@@homebodytiger Exactly. Marmite is great when it's spread thinly and with loads of butter. But no one ever does it and hates it and as someone who likes marmite, it makes me a little sad, cause they might've liked it had they have done it that way. I mean, not everyone will like it, since you either love it or hate it, but everyone I see trying it for the first time uses way too much marmite.

Marmite is definitely bizarre--I love it, but I understand why a lot of people hate it. Concentrated soy sauce is a reasonable description of it. A more pleasant introduction to it is to spread it thinly on buttered toast, slice the toast into 'fingers" ( about an inch wide) and then dip into the yolk of a soft boiled-egg and eat that . Marmite has various B vitamins, so it is healthy. When I've introduced my US friends to Marmite, they all hated it, BUT they really liked "Twiglets" which is a snack of crispy baked whole wheat 'twigs" which have a hint of cheese flavor(!) but are speckled with drops of Marmite it's a healthy snack and great to have with pretty much any kind of alcohol.

Vegemite, as others have said does need to be lightly scraped onto buttered bread or toast, always with butter. Best way with bread is using what we call Vienna loaf (soft white non sweet bread) with poppy seeds on top, quite thickly spread with butter then light spread of Vegemite. On either toast or bread it is good with cheddar cheese or avocado. The saltiness should have given it away that it should be spread very sparingly. I hope you enjoy it more if you try this. :)

what kind of coco jam is that? I only know the brown coconut jam that taste like cooked coconut milk with egg and sugar. And coconut jam with Pili nuts is the best

That coconut jam doesn't look like the 'usual' coconut jam they have in the Philippines. It's the same color of the Kaya Jam but with the consistency of Marmite.

They most likely eat Nutella with the 'new' recipe. The old one was so much better. Now they put in more sugar and less cocoa that's why it tastes more sugary and looks brighter than the old recipe.

I picked up a jar, read the ingredients and put it back. I'm sure it never used to have palm oil in it, a shit load of nasty grease unfit for human consumption.

@@wullaballoo2642 yup that's true. Old recipe didn't use palm oil. That's why a lot of people boycotted Nutella

I like Nutella, Marshmallows, and nuts in my biscuits, fold it and stack up in the bread. Cook and let it cool down. Yum!

Marmite - butter lots - Marmite thin smear. No one puts Marmite on like a paste, it's too strong. Needs smearing in with the butter. Don't diss the Marmite.

You have to spread marmite/vegemite really thinly, like put some down and then scrape it almost all off, onto warm toast and then put lots of butter on.

I'll eat marmite with peanut butter (that's so good), also marmite with ham and marmite and cheddar.

  • @spiceyboogerspiceybooger6437

I have never known how to eat marshmallow fluff as a kid i would sneak a teaspoon of it and eat it out of the jar. I couldn't get pass the smell of marmite and vegemite to even eat it. Nutella is a wonderful weight gaining weakness. I want to try the Kaya jam...it looks tasty.

Vegemite is heaps better than Marmite but the secret to eating it is to use it sparingly on bread, toast or crumpets that have been generously spread with margarine or butter first!!
