What an amazing speech! I lost count of how many times I wanted to click on that Like button.
I am grateful for a son who has opened my eyes to the truths Bryan Stevenson shares.
Belt it out, Bryan. What a man!
"All children are children." I love it.
"The opposite of poverty isn't wealth, it is justice."
Just go home with this.
Powerful and inspiring....
So on point. Love the message and love the solidarity. That crowd shot is priceless!
This speech is so powerful that l think everyone should have the opportunity to hear it. I have been moved to tears. We have now the opportunity to change the world. I pray everyone will make a commitment to help to make the world better.
I love this speech and I hope and pray that someday everyone who is under the same umbrella of racial inequality do not project that same bigotry towards another race. This isn't a contest of who experienced more racism than another race. We are all the same race when battling racism and we all hurt equally. I see people all the time fighting for equality and then that same person will exhibit the same hatred to put down another race. That person has now become the fuel and ammunition for the very thing he/she opposes. Racial equality means knowing fully well and acknowledging that there is NO ONE who is "less than" you. When you fight for racial equality, you fight for ALL races. In fact it shouldn't be called racial inequality but just inequality... But again, this video was great.
Thank you David for doing this #2016 #BGN
this is an amazing speech. One of the best I have ever seen in a long time. Every single word is the pure truth, and very well sai, and not so far from my home. Well done Bryan!
Great talk!
Thank you so much for bringing this to light. So many of our white sisters and brothers egnor the dark truth of our very recent history. People are blissfully unaware of the effect it has on each of us everyday. Good people that love me can be perfectly racist and hurt my feelings because they literally do not understand racism.
What? Most white people to accept that this happened, but its gone now! what are people still angry about? Some are still racist, but theres a similar amount of racist blacks to racist whites. WHY CAN'T WE JUST FORGET THE PAST?
That was awesome day🙏🏾😔
Can someone make an abstract plz ? I'm not english so i don't understand all the speech :(
Google events are always much more entertaining than any other events I've seen.
How does this only have ten thousand views?
+Flabbymeat People scared to share? Probably due to trolls like those above who should be listening instead of whining? That...and it's still relatively new ;)
+Mariah Lichtenstern Now it has 29,000 views, it's still not enough.
I hope you guys get band for BGN.
Loved this video!

so this history is primarily a burden of the southern united states which still has an influence from it in their society today. there is definitely a dialogue about this history in most places. when i visited the southern united states i experienced a hostility from the black community that i did not have in canada. i could not talk with black students in the school i had gone to without being shoved and insulted by them. similarly many white kids would walk around with confederate flags in their binders. i think this adversarial culture is the most harmful thing for true equality and cooperation. a great man once said "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend." and i agree with him. this southern hatred between races is being spread by certain groups of people. you end up with extremely privileged black college students in other places in north america and the world who shout hatred and accusations at others just for being white. the same great man that i mentioned also said "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character." now you have movements defining themselves and others by the colour of their skin. much of the black community in the united states comes from families who had been oppressed, and were left in deep poverty, with all of the trouble that comes with it. now in a society with equal laws, the truth is that most poor children come from poor parents. so most of the poor blacks from oppressed fathers and grandfathers live in poverty. so now i hear the message. "i deserve help because i'm black" not "i deserve help because i am condemned to poverty for my lineage." poor white people, poor hispanics and natives often come from families with poor parents. instead of focusing on the general social inequality which hurts everyone born into poverty, the focus is on "i'm black, you're white, apologize to me." you even get the privileged rich college students and millionaires piggy backing on those still in poverty, saying they are disadvantaged for their race, while ignoring the families in true poverty and lack of privilege, black and otherwise. even attacking the poor who have a skin colour they dislike. while there is still a lot of racism and racial tension in the southern unites states (and wherever the ideology spreads) it is a two way street, and attacking others for their race is not going to ever make things better. it will only make it worse and worse.
"no one was talking about race" .. yes of course, this is the way it should be. no one should care about race - because most of the real problem is poverty and the social groups people grow up in.
Thank you
But it's fun to be racist once in a while.
Btw, am I the only person who thinks that Asians are more racist than white people?
+Radi Bear (Radioactive TeddyBear) They are, objectively, the most racist race haha. And everyone condescendingly caters to them.
Thingsandstuff but they don't act out their racism, they usually just joke about it.
Radi Bear Changing the Star Wars poster to cater to them is just retarded. It's just the start of the problem really.
The main issue of the current US society is political correctness. It distracts from some real problems, like crime rates, obesity and starvation at the same time and radical feminism.
+Arþur “Tataarujin” D
No, the main issue of current US society are people who think people are islands, that history is irrelevant, and that economic hardship is colorblind.

Many problems with this guy. First, the job of the law isn't to discuss race, it's to discuss the Constitution. So he focuses on the Marxist inspired Critical Race Theory that promotes the unamerican and tyrannical concept of group justice, AKA social justice, rather than individuals Justice. That impetus goes beyond just the legal system and into or political and economic system which are responsible for the recent rise in black poverty and crime rates he complains of. Wealfare is a $40k bribe to devobe the father. New he's promoting more of it!!! 💀
I saw the commercial which is good enough for me. STOP THE MADNESS.

lol look at dislikes compared to likes
Wow, this video is really powerful, and that's coming from someone with an incredibly short attention span.
The things that undermine freedom. Yet there is hope.
Yo
Ok
How does a country deprogram from that which is of spiritual error. Does the average U.S.of A who has been instructed incorrectly to the very nucleus of who and what we are to be. Or is it random selection of information collected dishonestly with altering shem. GOD knows the thoughts and intent of heart before we or I should refer in plural. You. Can collect more info .

There's no such thing as "Black history month", for race is just a social construct.
+Rodrigo de Campos I agree with you. Idk why blacks still use this man. But the country is still supporting it tho which is retarded.
Wow, nine likes for this. By your logic there's 'no such thing' as Christmas, because religion is a social construct. Obviously these things actually happen, regardless of how invented they are. You can witness them being celebrated around you.
I think perhaps you meant that it was meaningless? Or pointless? Regardless, those nine likes are terrifying.
+Firstname Lastname Yes, I totally agree race and poverty and human rights are all just 'Social constructs', and so is using a toilet and toilet paper... Do you have some sort of meaningful point? Dah?

This is so racist. How do you people not see how racist this is? Unbelievable
racism at a whole new level
What a joke.
stop trying so hard
luke harris say that to Bryan Stevenson
if a change is to happen, the black people have to stop talking about slavery or get them self marked with black this black that, come on we're the same people..
A common refrain. Folk don't want to talk about it as if it didn't exist. It did exist and to some extent still does. Read Mr. Stevensons book "Just Mercy", too many present day examples or Michelle Alexander's book, same thing. Clearly not talking about it doesn't make it go away. If anything, not talking about it perpetuates its existence.
If change is to happen white people are going to have to listen to black people talking about slavery and maybe start engaging in a conversation together. They might then realize that slavery has never really come to an end - it's just taken on a somewhat different appearance. As Jason said, get reading if you are truly interested. The books he mentioned are excellent unbiased works which will give you a view from the inside. And by the way, Bryan Stevenson and his organization also represent white clients. It's just that injustices against blacks are proportionally far higher.
+deirjon I know I know you see a white dude saying something about slavery and you all start feeling offended.. that's not my goal believe me that this white dude knows a lot about slavery :) more than 500 years of slavery experience and I don't see how continuously trying to separate the black from the other people is helping for this thing to get resolved.
Firstly Kaloyan, I happen to be white :-) Secondly nobody is talking about wanting to separate blacks from others. Fact of the matter is that right up to this present day, legal injustice is proportionally much higher among the black community. Bryan Stevenson, more than any other man I know, wants America to move forward together. However any serious attempts in striving for unity must include the ability to identify and address present day issues which are continuing to promote a divide. In the case of the black/white relations lots of those issues happen to be rooted in the past.
Yes, absolutely, I agree with you, talking about the past is necessary thing, that was the main thing, that helped all the neighbor nations and ethnic groups around and in my country to leave in peaceful times :) None of them however is trying to distinguish itself from the others and not blaming the others for its sufferings..
sorry too boring to watch
