    Can't believe the reaction to his drop. Good luck for sure. The rough was extra juicy because of the sprinkler there.
    AND THEN he hits THAT shot. That needed more commentary. Aberg had less into the green from the fairway and knew he had to deliver. What guts Bob showed there.
    So chuffed for him. Especially as he uses our Leather grips on (some of) his irons 😀

    Before I say this….. I would have loved Adam Scott to have won….. but….. Your take on the drop is wrong. He did not uncover the sprinkler with his practice swing by chopping away grass. He felt it with his metal spikes under the toe end of his shoe during the practice swing. Then it was still under the heel of his foot when he addressed the ball. He just had a normal practice swing as anyone would have done to prepare for what grass of that thickness would feel like. I suggest you watch it through again and adjust your takes…..

      All situational things considered, Bob’s drop is allowed to feel super gross while being perfectly within the rules. That’s what we have here. Moving on.

    The practice swing he took had no bearing on the stance he had to take to hit the ball. Soly’s argument makes no sense at all. The guy’s buddy Jordan Spieth is a ninja warrior in trying to take advantage of golf’s rules to benefit his position. Hope they are as critical of him next time he’s hitting it on the roof of a stand to get a better drop. Dry your eyes Soly

    If he had not discovered the sprinkler head at all there is also the possibility that no way would he have even attempted to play a shot given how bad the lie was . This was evidenced by the amount of grass he too with the practice swings.

    Is Keegan’s captaincy the
    all-time mea culpa from the PGA ? For the losses, the overlooks, and the tension between? He cares. He has scar tissue. He’s relevant. He’s experienced. He’s a winner.
    He’s exactly what the captain needs to be. They know it. So they spoke first. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Not a fan of Bob for obvious aesthetic issues but this is a historically bad take on the drop particularly from Soly. The practice swing revealed the sprinkler head which he subsequently felt under his spikes. The grass he removed was near where his stance was going to be, not where his ball was and therefore didn't improve his lie at all. Perhaps you can argue he was building a stance but that's a massive strech in my opinion. Shame that such bad take clouded the analysis of what was one the shots of the year and a great hometown story.

    Wow! Can you guys chill out? You’d think Bob is an evil, opportunistic scumbag the way you guys talk about him. This means EVERYTHING to him, and tbh it was one of the best tournament finishes I’ve seen all year. The outdated rules of golf punish players far more often than reward them, so let him have his moment. He earned it for 4 straight days

    • @LP-ox3nh
      @LP-ox3nh Před měsícem +3

      the amount of times they keep talking about where the practice swing was in relation to stance is insane if you watched the video. the Sprinkler was under his toe on the practice swing and under his heel when he readjusted his stance. So that would be a difference of 12 inches or so and would be impossible for the practice swing to be where his playing stance would be. Not complicated nor was it even slightly out of line. Almost as clear of a free relief situation you can have outside the sheer oddity of the location of the sprinkler… but that is the real “spirit of golf” lies are weird and sometimes you catch a break, other times you get get the break beat out of you.

The other tournament, the Scottish Open, I didn’t watch much of but it looked like an inferior course and way less interesting golf. Would have been great if the unification had already occurred and they were all at Valderrama.
