You know, even though I love the Irish, I'm at the same time happy to see North Carolina, who has long been having trouble getting a good football team going, become bowl eligible and may even be in contention for a January bowl. Congrats on a great season so far Tar Heels and keep up the good work. It looks like Butch Davis has something special going on with this team, and they'll probably be even better in 2009. Can you say ACC title?

If you watched TV, you will see the 12th men trying to exit the field when ND tried to spiked it and he didn't make it. However, it doesn't matter at all since the refs were buzzed before the "final" snap and a review took place for the previous play. As an ND fan I say none of us should worry about this "penalty" on a voided play. Go Irish and best luck to UNC with the rest of the season.

First of all at the end that was not a fumble he was down and second of all UNC had 12 people on the field which should have resulted in a penalty and with 5 secs on the clock
UNC did not have 12 men on the field. If so, post a picture or video of it. Or atleast provide a link to backup your claim.
Tough Irish loss, but a hard fought game on both sides. I really don't know what is up May's ass about ND. There is telling it like it is and then telling it the way he tells it. At least Lou poked him with the Pitt come back at the end. May looked like he was going to jump on Lou. MM is such a little big man.

Don't even start about the refs. I thought the Catholic Church was corrupt until I witnessed that game last night. The game should have been over long before the so-called reviewed fumble (which never should have been since ND ran a play prior to the review that ran out the clock). While Carolina did not play all that well, they played better than the Domers, which HELD ALL NIGHT LONG. Know this, it's better to be a fan of a team on the rise than a team being run into the ground.
Not only did I watch the game, I was AT the game. Section 113, right beside the student sections. I don't recall seeing 12 men. Produce a still picture or video of the play showing 12 men and I will believe you. Until then, its only sour grapes on your part.

Yeah Whatever but if you were watching the same game as me and you have two eyes as i do you would have seen 12 players on the field thats why Notre Dame did not leave the field.

I'm usually an Irish fan, but as a student at UNC, I had to route for my Tar Heels in this one. It was so frustrating to be at the game and watch these officials work. So much wasted time reviewing obvious calls.
thanks to all the irish fans on here who are keeping it classy and polite. I'll be back on ND's side this weekend.
