I work on boats and I see this a lot from people who don't understand fully how carbon fiber/fiberglass works. When putting self tapping screws into a carbon fiber/fiberglass piece that has a gel coat, you always want to slightly counter sink the hole before tapping the screws into the glass. If you don't counter sink the holes then what happens is the slight pressure against the gel coat when you insert the screw will cause the gel coat to spider crack over time. No bueno. It looks like Calvin and Tj drilled the hole large enough so that the self tapper could just go right through the glass and into the plastic. Just keep in mind, if you are tapping into fiberglass and or carbon fiber, best to be on the side of caution!
A good way to help protect the carbon fiber where you cut it is to file/sand down the edges of the cut and paint over it with clear paint or clear nail polish. That'll help make sure the area where you cut doesn't start to fray over time as you drive it.

If I had that car, I wouldn't touch the outside. I always liked the stock look. only thing id probably do is new lights all around and maybe a nice carbon lip on the front. possibly a hood. its just a beautiful car itself, no need to change it

In order for the diffuser to work as designed, the entire under side of the car needs to be closed out with aerodynamic panels, otherwise this is what a typical rice boy does... we'll see if he will do it right and finish everything off the way it should be.
Gold heat tape would be nice to protect the diffuser on the side near the exhaust. I've seen bikes on hitch racks that have had their carbon wheels melted from hot exhaust. Definitely worth the precaution imo.
I just left cali, and my goal was to see tj and the rest of the hunt and crew gang, sure i could've drove around and try to find their shop. But out of respect to them i did not do so. It would've been an awesome start to my new year if i had the chance to meet them. One day I'll get the chance to meet my idols.🙏

always been on the fence about the shine diffuser. i think looks better with trd wing but still looks nice. Dont forget to get a billet tensioner while doing the work.
