3 Legged Thing tripod is about the biggest piece of hot garbage I've ever owned. I have a very solid Bogen Manfrotto 3221 that is effectively a battleship. I bought the 3 Legged Thing (3LT) tripod as a relatively lightweight and budget friendly option to take overlanding and backpacking.
I use a Canon R5 and moderate lenses. The 3LT tripod I bought was DOUBLE the weight rating of my kit. The tripod failed to securely hold the camera still, and 'settled' downwards at a fast enough rate to get noticeable blur with a 10 sec exposure. I thought the longer lens with its own show would be better due to more centered weight distribution but it was not.
Determining longer than 10 sec exposure was not high in my use cases, I gave it a chance on a trip. On the very first hike, two of the feet unscrewed themselves somewhere on the trail and fell off. Its in-field use belied the home testing I did: the camera settles over time making shot composition more difficult. Instead of composing the shot and then awaiting the lighting and other environmental characteristics I wanted to make an exposure of, my time was used constantly adjusting the camera to my desired composition.
    Hot garbage.
