    Sam - another great informative video. I’ve looked at the Portable Power Station and defo the way forward albeit not cheap. Glad I went without the microwave - space more important for me and the hob does the job!

      Thanks Ian. For some people a microwave is a must, but I think for the majority of people the extra space is more valuable and it means you don't need to invest heavily into upgraded batteries and inverters etc. It's horses for courses like everything I suppose.

    Hi Sam - great, practical and helpful video.
    My main use of van power is to power the fridge - to keep milk, beers, etc, nice and cool. With a normal leisure battery and solar panel, but no hook up, will I be able to run the fridge constantly when on a summer trip?

      Thanks Chris. I should have mentioned the fridge situation in the video. The fridge, lights and USBs will work from the Leisure battery even if you’re not hooked up. The fringe will actually work even when the leisure battery is turned off as there is a constant trickle feed to it. This is suitable for most people outside of being hooked up

    If you want a small solution then consider Clayton Power. Also cheaper than a decent victron install. The problem with the eco flow power banks is you can't get the charge back into them unless you also get their solar panel kit which is also painfully slow. And they also take up loads of space.

      Thanks for your input Doug, your insight will be useful to people. There are other solutions to these problems, but the majority of our customers don't intend to do a huge amount of wild camping, so a standard leisure battery setup is usually enough, and no need to spend thousands on upgrading the electrics.

    I have 3 lots of 110ah Lithium eco tree batteries connected to a 3000 watt inverter and 2 dc to dc chargers and a 215w solar panel in my T6.1. Victron setup with a Cerbo GX. I can run air fryers and microwaves at the same time. But yes it cost me a fair bit of space and money. Its under the rear seats. When I drive the van they recharge my batteries at 800w plus solar. I have never had to use hookup since having this install. Never even had to plug in the van at home. Fridge on max the whole time. Don't have to use gas anymore. It's such a rip off and the campingaz 907 bottles are so small you have to constantly stress on running out.

    If a portable power bank works and it is a lithium battery and inverter. Why does normal lithium batteries and inverters not work? Am I missing something?

    Interesting video, how long would the fitted fridge work in the camper between charges?. Do you offer a gas fridge option?

    • @HighlifeCampersUK
      @HighlifeCampersUK  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi Rod. The leisure battery will last around 2-3 days without topping it up if you are just using the fridge, lights and USBs. But we would recommend driving the van for at least 20 mins a day to keep the battery topped up as you never want to completely drain the leisure battery.
