    For the first one, I'll go for bishop to g2 after opening up the square and for the second one I'll take with the knight because that feels safer to me

  • @darrylkassle361
    @darrylkassle361 Před 2 lety +2

    1~ would of moved to e4 hoping to open the position up more start an attack. I suppose I had the right idea but the wrong move to put that idea into effect
    2.~ I guessed correctly this time but it was only because I wanted to keep the knight on its square.
    Please GM SMIRNOV could you make this a a regular feature of the channel. Comparing the thinking of a GM to us amateurs really is an instructive tool.
    THANKS FOR THE EXCEPTIONAL VIDEO.

    Nice lesson

  • @vishnuprasadkr5541
    @vishnuprasadkr5541 Před rokem

    example 2 a takes b3 looks more intuitional you are capturing towards the centre its better than moves like c takes b3 because now you are not capturing towards the centre you are exposing your king on the c file you are giving black more attacking chances now black doesnt have to put extra effort to open up lines and the queen side looks very vulnerable and if n take b3 then your moving a piece twice and its a very nice centralised knight and you are losing a tempo which is a crucial factor in middlegames were opposite side castles occured and after a takes b3 if qh5 then white can simply play kh1 and white is doing great

  • @vishnuprasadkr5541
    @vishnuprasadkr5541 Před rokem

    first one i will play d5 advancing the pawn to gain space advantage and restricting black pieces mobility to move freely

    knight on b3 gets take taken by the knight on d4 because the pawns on abc file have a good structure.

    i would do pawn to e3, so i can give some breathing space to my bishop and give opportunity to castle and move the rook in position.

    I like Qf4, pawn e4, and pawn d5. I thought of Qg5… then Qe7 if castles, but that knight though. Dumb idea. I thought about Qh6?? AFTER Bc1, sacrificing and blowing up the king, but… then there’s my king… and I thought for a half second g3, but then …Bb2 means Rg1… but then I guess that makes g4 look really interesting, considering black’s precarious position… I don’t know. I would probably knee jerk reaction the pawn to d5 though… knowing that e4 is probably better for the bishop, but hey. I can do that in a minute, not to mention the double attack on the rook and f5 pawn if black were to take… of course black would probably just develop his bishop in response, but is it a good idea to get rid of the d7 pawn? He wants to castle… but he has no material support there yet… goodness. I would settle on pawn e4. It feels like the wisest move, his Queen has me feeling like it has too much freedom. And I need to get my pieces working if I’m going to attack anyway.

    My candidates #1 : g3, d5, h4, (bonus crazy candidate) O-O-O (or Rad1 in case if castling is unavailable)
    My candidates #2: I'm having a tough time on this one, Axb3 feels like it takes away a1 and even b1 from the king; Nxb3 feels like it loses progress; cxb3 feels like it leaves the c file wide-open, but with the cushion of having connected rooks, though Black's rooks + queen are connected. I lean toward Nxc3 for now I think, since I think Black can respond with either Qa5 or Ba4, and Nxc3 at least prevents both.
    (edit: I knew another option seemed better, argh). Thank for for the insight, GM Smirnov!
