Lyrics
We'll meet again,
Don't know where, don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day.
Keep smiling through,
Just like you always do,
'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know,
Tell them I won't be long.
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go,
I was singing this song
We'll meet again,
Don't know where,
Don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again,
Some sunny day.We'll meet again,
Don't know where, don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again
Some sunny day.
Keep smiling through,
Just like you always do,
'Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.
So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know,
Tell them I won't be long.
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go,
I was singing this song.
We'll meet again,
Don't know where, don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again,
Some sunny day. - Hudba

I just showed this video to my 97 year old neighbour, who was in the Canadian Navy during the war. Of course she remembered it. She started singing along, and tears came into her old eyes. She was 19 in 1943, fell in love with a sailor, and this was their song. It was very touching to watch her remember.
Well done!!
Beautiful. Thank you kindly for sharing her precious memory.
Did her sailor come home to her?
@@3lli0 He did, and they kept dating for a while, but they broke up shortly after the war. Since my comment, she passed away at age 99. Coincidentally, on Canada Day. May she rest in peace! She was a cool chick unto her last breath.
My great grandfather on my mother's side was a Canadian soldier during WW2. Served in the 7th infantry division from 1942 to 1945, stormed Juno Beach, was shot three times on that beach, barely survived and rejoined his unit once he was strong enough to pick up his rifle. He fought until the war ended and when he came home, the first thing he did was dance with my great grandmother to this song. I remember him asking to have this song play while he laid on his deathbed. This song makes me both sad and happy. Sad because it is a beautiful and powerful song, but it reminds me of a truly great man that I wish I knew better. But, it makes me happy because I know why he wanted to have it play when he passed. He wanted it to play, because he wanted to remember and relive the moments he had with his wife and with the men he served with.
Thank you Great Grandpa for fighting so I could be who I am today. Rest In Peace.
Rest in peace to your great grandfather. I hope he is well.
Well that made me well up with tears. Thank you for sharing and as a Canadian immigrant thanks to your great-grandfather for giving me a place to live free.

Vera Lynn was the spirit of the Brits during WW2 ..the fighting ,never say die spirit that the ordinary man and woman on the street showed during those times was amazing.. especially during the blitz...im an Irish man and I totally admire the British people who suffered terrible during that horrible war ..and this amazing woman cheered them up no end...
Originally released in 1939, ‘We’ll Meet Again’ is a British song composed by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles, and sung by Dame Vera Lynn. It was one of the signature songs of WWII.
My Mom just passed at 88 from advanced dementia. Her 2nd youngest brother was just 19 years old when he was killed in action in France, Aug. 1944. When I hear this song, I like to think that he was there with her again to help her cross over. Goodbye Mom and Dad, We'll meet again.
Reminder that everything will be ok
This really threw me back to when I was a little kid, visiting my grandmother on summer holidays and this style of music would play in her radio. I can almost taste the breakfast and hear her sipping tea while her little dog looks up at me, hoping for me to give it a snack.
This song was my immediate thought right after the Queen's Speech today.
As was mine but this time it effects the whole modern world
Upon hearing the queen´s speech I wondered how many of the younger Brits would have recognized the quotation at the end.

What a marvellous rendition of this song. Such clear diction.
My friends grandmother fought in WWII she was around 17 and she dressed up as a guy, somehow got in to the army and she is still alive. She always sings this song when we talk about the war and she always says “I’m glad I didn’t die before we won, I don’t want to have James bunting written on my head stone!” (James was the name she used to get in and seem male) :)
Wow! I think she needs to write a book
WWII Mulan!
I’m so serious, you need to interview her and get it on video and photograph all her war related memorabilia and maybe get a local reporter to do a story about her. If she’s still alive she’s one of the few remaining WWII veterans who are rapidly dying off. Time is of the essence. If you need help there are veterans organizations who would be thrilled to assist your friend’s grandmother.
I want to hear more!!! I demand lol
Is her real name mulan?

This song reminds me of one of the finest gentleman I've ever met. He was one of the RAF pilots on D-day flying over Normandy and was supporting the American troops landing on the beaches.
