The series lost popularity in the West at the time. The dub started dubbing much later in the game series life cycle than the anime's rate in Japan, which made it even more susceptible to ending from lack of popularity. The original series started around the time Battls Network 3 was out, and the Advanced PET toy was released before the Axess anime was dubbed, but close to the release of the Battle Network 4 game. The Battle Network game series dropped on popularity by a lot around the BN6 era, and they were only just finishing the Axess dub around then.

I heard that the Japanese version of this was a lot darker so I believe that’s why
