Theyyam,,padayani,,,bhootha kolam,,yaksha ganam are came from malla dynasty &their migration to south in 13th century,,actually the name karnataka derived from karnat dynasty(they have connection with malla dynasty),,you can see their art carving works in hampi&hoysala(their people never believe it😃),, etc etc ..lots of fun in history

No,,they belongs to theravada ....no mask dance in theravada..&are pure buddhists..buddhism reached in srilanka through asoka's time,,,,his grand dad was jain&india too...asoka was a half anatolian man ,mainly ruled in afghan&pak&later taken the charge of india( chandragupta resigned&moved to south,,chandragiri puzha name belongs to chandragupta)
