Five foot baguette and five or six bottles of wine? Well that does sound like a good Saturday afternoon to me.
A baguette and six bottles of wine? Sounds like a song title. 5-19-2024
After being subjected to a few years of War and malnourishment, you can't even begin to imagine what it must have felt like to get such a long baguette. There were still restrictions and they lasted into the beginning of the 50s...
The second World War ll,was in Europe until April 1945, many countries was occupied by Adolf Hitlers Germany, there was lack of food and what people appreciated in the daily life. The American's came and stopped the war, they was shocked about what they saw in the Consentration Camp's around in Europe. Europians hopes that Putin don't starts a war towards other countries here than Ukraine now... JazzyT.
It's FRANCE. She's getting breakfast!
Or maybe elevensies.
Excellent 😂
I have a like just for that baguette and wine.
Amen to that! 😂
Yeah I mean look at the size of that baguette, seems people used to eat more and fatten less those days..😂😂
Me tooo...cheese is missing
My father told me, I don't know if this is true but he was full of bits of information, that San Francisco knows exactly how many men it takes to paint the Golden Gate Bridge in a year. As soon as they're finished at one end they go back to the beginning and start in again.
Same with a lot of bridges 😂
Mackinac Bridge, too.
You have to have balls of steel to do that job!!
That's what I said. ☺️
That's correct. The men that paint the Golden Gate Bridge only work 4 hours a day.
That picture of Wilbur wright flying around the Statue of Liberty was breath taking and new to me. It should be a poster we can buy and put on our walls
Yeah I never knew that happened either. Will have to google it for a better picture.
❤❤❤
Baby the poster exists & google is a thing.
these are all stunning! Very cool for us to see these icons at young age.
A late teenage Jessica Lang pic was not on my bingo card, nice find!
I love it too, have never seen it before. Terrific actress ! 🎉
Yeah
Henry Kissinger was pretty wild with a boombox on his chest 😆🤣🤣
😅😅😅😅
Charlie, Chaplin looks so different in this photo because he is smiling, a rarity for photographs in that era. I never have thought of him as being attractive in the photographs where he is in character, but he is actually handsome in this photograph of him smiling.
It surprised me as well; he is handsome.
It's a really nice photo isn't it,he looks good,😍
❤❤❤
Charly Chaplin war ein sehr schöner und attraktiver Mann, mit einer umwerfenden Ausstrahlung 💓🥰🤗🌿
Lady worker filling heinz ketchup factory in pittsburgh pa. I used to work there, I know.
Did you use the same machine?
It seems like something they would hang onto for demonstration and posterity reasons. 😊
@@NarwahlGaming some things change over a 100 years.😄
Wowww😮
And they're still painting the Golden Gate Bridge today
Bro painted it by himself. Took him à whole 3 day weekend.
❤❤❤
I have a friend who is a retired iron worker on the Golden Gate Bridge. Every Monday morning, he would take the elevator that's inside the towers to the top and then walk down the suspension cables.
Woww
Oh my gosh, you can't be afraid of heights to have that job!
@@Lavenderrose73
That's for sure.
Acrophobics need not appy.
Apparently, the Golden Gate bridge is continually being painted. Once finished, the work begins again at the other end.
It's necessary in order to preserve it & keep it from rusting as it takes a beating from the salt water and wind
Yep 👍
Wowwww
The ice fountain is colossal.
Indeed, it gets DAYUM cold in Dee-troit ! 😅
Omg yeah
Henry Kissinger, shirtless and wearing a boombox. 😂
😂... had to think about that one for a minute. But yeah it’s true!
I saw that instantly!🤣🤣🤣🤣
😅😅😅😅
No way that Christopher Walken pic was 1965. The collar, the 'stache? Total mid-later 70's look of disco.
It's great, but it needs more cowbell
The French man trying Coca Cola looks genuinely disgusted 😂
That last woman that’s the kind of friend I want😂
These videos are so interesting. I love them.
Yes❤
The blonde lady sitting outside holding that glass was Doris Day. 😊😊😊😊😊
I love Wilbur wright flying around the Statue of Liberty that's beautiful
Nice
This guy is in love with the Linda Carter of the 1970s.
Made my teenage pants go crazy. 😎
@@GregWampler-xm8hvTmi buddy. Tmi.
She still has it going on, when I first seen her in the TV version of Wonder Woman I thought to myself that she looked just like my best friends Mom, who was also a twin, yep LoL
Well it's not for NO reason.
@@sheisbrit17 yeah, gross
Look how sharp and clean these people were back then. .there were no drive by shootings.
1945 my birth year 1968 my son's birth year. Time has really flown. Here we are and any day world
War 111 on our doorstep. Look up rapture soon are you ready? Many signs Jesus fetching us.
Sure Ma'am, ❤
Beautiful pictures 😮
The Golden Gate Bridge....WOW....that took my breath away
Ja, damals konnte man einfach mit einem Kassettenrecorder ein Konzert aufnehmen. Das waren noch Zeiten...😂
Robert Quine recorded the Velvet Underground when he was young; now, those recordings are essential to the V.U. catalogue.
A friend and I was sitting with cassette players and recorded Patti Smith's concert that was sent at night, late in the 70's,Punk Rock was popular back then... JazzyT.
Yes😅😅
Painting the Golden gate Bridge with a paint brush would take forever
It has taken forever. The bridge was completed in 1937 and they're STILL painting it! 😂😂
These were the better days
I have the wine carrier from France 🇫🇷 in the 40s😳
👌 👏 😍 👍
Doesn't Jessica Lange remind you of Selena Gomez a little bit? Or another actress she looks so familiar when she's young
I see the resemblance now that you mention it.
@@briank.2650 yes same
My Dad had the biggest crush on Jessica Lange when i was growing up. Beautiful woman.
"Paco Grande"....sounds like a porn star name. 😊
I thought the same thing!
Thank You so Much for Sharing History with all of us ❤ the photos are Treasures
Massive thank you ❤
Great photos thanks ❤
Mr Christopher Walken featured in many films including 'Dogs of war' (Mr Brown) and the outstanding role he played in the film *catch me if you can *with Mr Leonardo Dicaprio. I love that.
I wish you all the best of luck Mr Walken.
Christopher Walken maybe late 70s?
It says 1965.
@@tamsintarshish3905 It doesn't look like 65. He got the date wrong.
@susanb2015 its from a 1973 photo shoot
@@shooter86-uw8ce Thank you.
@@susanb2015 Exactly, that is late 1970's attire. 1965 was nearly 60 years ago and Walken would be around 90!
Thank you for sharing these fantastic photos
Omg Orville wright and the statue of Liberty, coolest 📷. Wine and baguette, my kind of woman 💜🍷
So cool to see ! Thank you !
Dude that French chick knows how to party. A 6 ft. baguette and multiple bottles of wine. 😎
NOSTALGIA CAPSULATED in PHOTOS. Wonderful 😌
Churchill and Chaplin
Chaplin was a pedo! Can't stand anything to do with him!
Wow.... Winston Churchill and Charlie Chaplin.... THAT'S VERY SPECIAL❕
🙂
Very nice! Thank you
I wonder what ingredients went into ketchup back in the 1800’s!
Actually that's a very insightful question. HJ Heinz pioneered "safe" food and also the assembly line well before Ford did.
They probably threw some poison or narcotic in it like arsenic or cocaine. lol
Possibly tomato sauce and vinegar with a touch of molasses?
Likely, a lot LESS artificial ingredients than Heinz & other ketchups today 😢
Heinz ketchup is the only brand I've bought, for over 50 years!❤
Jessica Lang though
I know right! Pretty hot.
"Ironworker" on the bridge , yes big difference from "construction" worker IW Local 782 retired
Thank you for sharing such beautiful classic pictures
Jessica Lange is one of the most beautiful and talented actresses. I remember a picture taken of her when she was travelling around France in a van. She stopped and had her pic taken on the side of the road. She was gorgeous.
I've seen the Polack bootlegger picture plenty of times but I didn't know where or when it was taken. Thanx! 🤓😎✌🏼
Your name Sarnik sounds German bandera like,...

Brilliant history pictures 👍💯
Man reacts to Coca-Cola
Man: 🤢
Wonderful! So wonderful and enjoyable!
I lived in France during my childhood. Mom would send me and my brother to the Boulongerie (bakery) every day for a baguette. We each would eat an end off the loaf before we got home. Happy memories ❤
Oh no!😂😂😂
Great job
It's painful how the names of those who weren't celebrities are not known.
Unbelievable 💓. Christopher Walken Ronald
Why are these crazy? The wonderful photos and the part about history I think that’s tremendous.
@ImpHist
Enjoyed these images. Thanks.
Omg! Never seen such a big/ long Baquette than this!
Nice, but add some diversity. Surely there are more photos of people places and things that existed beyond the US. How about adding some images from Asia, Africa, South America, the Middle East, and the North and South Poles. History happened in these places, too.
So do it
Oh yawwwwn.🥱 there many photos of history. Your approach to history is with ownership and entitlement. How infantile and bratty. Go create and stop trying to tear down.
I'm old & remember Ice Fountains were a big deal in Michigan. Every town had a few.
Charlie Chaplan is a beautiful shot of him.
The french turn their noses up to everything then turn around and eat cold tomato soup and snails 😂😂😂
They got"the 1970s"on Lynda Carter transposed with the 1965 date on RCWalken. But more egregious still is NOT mentioning the stunning & talented Doris Day @the beginning!
@katherinethegreat Walken picture, probably mid-seventies. Carter, ditto. Neither '65.
AWESOME…! AND, then some…!! 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️‼️
Christopher Walkden looks like Swiss Toni from ‘The Fast Show’ on that pic 😂
Great pics!!!
Beautiful people…
Christopher Walken, before he knew about #NatalieWood murder.
Stunning pictures, awesome people , great times...❤
Baguette and Wine in Paris in the 40's,too... Interesting video! JazzyT.
Amazing photos ❤
Even the French themselves had longer baguettes back then.
You dated many French men’s? Or how do you know they have longer baguettes? 🧐🤭
@@holamundowhatsup haha, ok, I admit I provoked this comment!
Not deliberately though
That picture of Walken is NOT from 1965!
Damn Chaplin is a handsome man
Love it 😊
So interesting😮
I so miss old San Fran and the East Bay
I want snow cone from ice fountain ⛲
French woman with 6 bottles of wine and 1 giant baguette; she's gonna have a fun night.
The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has been continually painted since it was built because it is so big.
Paris, 1945!! Must have been post May 8th...Yeah, I'd have been on a loaf & 6 bottles of wine, too! Bless all the people who lived through those & the current wars (members of my family also....Humanity will learn...eventually)😢🎉😢
Nice! Gracias 😊...."Isa"
All of them are pretty cool!!!!!
😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
The man who recording the concert in Polen looks like young Henry Kissinger😂
I like how the woman's work outfit for bottling the ketchup was what appeared to be a cumbersome looking dress
Don't look like Jessica Lang to me at slll
Charlie Chaplin is so modern looking standing next to the iconic Winston Churchill despite it being in the 1920s.
Now THAT'S a baguette!!
Iconic pic's! 👍🏾
The Golden gate bridge is painted a orange red color called international Orange.
Was one of the pics Doris Day?
Liked em young did old Charlie.
You can use that baguette for self defense 😂
There is no mention of the pic of Elizabeth Montgomery quickly flashing by. Just before Jessica lang.
Doris Day
Looks more like a whole bag, not a baguette.
Ha! Bakery Humor, I Love It 😅
That’s one hell of a baguette. And my advice, when in Paris, get street sandwiches on said bread
Beautiful …..
Jessica Lange looks foxy.
Follow that French lady w/the Baguette. 😊
Most people grab milk and bread, but I do love the French style.😅
Painting the Golden Gate bridge seems like a decent job, well ofc if you're hooked to a safe line.
I love seeing Frenchmen trying the American champagne!
