- Krátké a kreslené filmy
This is one of the all time classic air disaster movies; it has an All-Star cast; and man the nostalgia....Love it man !!!!!🛩
The acting was so convincing! Even I got emotional! And no CGI! Good old fashion movie! Thank you for the upload!
I remember watching this movie in the middle of the night. I had a huge crush on Roddy McDowall and he’s still my favorite actor today. I haven’t seen this for years so it brings back fond memories. Thanks for uploading this classic 1970s film. Roddy, Doug, and Lois Nettleton were great together. 🎞🎥
I just want to tell you both "good luck". We're all counting on you.
Thanks, Shirley!
A remake of ZERO HOUR -- later remade into "Airplane!" Lois Nettleton. WOW.
Thank you for putting it up here. Watched it with my Uncle on the original broadcast date when I was 7 years old.
I love these old, TV movies, they're THE BEST! This is a great upload, thank you!!!
I was 8yrs old when I saw this movie 😊🤣..
This is the Daddy of all those novice-landing-airliner TV show episodes. And this one is outstanding: cast, acting, situation, event progress, tension, and ending in genuine palpable relief.
First saw this in the late 1970's, twice, in Zambia, then in 1983 in Zimbabwe, and again after 40 years on CZcams in India.
Thanks for uploading this!
Roddy McDowall is not playing around in this one. Thanks for posting this, I never knew this one existed, and it is a fun watch.
LOVE THE OLDER MOVIES. THIS ONE WAS VERY GOOD. THANK YOU FOR SHARING,
I have been looking for this movie for 40 years
same here been looking for years then one day found it on a site called rare films...
What a pisser
I love this film. I'll add it to "Zero Hour." I hope someone has the presence of mind to save these films for future audiences.
Love this movie! Always had a crush on Roddy McDowell.
Every time I got stuck in a fleabag motel, way back when, (usually business, like boony shacks), this movie would be the only thing worth watching in the middle of the night. I had always assumed it was shot in black and white. Thank you denny.
There's another similar movie filmed in the 50's called Zero Hour which this movie emulates.
@@charlieboy77 Yes and I believe Zero Hour is what "Airplane" was inspired by. So much so that the Zucker Bros. bought the rights to avoid any lawsuits.
I remember watching this as a teenager. Thanks for uploading it !!! Airplane I & Airplane II took a lot from this film. This and The Flight of the Phoenix 1965 starring James Stewart are two of the best old school air plane movies made.
“Island in the Sky” and “The High and The Mighty” are also classics...
Airplane I & II also took a LOT from Zero Hour! movie(it nearly is Airplane) and Airport '75 & '77
A fun fact about Airplane! (1980). It's a remake of Zero Hour! (1957). They bought the rights to Zero Hour!
Terror In The Sky (1971) is a remake of Zero Hour! So in it's own amusing way, Airplane! (remake) is the sequel to Terror In The Sky (remake). There's even a Kenneth Tobey (Captain Wilson, Terror In The Sky) cameo in Airplane!
Excellent airplane movie. Alex Haley is a remarkable storyteller. And even the cast which is a lot of times in cheesy disaster movies really impressed. Roddy McDowell, Lois Nettelton, Doug McClure, nice job. Thanks!
Alex Haley is pretty good, but this story was written by Arthur Hailey.
@@stephenp448 Thank you for correcting me. They are both wonderful authors. Take care.
Doug McClure was a Great actor. So was Roddy McDowell. R.I.P. Yep! Some prop passenger aircraft were still used in 1971.
Really enjoyed this movie👍🏻✈️thanks for sharing 🎬
Doug McClure was to the 70s what Bruce Willis was to the 80s, bona fide stereotype hero, I'm surprised the captain just didn't ask if Doug McClure was on the plane
And a Cessna pilot in real life, he had a similar role in SST:Death Flight and also played pilots in Death Race and Strange Companions.
Woo-hoo! Despite the bargain-basement budget and questionable script, this little TV movie packs a wallop. The actors really worked together and made it happen. Doug McClure is surprisingly strong. And even Roddy McDowell played it straight (no pun intended).
One of Doug's best performances.
This is fantastic. You made this long time airline guy's week!
"You are coming with me to that cockpit even if I have to drag you there..." Right on Roddy!
A very enjoyable movie. Thank you for uploading it. It really delved into the raw human emotions of fear, death and anticipation. The funny part was the ending when the big guy told the other guy that was the lousiest landing that he had ever seen. We needed to sizzle that energy with humour after all that emotional fuzz lol
Thank you Denny....you made my saturday night....been a long time since I'd seen that one....very enjoyable...thanks again..
I an enjoying this movie. Never seen it before. I am 60 years old. I did work in an ER for 10 years that was the closest to our international airport. I do not recall that we ever had cases of food poisoning from passengers. However, this was in the 80's and food safety was really a priority then, and not many flights still served meals too. One thing I do know, we had a pilot from the airlines come to our ER for TX for a stomach problem. The ER doc asked him about meal service. The pilot commented that it was required that pilots, co pilots eat different meals, eat at different eateries and not to get coffee at the same vendors just in case of food poisoning. Until I am seeing this movie, I had forgotten about that episode in our ER.
I cannot help but wonder, if this scenario in this movie influenced the airlines to make up that policy, or if an incident happened within the industry--and finally those rules were made, or it if those rules were just local to our airport or a particular airline. If anyone can shed light on this subject, comments welcome. I am writing this on 5/15/2023.
Thanks for posting the movie. Great cast too. Plan to keep in my library.
It's pretty easy to see where the storyline for 'Airplane!' came from.
taratupa73 This was the 3rd film to use this plot (Airplane! the fourth), there were two previous films that used this plot
Airplane was inspired by Zero Hour.
@@richardkennedy8481 You're absolutely right. When I made that comment, I was not aware of 'Zero Hour'.
The movie taught me the most life sticking lesson *never give up,try hard be courageous&brave despite of your failure one time*
Yes sir I wanna be as a young youth
Hey and hello everyone this youth here. I may sound peculiar very different from the youths today but I love 70s and 80s era
This is really a great movie! Kind of a hidden gem. Never heard of it before. If your reading comments of whether to watch, then definitely watch it. But unfortunately the quality of the video is not so good. I checked and it can be ordered online for $ll.00. Wish someone would upload from a dvd and achieve better visual quality. But it's a good enough movie to watch it anyway.
you will find that on dvd it won't be a lot better probably be a copy from vhs this movie has never been released
👏🏼👏🏼 bravo BRAVO ❗❗⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well, this was a fun movie. Excellent, thanks for sharing this extreme thriller with us. Denny dango two thumbs up.👍🏼👍🏼💐🇨🇦
"I speak jive." Kenneth Tobey, who played Captain Wilson was also in Airplane!
Well done Denny, thanks for taking the time and trouble.
Where's Karen Black when you need her?
My favorite line ... "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are about to arrive in Seattle." Arrive, not necessarily land.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks again, Denny.
RIP Pattye Mattick- you were awesome 💐
Terror in the Sky has turned into comedy after seeing Airplane! (1980).The cheesy dialogue in the serious tone is so funny even though it was not suppose to be.
I first saw this movie on CBS, but network difficulties (perhaps the station?) prevented us from seeing the ending. Got to see it this time.... thanks!
'Surely, you can't be serious.'
' I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.' 🙄
😂👍
It's a completely different kind of flying, altogether.
Thanks for this great movie
Denny, Thank you for this jem

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for travelling with TWA, we look forward to seeing you again soon ."
Why doesn't this baby get a decent release on dvd or blu ray even. It's a 70s TV classic man.
Lois Neddleton played Chief Gillespie's (Carroll O'Connor)love interest in the late 80's In The Heat Of The Night. She passed away in 2008.
Muchas gracias por subir la película!
The pilot's old saying applies here, "any landing you can walk away from is a good one."
Thanks for the upload ... was looking for a very long time for this (old time sake). Unfort this is a very low quality, so if you ever can find the time... pls. upload again with a better bitrate. Thanks in advance from The Netherlands (Europe)!
sorry about the quality but being a very rare movie this was the best i could find on the net and only copy i could find been searching for it for years could not even find it on kodi
@@dennytango853 Same story here, so thanks again... this is something!
Really the Netherlands are in Europe? I would've sworn the Dutch come from South America LOL
@@dennytango853 thank you for the upload
Lois Nettleton has some beautiful eyes
Leif Erickson was a scene-stealer, a wonderful performance. Roddy McDowell too was terrific 👍
Great upload Denny, good job
"We had a choice of lamb or chicken pot pie....."
"Yes, yes, I remember, I had lasagna."
Thank you!
Remember this movie 🎥 back years ago.
Yup, this is the original movie the Zucker Brothers parodied in "AEROPLANE".
That, and "Zero Hour".
"mistofoles," Do you honestly think the Zucker brothers thought enough people would remember a TV movie from 1971 -- nearly a decade prior and not a feature film -- as being the source for a major, Paramount theatrical release?! Would the bean counters at Paramount okay the expenditure? Not hardly.
Others have suggested the genesis for "Airplane!" is a combination of a handful of similarly-themed movies, Universal's mammoth hit, "Airport" (1970), being one.
@@scvandy3129 Well, I got the reference, didn't I ? ( I read the novel ) In any case, the Zucker brothers themselves said they got the idea for "AEROPLANE" from this movie after coming across it by chance on TV, I guess they thought not many people would have heard of the original movie as it's pretty obscure.
@@scvandy3129 watch the film “Zero Hour”…. That was the first version made of the book by Arthur Hailey. This is a remake and whilst the story is basically the same in this film, Airplane lifted almost the entire film of Zero Hour shot for shot and line for line. The Zucker brothers saw it late one night and immediately bought the rights to it.
@@PrisonerMusic C'mon...you're not telling me "Don't give me your "white zone" shit , Patty !" was a line from the original movie ?? >:D
Brilliant. THANKS!
Murdoch out of The A team makes reference in a episode to this movie
Murdock brought me here 2 . 😂👍🏻
Two other good ones are Mayday at 40,000 ft. with David Jansen. And another one just called Mayday. Both good.
Filmaço! Mesmo entendo muito pouco de inglês consegui acompanhar a história empolgante do filme. E Lois Nettleton, linda como sempre, esteve magnifica ao lado de Doug McClure.
Thank you Denny.
Haven’t seen this film in decades
1 Ger Drama & Terror movie ! Tyvm 4 this real grt movie !🤣😍😜!
Looks like I picked the wrong night to quit sniffing glue! (And the wrong night to quit eating lamb; should've had that instead of the chicken!)
Eat healthy GO VEGAN!!!
Forget the lamb dinner I would choose the poom pie dinner.
I think this movie is based on the book/short story by Canadian author Arthur Hailey. Don't know that it was ever shown here in Australia (I stand to be corrected on that) but back in the day when "our ABC", the national broadcaster, was worth watching they produced their own version of this for local TV and it was quite good. I remember the aircraft used was a Trans Australian Airlines DC4 and the airport they eventually landed at was Essendon airport, then the main airport in Melbourne. Just some "down under" trivia for all you viewers out there. I'm goin to enjoy this being an aeroplane "nut".
It is.
The original story was written as a CBC television play (Canadian Broadcast Corp.) in 1956 as "Zero Hour". It was released as a novel titled "Runway 08", and the movie was redone in the US as "Flight Into Danger" in 1957.
He landed that plane in spite of the guy "helping" him not because of him.
Just to clarify things, this movie Terror In The Sky was NOT the inspiration for the 1980 satirical film Airplane. It was the 1957 movie Zero Hour.
Enjoy the flight...🛫
So awesome Pattye Mattick 👩🏻🦰👓💐📺
GREAT MOVIE. ENJOYED IT A LOT.
Based on the 1955 script Flight into Danger by Arthur Hailey who wrote Airport.
haven't seen this in years ..
They don’t make good movies like this anymore.
Arthur Hailey’s novel that this is based on was originally called “Runway Zero-Eight”
Also known as Flight into Danger.
@@nicfewer8393 ....yes I think “Flight Into Danger” was the original title
The novel was an adaptation of a script for a CBC television play from 1956.
@@stephenp448 James Doohan, Scotty from Star Trek, played George Spencer in that version.
I don't think this movie is very realistic... they wait for a late passenger before taking off!
It could have been Elvis.
Quanta nostalgia. No início dos 70 vi umas 2 vezes esse filme na TV.
I miss these 70s disaster movies .
Looks a decent thriller - 30Apr2022 Finland
Awesome movie
now I know what film Airplane parodied off of.
More Zero Hour, 1957, of which this a remake. Originally a 1956 Canadian TV play with James Doohan as Spencer.
@@nicfewer8393 James Doohan was in Zero Hour? Now I really have to see it. Thank you. :)
I am watching this while my plane is being hijacked.
1 grt movie 4 sure ! tysm !😊😏!
Never heard of this movie❤
Airport 1971
Different story. Same author, though.
What was it we had for dinner tonight?
Well, we had a choice, steak or fish.
Yes, I remember, I had lasagna.
16:04 Upon Capt'n statement he ate the same meal (poisoned food), now would be a perfect time to ask for a Steno Pad, for Capt'n to dictate tech info on how to land that 4-engine recip transport ! 😏 (airspeeds, stall speeds various flap settings, approach speed, engine power management,)
Plus cockpit familiarization with Wx Radar if equip, autopilot, radio comm/nav controls, IFF, deicing, carb heat, exterior lights, landing gear controls, and tons of other important details.
Thank you saw this when much younger and it's still just as suspenseful. Loved Doug McClure and Lois Nettleton, but what does her friend say? Life is not a what?? sounds like fountain? fun time? Anybody?
Life is not a ‘funk’
There's a similar concept like this made back in the 50s, titled "Zero Hour!", which was later remade into the comedy film, "Airplane!" in 1980. Ironically, they even used footage and some quotes from "Zero Hour!" in this film too.
I better not let my wife see this movie. Chicken pot pie is one of her favorites. After seeing this I will put it up along side The High & The Mighty. Mostly acting not relying on CGI makes many older movies more of the real deal IMHO.
16:42 Capt: "I ate the same meal as he did" (copilot).
That's a violation of safety protocol. Two Pilots never eat the same menus. For this very reason.
Does anyone know, in exactly what year was it made mandatory for the two pilots to eat different meals? I know it is mandatory today, but I don't think it was when Arthur Hailey wrote the book on which this film was based, in the 1950s.
The only reference to the practice of different meals began after 1975, due to a food poisoning incident (per Wiki)
On February 3, 1975, 197 people fell ill aboard a Japan Airlines Boeing 747 en route from Anchorage, Alaska to Copenhagen, Denmark after consuming an in-flight meal contaminated with Staphylococci. 144 people needed hospitalization, making it the largest food poisoning incident aboard a commercial airliner.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Airlines_food_poisoning_incident
This film was a remake of a movie starring Dana Andrews called "Zero Hour." It's a much better film and can be downloaded.
Cool Film.
The full 1990 Paramount Television logo with the 1970 music at the end is cut off.
1971. Possibly cut to avoid being sued for showing Paramount's copyrighted material. We used to see and hear it on "Mission: Impossible," "The Immortal," "The Brady Bunch" "Mannix" and "Love, American Style."
Did this ever happen in real life to a passenger plane? I saw this movie years ago, ever since I got youtube I have been trying to find it with no luck. Tonight I just typed the name in the search engine and it came up. Going to bookmark it and watch it a lo in the future. I think I read a book years ago by the same name. thanks for an outstanding movie
i remember watching this tv movie back in the 70s been searching for it for years and one day found it on a movie site with rare movies...
Drunken bums, lousy food, Sounds like Ryanair.
Lamb chops aren't lousy, my fav !!
Sounds like Trans American Airlines, last time I've heard them they had a flight to Chicago stop at I think LA due to a food poisoning accident
Pattye Mattick! @ 7:28
Sam Melville ❤ RIP
I thought that the pilot and co pilot have different meals to stop 🛑 this from happening in real life.
Fourth time. by the way the movie is not like the book. (If I remember the book, the plane didn't fall apart when he landed it.
I remember this movie! When will it be on DVD?
Buenisma pelicula
Love Roddy McDowall movies
He is good in this, a good performance. He never gives a bad one.
