    In my course, we are being taught to auscultate before we palpate regarding the abdominal assessment.

    • @arabellarose213
      @arabellarose213 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Inspect
      Auscultation
      Percussion
      Palpitations (last just in case they have pain)

    I thought we auscultate before palpation. Can you please clarify the logic of auscultate after palpation?

    • @rukkychuks6741
      @rukkychuks6741 Před 3 měsíci

      That’s an exception if you want to assess abdominal sounds. You ausculate before palpating and percussing

    is it IPPA or IAPP????? so confusing! other videos says it's IAPP! Palpation is the last procedure so that you can hear the true sound of what you are auscultating...

    • @Blaqueen4312
      @Blaqueen4312 Před rokem

      Good question! Because I was taught IAPP.

    • @crazy42501
      @crazy42501 Před rokem +3

      I believe only the abdominal quadrants need to be IAPP. You listen first before palpating. Everything else is IPPA.

    • @AlisonColvin
      @AlisonColvin Před rokem +1

      Hi! That is a great question and really important to know the difference. We do IAPP for abdomen ONLY (and palpation is last). IPPA is for the other body systems. I hope that helps!

    • @Saki_Ramen
      @Saki_Ramen Před 4 měsíci +1

      IAPP for Abdomen assessment cause you don’t wanna alter bowel sounds when you auscultate

    Too many Filipino Nurses in California because their Filipino Manager wants to hire their own nationality, They rejected black and mexican American so much bias from them. I hope American Nurses Association will take action for this injustice and racist case
