- Demo of a Fender Gold Leaf Eric Clapton Stratocaster, an electric guitar hand built by Fender Custom Shop Senior Master Builder Todd Krause in Corona/California (www.fender.com). The Gold Leaf Strat comes with a two-piece alder body covered with 24k gold leaf and a one-piece flamed maple neck including a maple fingerboard. The guitar is equipped with Fender Vintage Noiseless Strat pickups and has an active mid boost. The Gold Leaf Strat is a replica of the legendary guitar that was made for Eric Clapton in 1996. Clapton played his original Gold Leaf Strat during his 1997 european "Legends" tour as well as during shows in Montreux and in London’s Royal Albert Hall.
This very guitar is exclusively available at Musikhaus Hermann in Biberach an der Riss, Germany (www.musikhaus-...). In order to write a review for German guitar magazine "grand gtrs & basses" (www.grandguita... ) I had the opportunity to test and play this guitar at home. The recordings of this video were made with a Bogner Shiva 20th Anniversary amplifier. Two Shure KSM-27 microphones were placed in front of the amp.

Probably one of the best demos of a Clapton Strat that I've seen/heard. Did you engage the 25db boost for the dirty tones?
@@Jamesfoofighter Thank you Sir! No, I didn't use the 25dB boost here, to keep the signal level constant. For the dirty tones I switched to the lead channel of my Bogner amp. But the boost is a great feature, especially in a live situation! You can use it to get more volume and/or more saturation/distortion.
