How to Paint a Realistic Horse | Portrait Painting | Time-lapse Acrylic Painting

- In this video, I am going to show you how to paint a realistic horse using #acrylics. Here I will show you the whole process of my painting starting from the under painting to the detailing section step by step. In the process of the painting I will try to share a few tips which you can apply in any animal portrait painting by simplifying the whole process into different segments so that, it becomes easier for you to understand. The whole painting process is divided into three basic stages which are mapping, structuring and detailing. Initially I started with a base tone of burnt sienna mixed with permanent orange to paint the whole drawing with a wash of that particular color in order to cover the white of the paper. Once this stage was done then I structured the whole painting with relatively loose brushstrokes to built the skeleton of the painting. Once this stage was completed then I started to take the smaller details under consideration and I also looked for the precise colors in the painting. The #realistic paintings are all about building layer upon layer and adding the different color variations in your painting to make it look more lifelike and realistic and this painting was also not an exception. Apart from these I have also shared some valuable tips on painting the different textures of the skin and the furs in order to make it look more realistic and believable. The animal portrait paintings are slightly different from the traditional #portrait painting of human face but with proper approach and techniques you can master the art of animal portrait painting as well.

I've been painting horses for years, but your work is stunning. The fine hairs on the horse, are they actual fine brush strokes or dots? Speed painting often just doesn't show how the brushstrokes are achieved. Also what sort of paper was it you used? Thankyou in anticipation for posting this amazing video.
