Former Chronicle sportswriter (now KNBR morning-drive host) Brian Murphy wrote a book titled "From Kezar to Levi's". Also, Chronicle sportswriter (and former (1981-98) KPIX producer) Steve Kroner wrote about the last game at Kezar (in January 1971) on its 30th anniversary in January 2001
@@mayhemjr.803 Ah! Great you should mention about the parking and traffic, as I can imagine a sizable portion of the residential neighborhood surrounding Kezar were glad the 49ers left.
@@bloqk16 I don't know about that. I was only two years old when the Niners played thier last game at Kezar. I did hear many residents charged fans for parking in thier driveways, so maybe some were kind of sad they moved to Candlestick Park
@@mayhemjr.803 Well, that's not a problem at Giants games, since most fans take Caltrain, the Muni, or a ferry, or even BART and walk down the Embarcadero. Driving is not necessary.
In a way of kinda pity reporter Wilson Walker of KPIX, as I can imagine he is often-asked if he is related to legendary former KPIX sports anchor, the late Wayne Walker.
I have to laugh at the 'what's left of it.' It's a whole new stadium, with way less seating. The really big change is that the new park is parallel to Lincoln Way. The old Kezar was not, so there was less seating in the southeast part because the street cut into the stadium. If the 49ers return to SF, the place to build a new stadium wouldn't be too far away from Candlestick: that industrial waste land between 101 and the old Bayshore Highway just south of the SF border with Daly City, and not far from the Cow Palace.
It's so cool that around 5,000 seats of the old Candlestick Park where install in Kezar Stadium
I'm a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan. I hated it when the 49ers moved out of Kezar Stadium. R.I.P. NFL🏈
No offense but you must be quite old🤔
Considering the rivalry between the two teams, your comment is most appreciated by me, a San Francisco Bay Area native.
I miss the Stick and can only imagine how nostalgic it was for the fans that attended games there.
I bet the players were thinking the weather is so great than that hot ass stadium they got at bandwagon central.
49ers should play a Preseason game there
That would be cool if logistically they could pull it off.
They could do that at Oracle. They could play at least one home game at Oracle, to make the SF legit on their helmets.

Was moving back to a new stadium at Kezar site even discussed when the 49ers made plans to leave Candlestick?
The parking and traffic would be a NIGHTMARE of biblical proportions.

I ran there with my class

The 49ers moved 49 miles from SF.
I think it's more like 44.
😂😂😂😂

Haha i like how the old guy said the new 49ers owners left San Francisco cuz they are just chasing a buck 😂 so true
