- The limited edition Kevin Shields Fender Blender pedal released a few months ago sold-out worldwide in the blink of an eye (surprising no one). Fortunately, Fender got the message and the Blender is now in full production! You don't get all the limited edition goodies, but most importantly, the pedal is exactly the same AND it's cheaper! If you're a guitarist into shoegaze, stoner rock or even fuzzed-up dirty blues, this is a MUST HAVE pedal!

The Blender features two footswitchable channels of fuzz, each with dedicated level controls, the ability to blend the fuzz voice with your clean signal or to blend the fuzz voice with a beefy octave fuzz, while the 'Sag' and 'Trigger' controls starve the circuit of voltage, giving you a wide range of textural fuzzy delights. Tom showcased it alongside another quintessential My Bloody Valentine guitar tone technique - running a reverse reverb (Zoom MS CDR70) into the Blender's raucous circuitry, giving us that otherworldly wall-of-noise shoegaze tone ✨
For this fun and noisey shoot, Tom ran a Fender American Vintage II '66 Jazzmaster into a Fender '68 Custom Princeton.

Ok...im nearing 50, want to learn to play. Bought a cheap squire bullet Mustang guitar that's gathered dust for a couple of years. I love MBV and shoegaze. Maybe, just maybe if i bought this I'll learn to play...🤔😅

Some of the descriptors I’ve heard on video reviews of this are so cringe it makes my head spin. “Psych genius”, “from the twisted mind of Kevin Shields”, etc. Despite all that, this is maybe the most stylistically accurate review I’ve seen so far. Cut the rock and roll hoochie coo riff and we’re good.

All of the pedals, also the limited version are made in china. You can check pictures with of the limited ones. Just like the standard run it says “design and engineered in the USA. Made in China”
Both runs are technically 100% identical and come from the same chinese factory

1. The limited run was more than just the pedal and included some goodies (the book, some pedals with USB stick with unreleased music, signature from Kevin Shields)
2. development costs were covered by the limited run, means no development cost for the second run
3. Ordering higher quantities from a factory usually means you get a lower price per unit. I don’t know how many Fender ordered but it must be thousands. The limited run was only 700 pieces
