It's so important as a hitter to not go after bad pitches. If the pitcher figures out you are a chaser, they will throw balls in the dirt all day long.
Historically he's a slow starter, I thought maybe that was in part due to Chicago still being pretty chilly at the start of the season, and that hitting in a climate controlled park like Minute Maid in an already warm city would alleviate that, but now I think he's just a slow starter. Still have total confidence in him though, man is a professional hitter through and through.
Astros fan here. Seems hardly a "professional hitter" to me and alot of other Astros fans. Leaves too many men on base (in the top 10 in that category) and has gone 90 games (since last year) without a dinger which is pretty PATHETIC for a power hitter. Y'all can have him BACK for all I care!
Every power ranking list should start off by stating the Astros are not included because none of the teams in baseball are even close to these guys...so we left them off.
@@bobbygetsbanned6049 exactly. Look at Pujols nobody thought he would drop off as bad as he did because he was such a pure hitter but getting old is a mf for some players
Old age is a bitch... I think most Astros fans were questioning this signing from the beginning, Gurriel has always stepped up in the playoffs even when he struggled all season.
I think that from day one this season, the Astros look not only vulnerble, but also show a lack of that winning chemistry. If you pay attention how each one ce;abrated every run, every hit, every stolen base, every paly during the prior years, and how they hardly do it now, you'll also notice that. Abreu, not only is feeling the pressure of having all eyes on him, but also probably is feeling that lack of chemistry, enthusiasm and unity they used to have.
As of now, quite possibly the worst signing in astros history. Hes that bad folks but hey, they have made unreal moves and development. Not to mention bringing players back to life- so the story is kinda still being written. Astros need a shake up in their hitting coaches though. Snitkers aint up for the job and cintron should be on THIN- ice. These guys hit as good as the 27 yanks its been down hill since snit.. Lets be real. Btw..... Yall gonna love me right now. Hes got an injury in his leg which is why its more of a 5050 stack... Hey astros.. Whats his right knee medical.. Watch folks.. That right knee is injured. 6:48 wow.. So many times I watched these videos and I never saw it.. 😳 hes injured folks- watch.. Yall wait. My big issue with snit is the routine. They get too much into the routine.. Uhhummm the 21 ws.. This is compensation. Abreu is injured folks.. Edit. Or right hip.. He has loose cartledge or a slight tear in his acl......
Bless the production crew's heart PAUSE IT...RUN IT BACK...PAUSE IT
Why do I read and in my head is sounds like Mark DeRosa?
He always started slow for the Sox and came back in hitting over 300 in summer
Really hope he does for the Astros but I just don't see that happening. He looks really washed up and should probably retire.
3 weeks later and he’s still seems washed. Still waiting…
@Michael with a few multi hit games sprinkled in the mix at least. So there's that lol
2hr and 5 RBIs last 2 games! He’s baaack. 🎉
@@JplusK81 Let's hope so, for the Astros sake!🙏
I am not remotely worried yet. If hes still THIS lost in June, I will revisit.
How ya feeling?

De ro is awesome

Excellent analysis. In that last (Astros) shot you can see that his hips are ahead of his hands, resulting in weak contact.

Maybe u should come to Houston & work w him & Maldanado…they r both holding the Astros offense back.
He's been struggling since last year, I don't know why his coaches couldn't help him the moment he entered the Astros' Spring Training complex.
He's freaking old...

The real problem for team is Dusty refusing to move him from the 4 hole while he figures it out.

Hey, just wondering how would you feel about a highlights baseball newsletter?
Abreu starts out slow every season by June he somehow Gon be batting 310
I thought Abreu would fit in perfectly in Houston, it definitely hasn't worked out very well so far!
0 HR 4th hitter abreu~
They got him in the 5 spot today. Dusty needs to be questioned at this point
He looks so stiff at the plate and in the field.
Reminding me of Carlos Gomez😢
Please leave MLB ABREU
That’s a serious problem for him😢

3 weeks since this and he still looks terrible…. But slow start right? 😂
