One of my all-time favourite movies, enhanced superbly by Tom Waits' and Kathleen Brennan's soundtrack.

When I was a boy, the moon was pearl the sun a yellow gold
When I was a man, the wind blew cold the hills were upside down
But now that I have gone from here there's no place I'd rather be
Than to float my chances on the tide Back in the good old world
On October's last I'll fly back home rolling down winding way
Scare crows are all dressed in rags out at the edge of the field I lay
And all I've got's a pocket full of flowers on my grave
Oh but summer is gone I remember it best
Back in the good old world
And all I've got's a pocket full of flowers on my grave
Oh but summer is gone and I remember it best
Back in the good old world
Wow. Sounds like early Brecht.
this score is one of the best waits i ever heard! A+
super movie and the soundtrack superb!! thanx for sharing
Will watch this great movie once a again tonight :)
....Soundtrack of my life.
Movie of my life 😁
This is really great stuff, I feel like I'm tramping through Tom's brain, stepping in, on and around things. It must be simply amazing inside there, simply genius. We all have our favorites and Mr. Waits is one of mine... and... well, if he's not one of your favorites... well.... then... um... you're just wrong.
yezz.. this music is not for the clueless......as one Mark to another, i find your slap on the cheek sarcasm and Miles Davisian use of .......space,, and..er..consecutive.... periods...,, well... strangely familiar.....hmm..maybe you will find my rough treatment of jazz standards and my blues tutorials somewhat.....tolerable and a bit Waitsian? you are invited.... cheers.....
total geiler soundtrack...zu einem einfach genialen film!

izlediğim en iyi filmin, dinlediğim en güzel şarkıları
I was honored to a on these sessions: two consecutive weekends @ Prairie Sun Studios in Petaluma. Had a terrible flu & had a great time, anyway. Tom Waits: an American Master.
Clark Suprynowicz Hi since we've got you here, and if you don't mind, what was it like to work with Tom Waits?
brenton adams Bajo? We don't need no stinking Bajo's ! (apologies to Humphrey Bogart's estate)
I play the banjo, is it the same thing? And you should apologize to the estate of the evil looking Mexican guy that played the bandito in that movie, it was his line. God knows where they found those guys. Maybe they were actual bandits?
brenton adams Look here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bajo_sexto It's more like a guitar, another noble instrument. The actor who played the part of the Bandito requires no apology. He read the lines he was paid to read and rendered the part quite well. Why apologize to an actor for putting a spirit into a part so well, it's been repeated many hundreds of times since he spoke it. Quite a tribute. As for the Bogart reference, he starred in the film that I lifted the line from and mangled it. The comment apologies to is more of a tongue in cheek humor than a genuine apology. Any questions Brenton? Also, Ignacio Villabajo is an actor, known for The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948).
yeah I know, it was a joke. And Alfonso Bedoya played the badgeless bandit. I looked it up.
This is gold makes me feel right on
This was a definitive time for me and the New York City scene captured it perfectly. Along with Lightsleeper two films that exemplify nyc in the early 90's.
This movie is perfect for me.
I hope Waits does more film scores in the future. Scores like "One from the Heart" and this are just so nice to listen to.
Thank you for posting this. I've enjoyed it tremendously.
Just damn sleazy cool. A drink will taste better with this. B-)
And one of Jarmusch's best films with an hilarious appearance of Roberto Benigni.
right in the guts ♥
Mükemmel!
Thank you.
Eu nunca me esqueço desse filme.
Tinha até Winonna Ryder num papel que não lembra em nada as mocinhas que ela fez depois.
I love to listen to the 4 mood-titles on the album. it is a shame Rome did not get a mood-title on its own. i LOVE HELSINKI mood.
genius!
ポップじゃないし、売れてないことがネタになっているはずなのに……日本でもCDが必ずレコードショップに置いてある不思議なアーティスト。やっぱりみんなが聴きたい、欲しくなる音楽を作ってくれる人です。
Thanks so much for putting this up! I guess you can't get the soundtrack in the US for some reason.
rip Ralph Carney
