    NIce product and good price! I would recommend one video for those just installing the rear rack, and another for folks installing the rear and side racks. The install kit I got had parts for both options, which made it confusing. Also, the video does not tell you the side covers must be installed BEFORE the side racks, and that to remove the side covers later, the side rack must be loosened, but not removed - important to carry the tools to do that outside the bike somewhere. Finally, I had to shim the bolts for the side racks (with 3 washers) located toward the front of the racks as they were going in so far, they were impacting the air box - same with those that connect the side to top racks - 2 washers there to make room for the bolt on the underside.
    None of the bolts or parts are labeled, so this install could be challenging for those who are less mechanical.

    Your packaging department must be slacking pretty bad because the mounting brackets for the rack I received didn't have those little direction stickers on them. Luckily for me I do have common sense and figured them out easily.

    Those are some "rough" welds.
    I am sure it is strong...

    Do you also make side luggage racks for a 1996 xt 250? THANKS!

    Do y’all happen to know torque specs for the bolts and do you recommend a mild loctite? I’m worried about stripping the frame mounted bosses. Thanks for the video!

      I'm not PM Racks, but I recommend mid grade loctite. The blue stuff. There are almost zero situations where you're wrong do so, and many where it helps.
      Can't help ya on the torque thing

    So if you install this do you no longer have passenger pegs?

    I am looking to buy side racks for my Suzuki V-strom 650, I was curious as to the weight carrying capacity of the side racks. Thanks

      Rocky P weight capacities vary from bike to bike. Refer to your owners manual and bike specs. We recommend the DrySpec D20 saddles with our side racks. They are a 40L pair (20L per side) and attach well with a pair of 42” ROK Straps. Side racks, D20 and ROK Straps can be found at www.pmracks.com

    How much do the rear and side racks weigh?

      @AC-uf8ez Před 3 lety +1

      I was wondering the same and found the answer on the specifications tab on their website. 3 lbs for the rear rack and 2 lbs each for the side racks. 7 lbs total
