Played for the fan service, stayed for the story....and fan service
Ah, someone i spoke to in Waifu Space Program like once. It's a small internet.
Played for the story, stayed for the fan service... and story
@RaineTCG Story in Estival Versus is good enough for me there was actually some moment where I forgot this was a fanservice game. I have played some none-fanservice with a much worse story writing one of them is Mortal Kombat 11.
I stayed for both as well
@@doomguy9087 I agree mortal Kombat 11 has a bad plot
Played almost all of these games. I love the *plot.*
Aside from the actual *plot* worth playing for, the stories are pretty fun and interesting. I got into the series for the tits and ass but ended up growing to love the characters.
LMAO
gimme a game
@@FreakinSweet1987 same hikage is my favorite character. I loved her character development in the hebijo arc in burst renewal
The plot thiccens.
I've played this games simply because their gameplay isn't bad at all, it's quite deep to be honest and as a fan of character action games beggars can't be choosers.
Naked body aren't really strange in Germany, so Nudity barely impacts the rating, more important is violence, language and gore.
Especially Nazis.
not if the politically correct have their way
Haha, Nudity is actually a FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT IN GERMANY!!!! Wrap your head around that xD
naked bodies aren't strange in gernany? huh??
This would seem to make more sense, wouldn't it? But blood and violence is less taboo than nudity in many other regions apparently.
In Deep Crimson, there is a ultimate weapon Asuka and Homura can unlock, that are variants of the gessen and new hebijo leaders weapons, but their descriptions use past tense implying that all (or some) of the gessen and new hebijo characters died in the 3ds timeline
I hope we see more Neps and DOA girls in SK. They seriously all look great in that Senran Kagura style
I know her popularity sucks in Japan but I would love to see Tina Armstrong in the Senran style. Also let Daidoji travel the world and get into different fighting games please.
Personally, Onechanbara characters would be a perfect fit.
@@perryfan7482 bro, i would pay money for Daijouji to appear in any fighting game. Tekken, Street Fighter, DoA, BBTag you name it
Ren Shinomiya Looks like we’re one step closer since SK is in BBTAG. I hope Takaki & Marvelous sees the demand for Daidouji
Compile Heart and Tamsoft have collaborated before, a Hyperdimension Kagura crossover would be dope
Never really plan to play any of the games. Now I do.
1:50 yooooo where did that come??? suddendly 10/10 german out of nowhere hahhaa
I hope Marvelous will now release New Senran Kagura games on the Switch
Not happening it's a PlayStation exclusive, 7even is the upcoming game.
But they already are! We already have Reflexions and the as of now Japan-only Peach Ball (and both as Switch exclusive games).
Although those two are actually little side games rather than the main action-based games
@@antoniodelgado5465
Also, I (kinda) agree with him. Although future titles like 7even have a certain possibility to be released on the Switch as a multiplatform launch, at least if Honey Parade/Tamsoft and Marvelous consider the recent advent of niche Japanese games in its third-party support and how it's starting to have a great reception, _especially_ here in the West (more precisely right after the SIE censorship scandal episode exploded in October 2018) (and it's impressing, it's like if the audience for every game genres and companies solidified on the Sony systems outside Japan broke their loyalty and everyone migrated to the Switch), and also that the Switch is the most viable handheld successor to the PS Vita, hardware-wise (although while every other main game ran on a handheld system, the most recent one, which is PBS, didn't) (and, well, handheld and mobile gaming can be considered historically strong in Japan, since the DS VS PSP era), I don't think that Senran Kagura will move away from the PlayStation systems (at least not that early and that easily), considering that probably most of the Senran Kagura players and niche _ecchi_ Japanese game player audience in general are already solidified in the PS4/PS Vita user base in Japan right now (just like the JRPG players), and they are quite unwilling to buy another console, not without the certainty that the direction that Japanese games are taking in the industry "might be changing".
I don't! Do I have to buy a different console for a every Senran Kagura timeline? Screw that, I am staying with PlayStation. Yes PlayStation has it's issues with the censorship and all that but still it's a trustworthy console.
See? @@worldcollider8080's comment right here is more or less what I kinda wanted to mean about the Japanese player base and about how there still are people who sticks with a particular system when it comes to ongoing series and game genres (like JRPGs, at least the niche ones).
Senran Kagura's popularity was (in a way) most established thanks to the later games originated on the PlayStation systems, when it comes to consoles, and I don't think that Japanese people do play the Steam ports of the console-based games (plus the fact that those aren't handled by Marvelous or Honey Parade to begin with, it's mainly the English publishers' doing)
Recently got back into the series. Definitely gonna be getting Burst Renewal soon (For PS4/5). While it has it’s fan service and all, it definitely has a pretty solid story, complete with light/dark elements. Grown pretty attached to the characters/settings honestly.
damn dude, uploaded the exact day i decided to look into the order of the games
It's useful to note that the Burst performance issues can be mostly fixd on a modded N3ds by forcing the game to run at the N3ds clock and memory speeds. Doing this just makes the game *so* much more enjoyable
0:27 Vegil: HEY WAIT A MINUTE
His daughter
Just started playing Peach Beach Splash and I love it so far. Homura’s my favorite!
Here's a simple way to put it.
1. Start with Senran Kagura Burst because this is the very beginning of the series. Either version will work (the 3DS version or the remake for PS4). However, I recommend Burst Renewal (the PS4 version) since it is faithful to the story of the 3DS version and it has the additional DLC campaigns for Yumi and Miyabi (so you can get additional background stories for characters that will become important a little later).
2. From here, you can choose to play either Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson for the 3DS or Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus for the PS Vita and PC. It doesn't matter which one of these you play first because both of these games are the direct sequel to Burst. They just happen in different timelines. For those familiar with the Legend of Zelda series and timeline, think of Burst as being the Ocarina of Time for the Senran Kagura series, which led to a split in the timeline. SK2: Deep Crimson is the sequel to Burst in one timeline, while Shinovi Versus is the sequel to Burst in another timeline. (And yes, when I say "timeline", I am not just referring to the whole 3DS vs PlayStation thing. It later becomes revealed that the Senran Kagura universe actually does contain multiple timelines in the actual lore of the series).
Anyway, it doesn't matter which one you play first between Deep Crimson and Shinovi Versus, but you should definitely play them both after playing Burst and before moving onto the next game on this list. If you don't play Shinovi, then you won't really understand much about the next games at all (as Shinovi literally introduces about half of the current cast and the plotlines associated with them). Furthermore, if you don't play Deep Crimson, then you won't know or understand who two relatively important characters are, and you won't understand some references that are made in the subsequent games on this list.
3. After you have played Deep Crimson (which is where the 3DS timeline ends by the way), and you have played Shinovi Versus, the next game for you to play is Senran Kagura Estival Versus for the PS4/PC. This game is the sequel to Shinovi Versus, and it is absolutely mandatory for you to understand anything going forward. It is also (in my opinion) the best Senran Kagura game in the franchise thus far. This game is essentially the game that sort of links and expounds on the concept of these "timelines" and a certain major threat that is set to emerge. It also gives important development to some of the characters.
4. Finally, you should play Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash for the PS4/PC. Despite how it may seem, this game is actually a canon sequel to Estival Versus and it is important to the story. This game also makes direct reference to Deep Crimson at certain parts, and it further links the timelines and gives a clearer understanding of things.
The next game after that is supposed to be Senran Kagura 7even, but who knows when that will come out?
Also, as the video mentioned, there are some Japan only mobile games called Senran Kagura New Link and Senran Kagura New Wave. Unfortunately, those are (as just mentioned) Japan only, but there are some media through which we can get exposed to and get some story pertaining to at least a few of the new characters from those games. Primarily, there is the Senran Kagura Shinovi Masters anime which primarily features Gekkou, Senkou and Fubuki as antagonists, so you can get the story involving them and their conflicts with our main girls from that anime. Then, Peach Beach Splash also features some of the New Link/New Wave characters (namely Soji, Yuyaki and Leo), but the main story of the game doesn't actually do anything with them (so I honestly don't know why they were in the game). You mainly get some of these 3's story in the paradise episodes of this game (little comical side stories).
Thx man for this "where to start" videos, it's very helpful and I like your honesty and differents points of view about the franchises
Your intonation and pronunaciation of the German USK was flawless! =O I'm so impressed!
Again a nice video! Started with Estival Versus just because I found it on sale some weeks ago and had an eye out for the games anyway since some time. But at least now I know where I should head next as the game plays pretty good.
Thanks. I've known about this series for a while but didn't have anything it was on until recently. I have a gaming laptop now and was wondering which game to start with. This was helpful.
This was a pretty good video!
Nice explanation of the series.
Very objective video and sticks to the point, well researched as well. Glad you got SK on the PC and not support PS censorship rules which is totally not them for the past few years. Subbed due to this video checking out your 2nd channel
Really good video man keep it up! I have been trying to check out Senran Kagura for a while but all these titles confused me. So thanks for the help!
Thanks for the informative summary. I jumped into it at the PBS and felt that many jokes and dialog went over my head which ended up ruining my experience. I might give it another shot in a proper order this time.
Oh boy I've been waiting for this!
Wubzy YSN never disappoints.
@@user-vg4io4pr5c FR!
I am starting my Senran Kagura journey today.
Found you channel while looking for info on hyperdimensional neptunia. Thank you mate you are helping with a creation of a to do list after college (summer break). Cheers.
I love this series. 💖 I've got 2 out of 5 on PC. I will get them all.
I really that sometime in the future we get a Senran Kagura and Neptunia Legacy collection on the switch
Well you got a SUB from me the way you talk is really nice and you explain stuff in detail :)
I really enjoyed the video. Great job, dude!
I don’t know if Peach Ball will ever be released in Europe and North America but hey, only time will tell.
I have both 3DS games digitally and I’m currently playing SK: Burst despite the frame-rate issue. I’m thinking about getting Reflexions for the Switch later on.
“T + A = M” Oh, snap! I never thought of that. Very clever! 👍🏻 Not everyone likes Bon Appétit!, though. It depends on their tastes, just saying.
Senran Kagura is love, Senran Kagura is life!
Ended up buying Burst Renewal on PC the other day as I thought it would be a good starting place then will go to Shinovi then Estival then PBS on PC.
Just got burst renewal a few days ago cause it was in sale. I always had my eyes on it, but never took the leap and give it a chance. I'm glad I did tho, cause I'm loving the game! I'm actually really into the story.....fan service is always a plus too. That being said, I decided to get estival literally today since I'm loving renewal and anxious to play it too, but with all renewal have to offer with the story mode, I'm certainly not rushing to finish it. Not a fan of games like dynasty warriors and I don't really care for gave with alot of fan service, but since I got oneebara-chan I've find myself liking them and getting senren kagura just confirm I've find a new genre of games that isn't into.
He didn’t mention this in the video BUT playstation time is actually the countination of the first season of the Senran Kagura anime first season Shinovi and estival versus pbs are in between the second season and the first season I reccomend you watch the first season before starting to ps timeline
Can't believe I never heard of these games before. I love them.
Great info!
Great video! Also the animes and OVAs are not bad.
I don't know how many times I watched this video because I just love Senran Kagura series..
Honestly i may have started wrong end of the series as my first one was Estival Versus for PC since it was on sale and the story and the interactions with other characters seemed like a really bad ecchi anime but i liked the combat but for some reason and mostly because of the openings of the 3DS era i've kept liking the series and maybe when it goes on sale i'll give a chance to Burst:Renewal if it's supposed to tell the story of the 3DS era which i've been most interested in.
Thanks for this video! Been playing SK since day one, but I’m gonna use this to get some non-weeb friends into the series. 😉
I don't like what you're trying...
I just got into SK like a week ago and have PBB for the Switch and PBS for PA4 as well as the Renewal LE. Want to get Estival next. Love PBS. What this franchise really needs is a Rumble Roses style game, if anyone remembers that. Complete with the humiliation meter and all, would be awesome. Also, would be great if they did a fighter, like a cross with DOA.
How you got pbs for ps4. I only got burst Re:newal and pbs is locked. I can only get it on the Internet.
Love this series
I just realized I own every game exept Reflextions. Well I guess I'll go buy a nintendo e shop card.
I just started with Burst Renewal on Playstation. Getting way into this thing.
The Switch is in desperate need of some Senran Kagura games.
That was some fine ass pronunciation of Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle :O
I enjoy the humor and the gameplay generally isn't half bad.
I recently just bought and played Burst Renewal. Im almost done with it and i love it as an introduction to the series. Very fun and the story is actual interesting along with combat
It really sucks that it doesnt have online
I just got into the series a few months back when I saw it on sale for the PS4 holiday sales. Looked up the series on the internet, watched a few gameplay videos and went and bought Estival Versus and Peach Beach Splash. Going to order Burst Re: Newal soon.
totally just playing for the plot
*Where to start: A Game That Is Like Devil May Cry But It Has Thots Instead Of Dante*
EARLY BTW
Or Nero, or Vergil.
Dante is definitely a sexy thot. So...
"Like it should be" Hell Yeah Brother!
Great video :)
Thank you for telling us about the burst renewal censorship I also bought the steam version I really wanted to own it on console but I'm really against censorship
I'm eventually gonna have to play this series at some point, since I also play Neptunia. Feel like my guy friends will start to really question my sexuality when I do, but I know that there are ways to avoid most (if not some) of the fanservice-y bits. Zagreus from Hades give me protection and strength!
I really liked Deep Crimson. I think Shinovi Versus is a good starting point because it seems somewhere in between Burst Renewell and Estival Versus in features and mechanics.
Wer'e getting a crossover in April 2022.
Yeah I recommended to my friends to start with shinovi versus first
I got Estival VS, Peach beach and the cooking rhythm game haven't tried Burst renewal yet. BTW it should be mentioned that both the Pinball game and Reflections are no longer switch exclusives, those are on steam as well.
Neko-murusaki I love it!
I was interested in this series of games because there will be a crossover with Neptunia, so I decided to find out everything about characters from Senran Kagura games.
Yay, you settled on the steam version
Yes Fam
I know this is a very old video, and I do like it apart from you never had the best game of the whole series here which was Peach Ball! Was this because it wasn't out by the time you made this video? It's a damn shame, cause for me it the best ever Senran Kagura game of the entire series. Visual novel and Pinball. You can't beat it.
I started with Shinovi on PC and also New Link on my mobile phone.
Lucky
Make a Senran Kagura BOXING game! can be so EPIC!!!
hello im new here and i see that your a pro at nep games. i would like to know how to get the other endings in mk2 and victory. maybe it can be a video to help others as well. continue your amazing work and don't give up on what you lovw to do.
So you WANT to get Conquest....
i want to get all the endings since im new at playing the neptunia games.
rly fun
I started with Estival since it works as a ReBoot
I love senran kargura
Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal has best game mechanics
Really really wish they put shinovi versus on PS4. I know little to nothing about Gessen and new Hebijo.
Same
I bought Estival Versus from Steam due to character selection. Still need to download into my computer.
Endless 8 I got estival versus in January on my ps4 and got peach beach splash 3 weeks ago since it was on sale for 20$ on psn store I got all of the dlc characters as well
Not sure if it's already been pointed out, but your explanation of the games is a bit off. The seven main games are Burst, Shinovi Versus, Bon Appetit, Deep Crimson, Estival Versus, Peach Beach Splash, and 7EVEN. Portrait of Girls, Burst, and Burst Re:Newal are counted as one game overall.
4:25 Don't forget the New Hebijo girls like Miyabi and Ryona. They're absent, too.
Though I think it's mostly because of the 3DS timeline's short life. Had it continued, I'm sure they would've made it in.
In Deep Crimson, there is a ultimate weapon Asuka and Homura can unlock, that are variants of the gessen and new hebijo leaders weapons, but their descriptions use past tense implying that all (or some) of the gessen and new hebijo characters died in the 3ds timeline
@@chadnarukami1651 Dark.
If you are just viewing this Peachball has been announced for western release and is available for preorder.
rushmore0811 you it did the physical version is up for preorder
I've played Timeline 1 and only the PS4 versions of Timeline 2.
One of the reasons i bought a PS Vita
Okay die "Unterhaltungssoftware-Selbst-Kontrolle" kam aus dem nichts 😂
Just a heads up for anyone playing on a PS5, Estival Versus and Peach Beach Splash do not work very well on that console. The characters have texture issues in gameplay and certain cutscenes seem to almost always crash(though you can skip them to continue) Burst Renewal had similar issues as well but that received a patch to fix it, sadly Estival Versus and PBS were never fixed. Might be worth keeping in mind if you have a PS5 but not a PS4 to play them on.
YellowSuperNintendo’s recommendation to start off is @4:26.😊🔥
Just bought Estival Versus bc it was on sale and thought that was the first game. So I have to play Burst Renewal first? If so then I'll get that one too
👍👍
Not related but still senran kagura, can you do senran kagura new wave (can't find source) and new link (best lvl up)
How did they manage to not release a single game on PS3?
Probably too hard for them to develop for.
Shinovi Versus is on ps3
@@akali6636 Wrong.. it was only for Vita and PC
forgives12 Oh I tought it was released on ps3 because it’s listed on the trophies but I looked it up producer said it was a mistake
I was gonna get the water shooter but I was debating if I should
Peach Beach Splash
Oh wow...they did that
The Unterhaltungsoftware Selbstkontrolle sehr geil very nice
i was thinking about starting with peach beach splash because of the gameplay is it bad to start with storywise?
@5ky65z3r alright thanks
I already have completed the first game for 3ds (only first path).
Will I lost a lot if I skip Shinobi versus and go next with estival versus?
I already bought Estival Versus..
Sony censored the PS4 version of DoA Extreme 3 Scarlet as well.
1:45
Damn, turned full German there, haha.
@YellowSuperNintendo In your opinion, which one is the single best Senran Kagura game?
You spoke German so well
Peach beach splash & Re:newal (BEST)
I hope they move the series over to switch
9:02 *AND THE FINAL BOSS OF BOTH GAMES IS A DJ IN A FLYING MACHINE!!!*
Oh crap! Was that too much of a spoiler?
Here is a bonus fact never played this games in public or around family members! Don't ask me how I know I just know
Hopefully they rerelease burst renewal on switch and if that's profitable hopefully they port the rest of the main series over.
Never played it before in my life.
I the begining, I already now that game is real, but I started with the Ninja Flash anime.
Its called hentai and it's art
Beautiful sexy art.😏
…this comment _again?_
(I mean, it HAS to be a meme at this point)
I'ts more ecchi than hentai
It's called ecchi and it's *hot*
Not hentai but ecchi, more fanservice but not "porn"
A shame that there is no more "main" games on Nintendo consoles
SK2 is my favorite of all the games. Better story and reaaally nice game play. And not so easy in the begining like the others. The boss battles where not so easy and a good rooster of enemies!
Never been sucha a big fan of Gessen group.
What's your favorite game and character?
Estival Versus and my favourite character is Asuka.
p.s on the steam version all the games haves mods available. If you know what I mean.
