    Very nice, I was somewhat expecting some stupid things that is common on this kind of instruction videos but this is first class quality advice from reality and for a true reason based on real experience!

    I'm just now learning about freediving fins and how to choose them and how to care for them. I learned a lot from you today. I'm sure it will help me extend the life of the fins I purchase. Thanks

    I have underwaterrubgy fins that are carbon fiber now. Kinda prefer it to fiberglass and I am at a high enough level that I kinda do need it now. We cant fully avoid the groundscratching but for example you have to learn to push of the wall with your foot and not your blade. I know they wont last forever but thats ok, if they last like a year thats still good value

    Carbon fibre or fibreglas do not get brittle in UV exposure, but the matrix does (the plastic used to hold the fibres in place). But otherwise good advice.

    I would add that you can apply car vinyl partially (bottom part of finns) or on both side to protect from coral scratches

    What about the fiberglass?? Aren't they more durable??

  • @roarfiercefemininerisingma9607

    I’m new to freediving, I was told not to let the fins be dry for too long, that there was an oil you can use on the foot pocket. Is this correct? Do you know what kind of oil if so?

    These fins are high quality Greek fins, so no matter how hard or stupid you use them, they will not crack or break.

    How do i properly store my fins inside the fins bag? Should i put it one side laying down and one side laying up (foot pockets in both ends) ? Or both foot pockets on the same side? Thanks

    What glue do you recommend to be used? the railings of my fins started to separate and I cant find any useful glue to fix it.

    • @kadebaitrum7797
      @kadebaitrum7797 Před 3 lety +1

      loctite or basic cyanoacylate superglue you can aslo get loctite powerflex which is a bit more expensive than regular glue but its rubber infused and its flexible works very well

    do carbon fins crack on rocks? because i am normally shore diving

    • @NautilusSpearfishing
      @NautilusSpearfishing  Před 7 lety +1

      They are very tough but would avoid walking over rocks with them... over time can likely be a problem or if a surge catches you and the fins gets stuck in between the rocks can be very bad

    • @aitorjara100
      @aitorjara100 Před 5 lety +2

      Because why not walking around with a $300 carbon fins in the rocks right? R.I.P common sense

    There is a crack along the railings in my carbon blade. Is there anything that can stop the crack from extending? The fin is 6 years old

    • @NautilusSpearfishing
      @NautilusSpearfishing  Před 4 lety

      6 years is a long time for carbon fins.... Use them until they die, and get yourself a new pair

    • @judeet2595
      @judeet2595 Před 4 lety

      @@NautilusSpearfishing hi,until they die means until the fin spilts? I saw in forums someone's carbon even lasted 10 years.🤔 your video about the brushing motion is helpful so Im gonna do that to prolong the remaining life of the fin...

    • @NautilusSpearfishing
      @NautilusSpearfishing  Před 4 lety

      @@judeet2595 ;) no worries..... depends how often this person dove, did they only dive open water or rocks??.... many factors. I know some guys who dive 3 times a week and in a year they will need new ones.
