I could watch Jim all day. We strive to be like him. Thanks for sharing!
Pete you could do a 12 hours minnie series on Jim and still just scratch the surface on all of his knowledge. I appreciate you for bringing him and his life to us. And I want to thank Jim for being so generous with his knowledge and willingness to share it so freely. God bless you and yours. And of course Jim as well. Thank you.
That's the truth! We are planning on the first course being 10-12hrs, good call. Jim called me yesterday and he's enjoyed watching the videos also, he looks forward to seeing them again years from now ( pretty cool ) . Jim has been a mentor for me and I only wish to show others what he has done for me 🙏
I just wanted to write basically the same thing, but I always check if someone else has already posted a similar reply. Thank you Jim and Pete!
Regarding the kiddo growing and selling the chard and kale - ha! Way to go, buddy!
I think what really impresses me about Jim is not only his vast knowledge but also how easily he adapts to whatever the conditions seem to be.He seems to flow along with the natural instead of fighting it. And what also very impressive is that hes always learning and seems to be a very humble man. Thanks for sharing this American treasure with us all Pete. Looking forward to the additional info from Jim that you are putting together.
I love his "I'll take what's given" philosophy. Too many people impose their will on nature, which works for a while, but then it doesn't; until the soil fails. This dude is a treasure!
"A faithful man will be richly blessed..." (Proverbs 28:20) May Yah bless your handiwork, Mr. Jim! Grateful for your WISE, humble and selfless spirit!
that kid peddling veggies is a BOSS!
Omg that kid slinging kale and chard! He’s such an entrepreneur!!! Love it!!!

OMG those mushrooms 🍄!!!!! Never seen those before. Great job, Jim!!! Loved the kids, the future farmers.
ChezGra the kids were my favorite part also! These mushrooms were something else, I can't wait to have them again!
Jim have a very simple and a blessed life . Very peaceful and also productive. Good health Jim your expertise and kindness is such cool
Truly living the dream! Such a wealth of knowledge and it seems that the young ones are gobbling up the knowledge as well. That's so great to see! A kid or anyone with too much time on their hands needs to go dig in some dirt and see what they can really learn. This felt great to watch!
Wow, those mushrooms were really neat! Let us know how they tasted. I have mushrooms popping everywhere but to dumb to know what is safe and what is not. Jim is so full of information! Would love to come visit him when he gets back to Florida. I am about 8.5 hours from him. The soil block formula and my soil blocks sometimes crumble and need more info. I have been waiting for you to visit Jim in Maine all season. Thank you!
Great job Pete!! Jim is the man!!

this guy is so inspiring
Eric Proulx he really is amazing! We are going back to Maine this week to Visit Jim and finish up the film work for the course.
This is lovely
Your camera skills are improving, wtg! Jim is definitely a valuable gift to you and us. These vids are something I crave to see, especially Jims techniques for the land and weather. Why is he going to Alaska? I think I heard something like that, was I wrong?
A Mose thank you! Jim's brother lives in Alaska, he was going to visit.
This shows his happiness with his life.
Mushrooms! The degree program I'm in will be offering a mushroom farming program next spring. I'm pretty stoked.
Great vid pete!
its easy to grow mushrooms just get a premixed grain bag, put in a plastic covered chamber with a humidifier. oysters and lions mane grow great this way. after it fruits you can clone the bag and grow again.
What an immensely productive human being, and his idle point is so low, doesn't seem to waste energy.
Jim is awesome
Could we have more information on his soil blocks and germination practices.
beautiful
I love this guy omg
Woderful mushrooms! Ours here is color white and got a sweet soup with chicken.
what type of grass is this, I am from Namibia we facing huge draught ..
What was meant when Jim said Iron and clay towards the end of the video was good for the potatoes? What was already in the ground or added?
How does he keep the bugs away? I’m assuming he’s an organic farmer. Maybe neem oil?
them kids was the best
Wonder what about slugs and snails?
Jim reminds me of clint eastwood
Jim doesnt water, fertilize, no pesticide? How does he do it?
Nope none of the above. It's all about building living soils and diversity in the garden. We just launched our course with Jim.
pete jim saw that he dont use any irrigation system ,so ????? how grown all kind of stuff in his ground??? i dont understand
And they are in an extreme drought right now. Good healthy soil holds moisture. Ground covers like grass in this case or mulch also help to retain moisture. We use very little to no irrigation on my farm also.
Jim always cut the mushrooms with a knife, live rooting in a forest.
😍😍😍😍😍😍
He must've had one gargantuan strong arm.
Livin the dream indeed. Like I’ve teared up a couple times watching these videos knowing what I could be doing instead of my slave work money job
Who is this Coleman that Jim keeps on referring to in the videos?
Gareth Evans hello! Elliot Coleman is a famous farmer out of Maine. He was very well known for taking the summers off and farming the winters in a very temperate climate. He wrote the book “the new organic grower”. I believe he’s still around and the kids are still running the farm. I visited it a few years back myself.
We Americans should homestead more.
After all we are what we eat,!
I raise perennial Russian Comfrey to feed my ducks and chickens. Humans are Obligate Carnivores so I only grow plants to feed my birds. When I go to the Farmer's Market it is with 30 dozen eggs. 15 dozen each chickens and ducks. If it isn't healthy for humans I don't sell it. I sell live meat birds here at my farm. After the sale I can butcher them for a customer but cannot butcher them before the sale. I do grow mushrooms but they are mostly volunteers. The mycelium grows throughout my duck pasture and fruits whenever it rains.
How about me...?
You make money by filming jim, will you share your profit from youtube to jim
What are you talking about? I make peanuts from CZcams... it doesn’t even cover my editing fees. This is a labor of love. Will you support my Patreon?
Stop treating those kids like they're 3.
Market is so nice thing for selling the result of hard work and pack of nature nutritions.🍓🥦🥬
