- Hi folks this video Part 2 of Skelton Park Pit is a bit of a special one as we came across something that was a complete surprise. Also during the video is an event that had us running for our lives. lol Hope you all enjoy
Strange, I just found your channel today, I was there at the same place on Tuesday , Thanks for posting well-hidden site, I never got stung by wasps just nettles. Its a very interesting site
i wondered if you'd find this one. it was surrounded by trees and undergrowth when i was a kid. the tunnel fascinates me. guess i know where we kept losing the dog now! the buildings with the iron grates and the cobbles look familiar, but i didn't realise it was so extensive, and it's been 30 years, so my memory isn't that great :D
Another cracking video . Well done Neil & Paul
Thank you so much Stephen glad you enjoyed it buddy
Agin lads awesome work second vid 🫡🤙🏻
Thank you so much 👍👍👍👍
Hi Paul and Neil. That was fascinating
Had to be in to parts. Looked like a full working pit
Village. It's great you have documented it all for future.
We live in a pit village. Only got the old officers left now
Wife says her dad got his wages from there years ago.
Turned into flats now. She remembered playing with the pit pony's.. Those lads worked hard. Her dad was a tub filler. Pit covered over and a garage now. All memories now. Thank you both
For all the history. Old dave.
Hello old Dave we do try to document history as best we can buddy. It certainly had to be in two parts as it is a big place. I've missed speaking with you my old friend. Hope you are all well. I was also brought up in a pit village too. Take care Old Dave.... Paul
Love your intro, this is a fascinating channel, with interesting topics and locations, stay blessed and safe, your friend Traveller MIA 🇬🇧
Thanks buddy, as you guessed we really enjoy these and the research put in makes it very exciting, Paul does an amazing job in the research and putting the final cuts together making these an amazing watch. thank you for your kind comments and stay safe buddy
@@stomperthemixer1 we need to follow through on what we enjoy, that's the only way you can survive in the cut throat world of CZcams, 👌🙏👍
there needs to be a part 3 when the people doing the digging is there
Fantastic video, so interesting to see all this so close to home! Brilliant! Going to binge watch the rest now 🤣👌👌
Aw thanks Danielle it does mean alot too us 👍👍👍
Thanks Danielle, There is so much history under our feet you'll be surprised how much there is where me and you live. Upleatham and Errington Woods will surprise you too
Amazing to watch and the end was unexpected but I hope your both ok now.
Lol we were both OK buddy just stung multiple times. Thanks so much for watching
CMHS stick signs up for the public, and make sites even more visible to public by leaving blue tarp everywhere, but they HATE ‘their’ sites being published on social media. Grinkle mine is a classic, might as well put a neon sign up
From what I've read that was where the boilers sat
that shud be made into a muesum nice to see it not vandalised 🤞🤞🤞👍👍👌
It certainly should be buddy
Could the tunnel be a works culvert? Or possibly a air caurse for heat or for smelting? Or maybe a water course for draining the mine to assist with flooding and ground water inflow?
It could possibly be any of those things buddy. Cracking suggestions. I will do a little research and get back to you on that. Thanks Benjamin
Great video. Are those remains from Skelton shaft mine rather than park pit?
Pretty certain those remains were buried I remember exploring round there in early 80s and just the fan house was visible. I think there was also a drift there
i cud ere em buzzin abt 🤣🤣🤣
well thats some place it must of been massive when it was in production I wonder if the tunnel was for water flow maybe when they pumped water out of the mine we will never know. but great video apart from the wasp attack hope you where both ok
Lol yes we were fine Bob. It could of been for water flow Bob. It was a big place as well. Cheers my friend
I wounder if the large 3 foot walls with massive depth could be for a quenching pool?
You know it could well be. I will find out and let you know. Cheers buddy
