@@theoneandonly8403 At the end of Deltarune chap 1, Toriel confirms that Asriel is a Yoshi main, so that's the only reason I can say that with any amount of certainty. Susie feels like a Ganondorf(who's actually pretty decent in Melee) player, while Kris prolly plays Mario because Mario is friends with Yoshi. None of those are confirmed though.

Actually, wavedashing is just an exploit, not a cheat, and is 100% intentional. We know this because Sakurai actually made some internet post a _long_ time ago actually describing how to do it, and one of the developers already confirmed that the team always knew it was possible.
Now, whether they anticipated it being used so heavily is another matter entirely.
