  • Testing Cobra and Ignite firing systems working together.
The Ignite show has just a small subset of the cues from the Cobra show. (They are also only at 1/10 second accuracy vs 1/100 on Cobra. So when both Cobra and Ignite are firing the same cue, they could vary a bit.)
The Ignite show has the Audio file with the music on one channel and SMPTE timecode on the other channel. (I had to manually create this file. The Ignite software doesn't currently lay down Timecode for you.)
The SMTPE channel feeds the 18R2 (which has the SMTPE option added).
It seems to work fine together.
The Ignite show designer doesn't (currently) have a way to import cues from a .csv. I had to manually create the Ignite cues.
My thoughts were to use Ignite modules for some front stations for gerbs/fountains/strobes while using the Cobra modules for the body and time critical comets/mines.
BTW, I didn't pick the music. I"m not a particular fan of that first song. It's just a show I'm working on at the moment.

Good stuff. Very thought provoking. Can you specifically tell me how you created timecode for the Ignite box? I was just faced with that problem not long ago.

You can download a SMPTE file from Cobra at www.cobrafiringsystems.com/downloadsmpte I loaded that into Audacity audio editor. You put the SMPTE one one channel, and your music on the other channel. (You can just insert 2 stereo tracks and pan one all to the LEFT channel and the other to the RIGHT channel.)

@@cduesman So that's it? I was making it harder than it really was. I already run the PA in mono, so separating audio from SMPTE into 2 different channels is no big thing. Thanks for the reply buddy.

What’s the Lenovo tablet model number you are using for the Cobra Control Panel please…

It's a Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F. It's a bit dated now, I bought it when the Cobra Control Panel first came out. It's kind of annoying that these vendors don't support tablets longer. It's stuck on Android 6. It still runs the Cobra Control Panel ok, so I'll keep with it.
