    I like the truss rod. Sometimes, I feel like stage 1 Aging. The neck profile is "classic." Thanks Quinton and Paul!

    I happen to be the proud owner of an amazingly good sounding 000-18, but I would have no problem adding this one to my collection.
    In fact, every guitar I saw in this video, including the ones on the wall, is a guitar I would love to add to my collection. 😬

    So I went to Gruhn’s looking for a little 000-28 for the couch and all. Played a boatload of guitars and my wife said, “play that one in the corner.” I almost didn’t just because I wasn’t thinking I needed another mahogany guitar. One strum and I felt it kick me in the gut. Light as a feather, responsive, brilliant tone, and that neck❤. I walked out with it. Folks, these are amazingly well crafted guitars. Exquisite!

      For those questioning the price, I can only say that my experience has been that the cost of being haunted by a guitar that I walked away from that I knew immediately was out of this world is pretty high, too.

    I used to be a Dreadnaught person but as I got older and after having shoulder surgery back in 2019 they became uncomfortable to play for longer periods of time especially live. Traded in my D28 for an OM28 deluxe and my J45 for a 00018 Deluxe and I love that body shape and size now and how they play and sound.

    Yes, as you say, they are different. The biggest guitar mistake I ever made was selling my 00018.
    I dont have a budget for these “ authentic “ models. Very nice and I would buy both if I had unlimited funds.

    I love the way the starburst looks and the mahogany is gorgeous! It sounds great. I could never buy that guitar, because you already used up the great notes! I have my OM Authentic that looks just like it. It has a truss rod, too, but it isn’t adjustable. Martin is killing it with all these new guitars!

    Wow! $7600! For a little more than a third of that you can get a 000-18 standard and have just as good of a playing experience. You can then pick up a 000-15M and with the left over money and spend a week on Maui! It looks good and sounds good but it’s way overpriced!

    • @kerbyfab
      @kerbyfab Před 2 měsíci

      Ridiculously overpriced!! All guitar prices are getting out of hand.

    I like the rosewood version better here, but the burst sure is a looker!

      They are quite good. I also have an LL6M A.R.E. that I got last year as a used model.

    Honestly prefer the 000-28 version. They absolutely nailed it with that 000-28. It's another animal all together imo. The 000-18 doesn't sound special to me.
    But dread wise, the d18 custom authentic 1937, I like over the d28 custom authentic 1937. But the 000 with rosewood is just meant to be. It's unreal

  • @stevewatkins5659

    Prefer the sound of the rosewood but both sound good

    • @el34glo59
      @el34glo59 Před 2 měsíci

      Same. By far. The 000-28 blows it away imo. They just nailed that guitar. It's a monster. Dread wise, I'd go 18.

  • @Keep-on-picking

    Before I liked deeper sound of rosewood but now prefer earthy sound of mahogany.

  • @jjmuni
    @jjmuni Před 2 měsíci +2

    Lovely guitars! I dig the 18 way more. Sonically and opticwise.
    I got a Atkin 00-28 in a lovely aged suburst. It’s a great sounding guitar definitely in that league but I’d swop immediately for that Mahogany Martin.

    • @el34glo59
      @el34glo59 Před 2 měsíci

      I don't. No way. The 000-28 sounds better man. Like cleary better. They're something I've never heard from Martin before. I've heard 000s like this 18. I mean listen to that. It's unreal.
      Dread wise, if go with the 18 version of this tho

      @@el34glo59 I don’t think there’s a better or worse between these it’s just different and a matter of taste but week, man, that’s just my opinion man.
