RIP. I never understand this, but when someone becomes an LE, are they aware that they now have a good chance of dying in the line of duty? If I knew, I would likely drown swimming in the ocean without a life jacket, would I be surprised if I drown? I'm sure the family knew it was a dangerous career, but crossed their fingers and went with it. OR am I wrong? That these individuals just pick a dangerous career and don't even think twice of what they are getting into. Just looking for answers and understanding.
