Let's get to the night life shall we. Is there a gringo effect in Fortaleza?
Yes there is but not as much as in Rio. Locals will stair at foreigners especially if you're speaking English, but they won't initiate conversations.
There isn't a centralized party scene with many bars, they are spread out through the city.
For example, I met some new friends and they found a forro party which was a 30 minute ride into the city. The location is called Dom Anderson which you should visit. The location was small and prices very low.
Another night we went to an unmarked venue near the airport which had live singers and it was more expensive. R$50 just to get in but it was a blast.
As you can see the singers were amazing.

Fortaleza is beautiful! But also visit the interior of the state of Ceará, mainly the city of Sobral, which is nicknamed the little princess of the north

I love your content. The music at Dom Anderson was pagode. The club scene used to around Beira Mar and Iracema. The biggest club I’ve even been to was called Mucuripe it had like 7 stages. They closed it and now it’s a commercial market.

Existem lugares mais chiques e com música mais aconchegante aqui em Fortaleza. Andar pelas ruas do meireles/ aldeota/ cocó à noite é simplesmente uma maravilha

Can you talk about the safety of the city please?
I'll have an upcoming video comparing northeast of Brazil to the south but Fortaleza is generally unsafe. The touristic zones by the beach have a police presence and safe to walk around. As seen 6:10 the city area has dilapidated buildings with nobody walking around at night. I felt safer here walking around with my camera at iracema, beira mar and meireles.

In this case, they were friends of a friend but it's certainly easy to befriend Brazilians at a bar just by walking up to them and talking.
