll put some Proclaim Olive Oil Glossing Polish (about a quarter size amount) and lightly scrunch again to apply it. Your hair will smell great, look shiny and your curls will look so good! Sally's Beauty Supply sells the Glossing Polish and their price is lower than Amazon.

    I would like to ask, do you feel your hair was softer from using the flax seed gel?
    And what about maybe leaving it in for only 15 mins, then just rinsing it out (cool water) then 1) letting your hair air dry for the day; Mark the results compared to then on another day
    2) after rinsing it out, lightly towel dry your hair, finger style your hair then go.
    Compare the 2 ways & mark your results.
