Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, known as RZA, is an American rapper, actor, filmmaker, and music producer. He's the main leader of the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan and has produced most of their albums. He's related to two other original Wu-Tang Clan members: GZA and Ol' Dirty B*stard. Besides working with Wu-Tang Clan, he's released solo albums under the name Bobby Digital and has produced other projects. Watched this movie after a party at night in 2000 I was 14. It has blown my mind.
This movie has lots of hidden messages.. It's all about knowledge, self education and belief.. Being aware of the moment aware of the situation before its getting ugly.. Being in the moment.. What a wise and brillant movie. Beside with one of the best actors around.. It's also a very meditational movie and the music is more than perfect.. A movie worth seeing a dozen times.. Every time you'll discover something new.. And it shows us what kind to live by to considerate.. No killing but the way of the samurai could lead us to a powerful stoic and high spiritual living.. Very very great movie. A masterpiece..

This is the most calming, sad, melancholy, thought-provoking, hopeful beat I have ever heard. The RZA is and always will be a genius producer.
This song reminds me of walking in the streets of South Bronx as a lad right across from the projects not that far from Jerome Ave exit on the pike. This song is what I felt then and now in my memories. Not nostalgic memories of buildings and stuff but the memories of all those African American youths whose lives were unjustly and abruptly terminated! Last time there I buried my brother in-law killed execution style at his own doorstep. The broken sounds and special effects of this sensual music is about those broken kids and broken homes and broken spirits and broken dreams and broken humanity in all of us in USA. Not long after that left USA for good and never looked back! Guys keep making America great again and again but you shall never bring back one of those kids and never bring back their homes and their dreams. This song is about when all meaning departs from life, those kids were a large part of meaning in USA, and yet the departed shall never return and by that reasoning no meaning would ever return back to USA.

I love the message that a french black dude who sells ice cream and doesnt speak english at all can be friends with a hardcore but sensitive killer and a little girl and they all connect through a cone of ice cream. They keep saying that things are changing in the world and that nothing makes sense anymore. Also true with the information about how ice cream has calcium and is healthy, reaching the conclusion that ice cream has lot of sugar and not healthy anymore at the end and nobody wants it at the last scene, not Ghost Dog, not Pearline. I think the movie is brilliant in so many ways. I remember i've seen it in 2001 and was so impacted by it i even change my email and messenger adress to GhostDog 😂

There are 2 versions of Ghost Dog OST (Wikipedia), US version includes the tune as background in the track 'Samurai Showdown', same track is on the JAP version as 'Samurai Showdown (Raise Your Sword)', however the instrumental is available only on the JAP one, named 'Opening Theme (Raise Your Sword Instrumental)'. I guess what PassThaRizla said should work as well if you just want to find an mp3 copy via google. Cheers.
