Alec was a producer. The crew was shooting live rounds for fun on their time off. Irresponsible behavior.
Wow
Wait really? They were shooting live rounds on set? That’s a major violation and the insurance companies would have pulled the plug immediately.
and you know this for sure or is this just speculation?
Why is their live ammo on the set
Because the lead armorer was a child, a green haired woke female child.
@@pimplepickerton ok let's dial back these type of insults but yes she was a idiot
The video of him practicing that draw looks a whole lot different than what he released months ago. He stated his finger was off the trigger and was half cocking the gun being shown where to place it.
Still shouldn't have been real bullets given it's not his job
anyone who handles a weapon is responsible for knowing right away if it is loaded or not.
Agree - if I was an actor regardless, if I’m aiming and shooting one blank bullet for a scene , I’m checking if it’s a real bullet
I think on a set there’s actually a weapons specialist who is supposed to be responsible for the weapons, since not all actors are going to have training-they’re just using a prop.
Granted if I were an actor, I would be sure to get properly trained so that, among other things, I would know always double-check a weapon handed to me even if it were supposed to be a prop. I suspect a lot of actors might do this now.
@@satoristeve you are correct about the weapons specialist. but these were not props. they were weapons. everyone on set knew that. I am no weapons expert but even I know you don't handle a firearm without knowing first hand if it is loaded.
Why would a LIVE ROUND BE IN THAT GUN?!!! That's seems intentional on somebody's part.
Yeah and he acts surprised, I think it's pretty damn apparent what happened after you hear a bang and two fall down dying
Staff were shooting guns on their breaks, id say what happened is the real bullets got mixed up with fake ones. It was an awful accident that could have been avoided if they didnt more thorough checks on props
Trump struck him. It's payback for all those SNL jokes.
Remember Alec isn’t just some clueless actor. He was also a producer on this set. There had been complaints from the staff about the working conditions and how unsafe it was. They were shooting live rounds during down time. He knew better and he should have done so many things differently. He is absolutely liable.
We get it you hate him because he made fun of your king 🙄
Know way 💯 Alec Baldwin loaded that 18th century revolver? his playing around with the gun too much and everyone who firer and loads a gun 🔫 has repected for the weapon . Only explains has too ? someone made a messed and give him live bullets or the wrong gun 🔫. I don't want to think about this too much but 100% more safety on movie / films screen after this shooting

@@macuarritzimo then criminals would be the only ones who could defend themselves.
I’m seeing so many comments about how Alec should know how to handle the gun. It was supposed to be a prop, not live rounds, that’s like saying an actor needs to make the set is perfectly made so it doesn’t fall on their head or it’s their own fault… same goes for equipment with stunt doubles. There are people paid to do that job, in this case it was the prop and gun handlers. Even saw someone say he shouldn’t point it at other people…. Again it’s not supposed to be live…. Therefor you shouldn’t be expecting actors to follow range rules, otherwise an expert would tell him, this is a loaded real weapon please do not flag any person with it. Horrible incident but I don’t believe Alec is at fault unless he was properly briefed on how to handle the firearm safely and that it was in fact loaded.
He’s also a producer, which makes it his responsibility to facilitate safety on set. He may not have directly caused the mistake, but he is one of those who has the responsibility of preventing incidents like the one we just witnessed.
@@think3rofficial it’s not his sole responsibility 😂 it’s on the armorer’s careless mistakes. Stop crying because alec baldwin made fun of your clown

@@think3rofficial producers aren't set managers. Anyone that puts up cash towards the movie is considered a producer. Some movies have numerous producers. He just happens to be a producer and actor on the set. I sure a lawyer can get money from him if he knew that dangerous acts were taken place and didn't do anything. Criminal charges seem to be beyond realistic.
Glad he admitted to cocking the gun, this directly goes against him saying to millions that he didn't do so.
Why would it matter?
There is no reason for a real bullet to be anywhere near the set....ever. hes an actor not a gun special nor was it his responsibility in that moment. This is truly sad and someone should be held responsible. My guess would be starting with who supplied the bullet and so on.

Negligence and poor work environment from the sounds of it. Being a producer and ultimately the one who was in possession of the firearm seems like he’s fully responsible for what happens his set.
If I point a gun at someone, I intend to do harm. It is the gun user’s responsibility to KNOW that gun is cold. I have never in my life, not one time, took a firearm in my hands without checking the load. So NO, it couldn’t have been me. I honestly believe this to be an accident, but purely negligent and irresponsible.
No it couldn't have been me actually.
Exactly! I do not understand people comments about he is a murderer or etc. They should think about who did it and why. It is not his fault and gun was not his responsibility, plus they are in a set. He does not have to be a gun expert as an actor. May be he does not know anything about. Personally I do not know anything about a guns. I would trust the person who gave it to me if I was acting.

Who loaded the gun?
Alec - "I never shot the gun. I pulled the trigger back and released it."
He’s not a weapons expert though, he and everyone else relies solely on the crew to handle it for them before hand. He is a victim here, he has to live with that for the rest of his life.
@@firemonkey1015 He's not even really an actor.
Oh shut up
They need to have. the form that the actors sign stating that they have inspected the firearm and agree that it is/was safe to be used during filming. Sign out the firearms and sign them back in...what's so fricking hard about that? !
Before he pull that trigger.... You Gotta check that sukka
How can they still not know where or from whom this live bullet came from?? Seriously.
Crazy to possibly think Alec or somebody did it in on purpose……
The props coordinator should be the main focus in this report.
Even if it is a "prop" the first rule in gun safety 101 is treat every gun as if it is loaded. Kind of wondering where this is gonna go
Clearly the fault lies with the prop handlers. Every weapon should be checked for live rounds each time they are handed off. When I was in college stage shows this was an absolute maxim even then.
First rule of gun handling treat every firearm as if it is loaded even if you know it’s not
Alec hand is on the trigger in the film released of him drawing the firearm, if he was doing it earlier what is to say we should believe him that he didn't accidentally pull it during this incident?
Are they planning on finishing the movie?
It sounds to me like the props coordinator was negligent in the assembly of the gun. They should be facing charges, not Alec. He was a victim of circumstance. But, anyhow, know that Halyna Hutchins is resting peacefully!
Why is he being persecuted like it was on purpose
Obviously they have to ask him about it either way
Negligence doesn't require it to be on purpose. Anyone that handles a firearm and shoots someone accidentally isn't going to walk away clean because regardless of the protocols on set it ultimately up to the person handling the firearm to ensure that it is handled safely.
Because he has taken no responsibility for his own negligence.
The armorer failed at doing her job.
When this happened….I had heard that a group of workers took a gun to go shooting off the set (target practice) from the very beginning , I have felt that this is the gun they were using….and forgot to remove bullets…..sad all around!

Not at all a fan of Alec Baldwin, in fact I don’t like any of his movies or the way he acts in them. But, it’s common sense for whoever handles the props and gives it to the actors needs to properly inspect them when it comes to any weapon props, such as knives, guns, or even grenades etc. (whatever else they use) Judging by his emotions, facial expressions and the way he expresses concern and cooperation, shows that he literally didn’t mean to do it.
Regardless, I feel like it’s such a negative impact on his career that he’s done with acting for good or probably a long time.
boss baby?
Agree - wasn’t his fault, he obviously didn’t want to shoot a live round at someone
We certainly have not proven it was an accident
What was Hutchins working on before the shooting of the movie?. There’s more to this folks.
This case is something from an Ace Attorney game
Went off?
It doesn’t matter if he didn’t know the gun was loaded the fact that he didn’t check the weapon at all and treated it with respect is on him.
He’s an actor, he views it as a prop. It’s a movie set, not a shooting range.
He knew better. Actors act, remember that! Don't just pat him on the hand
Why was there even ammo there?
The person who allowed live ammo on set is at fault he manages the armory
Why would you put live bullets on a gun?
First of all maybe a little more context of where this is second stupid people did stupid stuff brought love ammo actor doesn't know he does his acting thing and bam someone dies
Someone is definitely trying to take this guy out
Clearly someone on set tampered with the prop.
If anyone handles a weapon in any capacity it is that person’s responsibility to clear and check their own weapon. This is gun safety 101. People can blame a props person all they want however ultimately they’re not responsible for the individual handler’s behavior.
Same goes for EMT medics. If something’s missing from your aid bag and someone dies bc of it you can’t blame whoever packed your bag if you decided not to check your bag before starting your shift.
Can't assume a non gun owning actor, knows anything about gun safety. A non gun owner is ignorant to gun safety. Yes if someone is hired and paid to ensure a medical kit is properly outfitted, and is missing a crucial life saving item causing death, then that is not the EMT fault, it is the person who was hired and responsible for ensuring all items are present. Otherwise what is the point of an armour? Every time you check your weapon out of the armour, the armour clears the weapon for every single weapon before handing it off. You are talking about common sense, when this is about accountability and liability.
Handguns don't "go off", like old milk.
He may have thought it wasn't loaded, but he pointed it, he cocked it, and he pulled the trigger. That's how guns work.
It was a poor run unsafe working place, I would hold the Armourers and producers including Alec Baldwin responsible. I think they rushed to get the scene wrapped up so rushed that they had Hanna G. off doing other things she didn't just have one job on RUST so Alec and Halls took it upon themselves and look what happen. The safety protocol meetings were even shunned when Hanna tried to have them. They looked at Hanna as a kid and didn't respect her work, so look where it got them...a negligence homicide.
That is exactly what she was and acted like. She is the lead armorer, she is responsible for all of the guns and ammo on set. Now that something went wrong it is somehow not her responsibility because she was busy? She was in way over her head and now somebody is dead because of it.
He pulled the trigger He knew live ammo was used in the gun
czcams.com/video/P2tRXaapAus/video.html
The armorer wasn't present, why is she culpable? Baldwin, as well as everyone else, knows that it is an unequivocal violation of all standing safety protocols, to receive a gun from anyone but the ordnance crew. He was in a rush, the armorer wasn't there, so he just yelled for *someone* to get him a gun. The coffee girl may as well have given him the one from purse.

If you are touching a firearm, you are responsible for what comes out of it.

In every other profession that uses guns, the person holding the gun is responsible for what happens when the gun is fired. You and me could not walk away saying: 'I didn't know they were real bullets and I was just pretending' so why should that defence work for an actor?

If anyone reading this knows or was related to Halyna take comfort in that her death was not in vain. She is saving hundreds of lives. She is a hero. Alec needs to face the same laws anyone else would.
This isnt the same as someone shooting someone intentionally or while accidentally playing with a firearm. Alec was working as an actor and was directed on what to do by the director and staff. He was told the gun was safe, and he may bear civil liability, criminal liability is going to be extremely difficult. This is not the first time this has happened, where an actor accidentally kills another actor/person with a prop.
This is much different than killing your friend because you're showing him your new gun and it "went off". Alec, for his job, had to handle a gun that wasn't his, with the assurance that there were experts on staff ensuring the gun is safe. Whatever happened, still places limited blame directly on Alec.
