Day 308: Since I had triple positive breast cancer, I can't risk oestrogen contributing to cancer recurrence or formation of new cancers. I've been wanting to get an oophorectomy for a while because I can't handle the Zoladex injections but because of how young I am, doctors are reluctant to perform an oophorectomy, especially on someone who hasn't had biological children or hasn't been on Zoladex (Goserelin) and Aromatase Inhibitors like Exemestane, Anastrozole and Letrozole for at least two years to have a gradual and slow reduction of oestrogen in your system.
Honestly, I wasn't sure what they would say when I went in for this first consultation for an oophorectomy surgery...
