Most countries in Europe have a "system" of play. All players learn it as kids and hone it right up to pro level. They then go their own way at club level. When they arrive back on international duty, they default back to "the system". None of our home nations have this. Both England & Scotland have teams full of individuals who play various different styles at club level. As brilliant as they are individually, they don't have "the system" to slot in to. England showed this today. Individually gifted, collectively bereft. This needs to change. It should be within the remit of national managers to implement "the system" and cascade it down to grass roots. As and when the system changes, it changes at all levels.
