Is VOTING for Tier Sets a Mistake??? | Titanforge Clips

- Dratnos, Tettles, and Trell have to discuss voting for Season 4 tier sets. Is this a mistake from blizzard or is this "better than nothing." Should there have been a different approach to how we get tier sets in season 4 including whether or not they should have been vendor acquired.

It should have been an ingame voting system for players that plays the respective classes, i would go as far as put a requirment to vote like played time on that class or achievments for 2k rating or something. The voting time was to short also.
In game is a great idea, trying to make anything more than the $15/mo and max level is not good though.
I love how the main topic of discussion is "yea but what about the balance" has no one played this game the last 20 years? When is any season balanced?? There will always be under performing and over performing classes/specs every season/every expansion. Might as well go balls to walls and let everyone play with whatever tier set bonus they want. Leaving it to a vote not only causes a divide in the player base, but it also removes blaming blizzard for crappy tier sets cause WE chose it.
Another thing that doesn't get mentioned at all is that it's just illogical to have the transmogs be up for a vote too. I bet it would be extremely easy to just implement a ui thing where when you open your tier token you choose between 3 options of what tier's look you want that particular item to be. That way I and a ton of people don't lose out on the chance to get s1 transmog that was harder to fully obtain without the upgrade system.
Would have been sick to wear a 4 piece and a 2 piece and also have the onyx annulet back
should have been ranked choice voting, should have split between pvp and pve (potentially m+ and raid split as well), and should have had votes been done on character to determine class vote.
Coming into this I was like "yeah this is so sick" but then seeing the division it all caused made me ultimately wish this wasn't up to a vote

i still dont entirely get why they couldn't just come up with new set bonuses or let peeps choose to any of the 3 sets
If they made it where you could purchase your own tier set bonus. Would you want it where you could get only 1 set of your choosing, or 2 set of 2 tiers, because I feel like that would be insanely fun.
I think voting for something like this was just a bad idea honestly. I'll be really curious how many of these polls end up with the winner having
IMO it’s nuts you get a vote for every toon you have thats level 10 and up for every class/spec. Seems like they should have limited the votes to lvl 70 characters of the specific class/spec being voted on.
I saw it and like everyone else thought it was a cool idea.
I went through every spec I play on every class, but you can tell that people aren't voting for what seems fun.
Obviously fun is subjective sure, but im pretty familiar with most classes and specs and so many votes in the last lead just where not very exciting to me.
I didn't play s2 much at all, and I wouldn't remember what tier sets were strong in particular. But I assume people just voted for "whatever did statistically best for them at x time for y activity". Which is a sad reminder of how focused so many of the community are on performance over fun and fantasy of their spec and class.
I keep thinking everyone keeps forgetting the "we are going to balance" part. I really do not see if they have all the tier sets being open be worth the work because once the smart people figure it out everyone is just going to roll with what they save and all the work be only enjoyed by a ultra small group.
The problem is that most if not all of these set bonuses are so different in how they work and the type of bonus they provide that they're pretty much impossible to balance against each other. For example: Prot Paladin S1 bonus is a 6% versatility buff for you and another player, tied to Avenger Shield and a 5% parry buff, tied to Hammer of the Righteous, S2 is a heal tied to Avenger's shield and additional Avenger Shield resets and heals tied to Judgment, and S3 is a clunky damage reduction buff tied to judgment and Consecration and a damage proc that's tied to the consecration from the 2P. Those effects are pretty much impossible to balance in such a way that they're appropriate for both M+ and raiding. Not to mention that some players are vehemently opposed to the S3 bonus because it's clunky to have so much power tied to a ground effect when so much requires you to move.
The S2 tier set for BM is by far the best for raid and M+, and yet S3 is way ahead because people are conflating the power that came with the S3 spec tree talent rework with the tier set

i salute the democratic idea, but voting for which kind of power we will get when most people will vote for how powerful they were... it can't go well for every spec in my opinion. I'm down for the "screw it, put every bonuses in, let people figure it out, and tweak the outliers when it's live" tho. i'm a mistweaver main, and i'm really scared the community will pick the 2nd season because that set wasn't just the worse of the 3 choice for me, but actively bad, when the other 2 are really nice - in regards only to gameplay -
Democracy was a mistake. I dont want to play another season of meatball spam. Lightning is so much more engaging and rewarding to play
Season 4 is a meme season, just give us all 3 set bonuses to use at the same time. So choose 3 pieces of gear and buy the set bonuses from a vendor to put them on. It's a meme fun season anyway

They are not even giving us any new content. It’s extremely lazy that they didn’t just made new sets that are extremely op and wild.
Anyone voting any of these sets for raid purposes should lose their right to vote.
Elemental Shaman are being trolled. Looks like we'll be stuck with the meatball set bonus again. People are literally saying they're trolling with a S3 vote. Only 13% voted for S1, even though it would have been good for multiple types of loadouts, e.g. Lava and Lightning. S2 gave us a lightning boon which were good for single target and AoE. S3 is just an AoE fest IF you spec into Skybreakers, but it's useless on ST. Basically, just the M+ crowd won out.
Here's the breakdown with 20 hours left:
S3: 54% of the vote (3028 votes)
S2: 33% of the vote (1850 votes)
S1: 13% of the vote (728 votes)
Number of unique views on the vote post: 14600 people. 21% of viewers of the post will be making the decision for all Elemental Shaman playing, with only 38% of the view count actually voting. This vote is nothing but a shit-show, obviously.
I'm okay with tier set voting. The last season should always be a clownfiesta. That is why the last season of each expansion is usually the most fun.
It’s better to have a vote then not have a vote and just have blizzard choose. It’s a democracy. Nice thing is people can actually see what tier sets are coming so they can know what they can play

I hate how they are taking tiers we already played for 6 months and giving it to us again just at higher IL and calling it "fresh new content" when all this is, is a bunch of old content we already did marketed as new content, when its just a repeat of what we already have.
Its a minimal effort season so they can put forward more effort towards the next expac. The other option you have is continuing the current season for over a year, as has been the case since wow came out. The content drought at the end of expacs is fucking dog shit and a fated season is absolutely an amazing solution to a content drought.
