- It's hard to say just how happy I am with this run. My execution was practically flawless, apart from a couple of minor mistakes. My biggest downfall though was missing every quick kill. Medusa hardly cost any time and Hippogryph cost maybe half a second, but Shaft cost me 2 seconds.
When I completed the run, I ended the timer late and saw 5:20. My goal was 5:19, so I was a bit upset. So I went back and retimed it to the frame and it came out to 5:19! Now that I know how much more time I can gain from making no mistakes and getting the quick kills, I'm still not finished. I am submitting this run to SDA though.

I love the way Richter just looks quietly into the sunset after just waltzing through both Castlevanias in 5 minutes and then proceeding to roflstomp poor Shaft trying to control him. "Well that was fun. See you in 10 years suckers."
This is a dream that Richter is having while he is being control by Shaft. He is doom to repeated again and again...that's why he is so good at completing the dream.
That's a really cool way to explain this canonically, as well as fitting with his character in-game.

Yeah this is fucked up can't imagine much better, but it's perfection at that point...I think I saw one air dash get hung up....I figured intentional...maybe not...with that not being there looked like a second at least would be saved...if not mistaken

@@coatlessali - Alucard is insanely strong, just like his father. If you look at Vs Battle Wiki (a website that uses a strict set of guidelines to rank the power of fictional characters on a scale of 10 (least powerful) to 1 (most powerful), Dracula, Alucard and Richter are all rated a 2; all three of them are incredibly powerful. Alucard is Richter's equal in terms of power. A fight between the two could go either way.
@@coatlessali Because at the time, he was a warrior with the mind of a mage, since Shaft was controlling all of his actions and attacks. If Richter was in control, he would've won for sure.

Tremendous execution on the movement tech. Cant imagine how long it took to achieve that level of mastery, those inputs are awfully difficult to chain together and you made it look easy. If it weren't for a couple bonks here and there (and the missed quick kills) I would've sworn it was a TAS

I can't believe how you manage to tolerate this run.

Insanely good run.
It's a really fun run....I've only ran through as Richter like 6-8 times, but I can clear it in 11 minutes. Got a long road to travel till I'm as good as Mecha...cutting a speed run IN HALF is no joke, haha

that was just beautiful. i looked into this just to see how this mode is finished and i was treated to some flawless movement and beautiful execution, i assumed it was a tas at first but this right here is what dreams are made of. love this, keep running!
Holy shit, I've played SOTN several times, but never knew Richter was so OP
It should be worth noting that the RTA timing for the TAS is 5:20. That's on the PS1 version which is slower due to lag and loading. If you don't account for that, this run is faster than the TAS.
I believe that the best possible time would be around 5:14, really nice run tho, i love watching these. I Don't think anybody will do better than this.
It's curious because 360 versión Ending is Admiration of Clan and in this video Quality lows in the Credits And the Song is I AM the Wind

I love the song at the end and I think is much better than the ending song of any other version. Is like complaining of the RE3 ending song too! Even horror movies have calm pop songs at the end of them; what's happening here is that we flawlessly believe that our tastes and likes are the only ones, completely forgetting japonese people have a whole different way to think about emotions.

Nicely done mecha! I literally only just started running this today (emulated unfortunately) after about 7 years of just trying to chain air-slashes and finally got the hang of it, on top of that getting the quick jump out of/into air-slash which makes me happy. Spent nearly 6 hours just on the beginning of the game, practice lractice practice til it was flawless. Decided to look up the route and got 9-ish on my first serious run. Not bad for a first time i think. I gotta figure out that skip at the beginning of the second castle, and given some time you might have a new challenger for this ^_^

dude record that shit and put it on youtube thats awesome theres no way i could do that my best attempt at a speed run was a noob try at a fast run of metroid fusion but due to both my completionists desire to get everything i can as soon as i can even if it is obvious that i don't need it or its a bit to far out of the way for a speed run i do stupid things like a run through lava for a missile tank and my lack of knowledge at how minimalist i personally do the game at i got just over 4 hours i was like 10 minutes short of the threshold for the next ending pic cause that why i did it i wanted to see other ending pics rather then the normal one lol

How to Control Richter?
That out of bound glitch is so hard, do you know how it works? Is Richter supposed to fall a bit when the camera is in a specific direction? I only got it like, 3 times out of probably over 100 tries.

Quick question:
As I see (if I am indeed correct) this is the Xbox 360 version of the game. One of the achievements require you to explore the castle 200,6%. Is is possible to discover the castle both normal AND inverted as Alucard? And THEN do the Richter playthrough?
+Bram25 Yes you get 100.3% per castle as Alucard. That requires you to explore both castles completely including secret rooms. It is possible to get even more completion by glitching yourself out of the map, too. I don't remember if exploring it all as Richter does anything.
+MKC I worked it out so far. I only missed the save room after Beelzebub. (But I came from the other side instead of the regular side after you went through the Alchemy Lab)
Got 200.6% and my achievements.
