Richard Epcar IS Raiden. Period. He was meant for this role. Nobody can do a better job at Raiden than him. I only hope to god they never replace him. PERIOD.
Richard Epcar hands down, no contest since he clearly is the best voice for Raiden and got better with each installment and on top of that if he got replaced it wouldn’t feel like Raiden anymore.
Richard Epcar, definitely! I met him at Ichibancon a few years ago. He signed my copy of mk9 and i chatted with him a bit and told him Raiden was my favorite character, he then randomly said "Thunder take you" in his voice. Really cool!!

Whoever the actor was for MK: Deadly Alliance, personally I liked that voice because it fit the character of Raiden so well. Raiden in that game felt like he commanded authority with that booming godly voice of his. Still, I like Richard Epcar as the voice of Raiden in the most recent games.
It's a shame dark raiden didn't get enough screen time for mk 11. His scenes we're one of my favourite, especially when good raiden is temporarily corrupted.
Deadly Alliance Raiden is my favorite voice, has this very otherworldly feeling to it. I respect Richard greatly, but I grew up with the 3D MK games, so that is my ideal voice.
My opinion has not changed from the old video, Richard Epcar remains the best Raiden. It helps that he is now the longest lasting VA for any character, surpassing all others. And he handled Dark Raiden at the end of MKX and the start of MK11 very well, drawing parallels between him and Injustice Superman. Only Clancy Brown and the unknown VA from Deadly Alliance (who might be Ron Perlman, it sounds sort of like him) come anywhere close to competing with Richard. The former because of the dry wit he brought to the role (even if it could make him sound bored) and the latter because it marked a transition for Raiden back from champion of the Elder Gods to sworn protector of Earthrealm. And for live action, only Christopher Lambert has ever managed to properly portray him. Jon Hey should also probably get a mention for Raiden's screams in the first two games, in all their meme worthy gibberish.
Richard is RAIDEN! He has that Godly type of voice that suits Raiden perfectly! His voice can be scary and intimidating as well! And it seems he's raidens permanent voice too. Hes been voicing him for 11 years now. Thats over a decade!
