chilwell gets injured often but better than cucurella, sanchez is far from good and must be sold replaced by a top goalkeeper, sterling also sold replaced by olise or eze or even Nico williams or summerville, and jackson would only be a jocker because 'he is not the striker we are looking for, we need sesko who is not available, isak from newcastle a serial scorer or even osimhen, otherwise we will have nothing this season even with maresca.

Maybe Veiga will be a good acquisition for Chelsea. I have not watched him play other than the recent compilations that have circulated the past day, although these compilations are biased in nature to the point of being capable of making Andy Carroll look world class.
The fee, of course is very low so in regards to business - this is a very low risk due to 11.8 million British quid. He either works out for Chelsea or he's sold on for a profit, potentially double to triple the full cost of transfer with Basil.
From a sporting side, it's an underwhelming signing by Chelsea as it is once again a case of a player that is playing in a Swiss league with dubious competition to measure against an elite league in England.
There are excellent young top talents in the Premier League. It's certainly not the end of the world not getting Calafiori however it is another poor look how Chelsea has continued to miss their top targets this summer's early window so far and pivoted with underwhelming, unproven, young "potential" as a contingency.
This obsession with versatile defenders that can play all over the pitch is tricky and I feel self limiting. It is clearly a strength to have a jack of all trades, no question, particular with Chelsea's celebrity medical team that did so well to create extraordinary business last couple of seasons however it's also overlooking gems that play in a specific positions that excel in said position though may not be great in a range of positions. I personally find it another "trend", similar to the playing out the back from the keeper at the expensive of stopping shots, commanding the box, confident in crosses, penalty special teams et al.
I find talented footballers, athletic footballers, are typically capable of shifting positions at an adequate level if the need arises. We've watched Gvardial transition from central defender to left back reasonably well. Is Gvardial considered a world class left full back? No, I don't think he is, but he has the quality to "do a job". I personally find this far more practical than a jack of all trades and usually, a master of none type of player profile.
    Again, I find it trendy.
Furthermore, as I alluded previously, it's a bit underwhelming again in regards to another left back which the club was targeting. Players like Milos Kerkez are playing in the Premier League at a very good level and showing big potential right now at a young age that fits Chelsea's own stated model. Ait-Nouri another exciting, young, explosive left back. There are more all around Europe and yet, Chelsea has lost out on their supposed primary target in Calafiori, only to fall back on Veiga, a relative unknown with potential while seemingly ignoring young exciting profiles playing in their own back yard.
Manchester United for example are probably going to sign Kerkez while Liverpool has been reportedly moving for Ait-Nouri. These are the sorts of players that move needles with a sample size that can be quantified and palpable due to playing in the English league - contrast to Chelsea targeting a player in the Swiss League that seemed to play more in central midfield than on the left side, while having a number of central midfielders already.
This speaks to the seriousness or potentially, lack of seriousness in regards to the footballing operation at CFC. There are needle movers available that Chelsea looks to have skipped over again, for potential and a guaranteed profit. Business over football once again, which is what Ian Maatsen's old man pointed out not too long ago as being an ever present characteristic with the new owners model.
Chelsea had "Operation Olise" that went as smoothly as the infamous "Operation Eagle Claw" did, then the failure of acquiring Ben Sesko, only to pivot to even lesser known unproven attackers like Samu and Jhon Duran (neither of them I fancied personally) only to pivot to Marc Guiu in the end, who may be a good acquisition in the end however it's more emphasis on the business side once again, as at 6 million transfer cost Marc will guarantee the club to profit on the player financially regardless of performance, which may or may not be to expectation on the pitch.
This is showing a trend this summer - consistently missing on their primary targets and falling back on their own short list of targets.
    This is all completely underwhelming.
On the left back scenario at Chelsea, a known target for improvement - Ben Chilwell was reportedly have his future at Chelsea come in to question. Well this is a no brainer given his salary and the fact they're targeting left backs and the signing now of Veiga.
Lets break this down a bit in full context: Ben Chilwell, who was a top left back prior to blowing his ACL, is no longer the same player.
This is my opinion here but watching him last season, I observed that he's a weak runner. His legs look unsure and I see him being unsure about his legs. Acceleration is gone for him leaving him with strides left but no explosion. It's a shame because he was a very good leftback. There was a reason Chelsea bought him in the first place and beat out Manchester City for him. Those days are in the rearview now.
Ben makes big money - over 10 million pounds annual salary in that 5 year 50 million deal he signed. This breaks down to approximately 200 k per week wages making him one of the few last big earners at the club.
For Chelsea to profit on Ben's potential sale, they only need to sell him for about 12-15 million transfer and they break even and even potentially profit a few million based on amortization. Ben also exceeds Chelsea's new wage structure limitations that we've come to know.
All this means is that Ben will be sold, without question, if and when Chelsea find a buyer that Ben would agree to join. I would speculate that Chelsea would listen to bids in the range of 20-30 million.
Therefore Cucurella and it looks like Veiga will now be the two horses for this position and personally, speculating here, I wouldn't put it past the club to sell off Cucurella if given the chance given his wages also exceed the clubs wage cap. The difference with Marc and Ben is fitness and contract specifics. For Chelsea to profit on Marc, they'd need to sell for nearly 40 million quid to break even which is a tall order. Next season however, Chelsea could break even on selling Marc for 30 million quid approx which is quite an achievable feat, especially given Marc's form as of late. This is based on Cucurella's 6 year/55 million contract/transfer fee. In 2 seasons, breaking even on on Cucurella's sale would be about 20 million quid. The point in this breakdown is that both Ben and Mark do not fit the current wage structure, regardless how they are playing (one very good one not so good) and within 2 seasons, it is a strong possibility both of these players will be gone and as of now, the only leftback of note is Veiga and Colwell.
A Kerkez, an Ait-Nuri or even a Gutierrez are quality positional left backs just for 3 examples, and seemingly not on Chelsea's radar while they continue to pursue high risk, certain financial reward style of players.
This sums up Chelsea's transfer strategy and although some may like it - I do not overall, as very few elements I find positive. I personally, objectively speaking, struggle to see Chelsea winning anything significant in the near future given the emphasis is off the pitch success rather than on it.
Just my opinion of course, although I feel it's a fair assessment based on close observation.
Hope you're enjoying your Canadian vacation - I'm in Toronto area btw.
