Hi your reviews are amazing...I'm watching all your videos since a week...I have a query am using Alto800 since 2014 because previously I brought Ford Fiesta used car due to repairs huge maintenance I lost 1.5 lakh and sold out bcz afraid of maintenance .and I switch to Alto800...because my first car Maruti 800 based on the trust and maintenance I have chosen Alto..my height is 6 feet...
I'm looking to buy Honda city with budget of 3-4 Lakhs...ca i go-ahead to buy and please suggest me which model is better in honda city I'm totally new to this brand. I aware of only Maruti and Hyundai brands in terms of maintenance and quality.
I'm looking for mileage and low maintenance which is better Manual or Automatic in Honda city segment.
    Kindly provide your suggestions 🙏

Hi, happy to hear and thank you for the support. It's much appreciated.
Honda is a great brand and reliable also. You will not have issues like fiesta.
You are buying City as a second car? Then go for it. Check for proper maintenance and service.
Both MT and AT are good, AT is very smooth and reliable.
      All the best :-)

This was by far my favourite version of Honda city in terms of design. Probably because it was the first Honda city i had sat on and it took my breathe away. Wanted a POV of this version from a long time. Thanks for sharing. Do keep sharing videos of old cars since it is highly useful for people like us who are very much into used cars.

I use the same City but in Manual guise and V model purchased in 2010. Have done 1,67,000 kms on it.
Few things if you are planning to buy one.
-Check the suspension before buying one. It can get very noisy when it is about to die off. Overall otherwise ride quality is not very comfort oriented.
-It came from factory with a very poor paint quality especially non mettalic colors including the white one. And some areas are prone to rusting. Check thoughroly for rusting.
-Rattles can be common too. So check for that.
-Tyres, stock size was 175 width which arw not even adequate. I have driven whole of my mileage on these but when i drove someone who had upsized to 195 driving experience and ride quality improved significantly.
-Check for underbody damage because ground clearance especially for this model was a joke and it scraped very easily.
That said the biggest advantage of this car is it's reliability. It jas never left me stranted anywhere. The clutch is still original that came from factory and only now has started to show signs of dying. Suspension worked for 1 lakh 20k kms. In addition, Only now I have replaced engine mounts.
Service is pretty cheap but intervals are regular. Mostly service is done for 3000 at max.
For the prive that it may be available you can buy it and keep it for 3-5 years and live peacefully. Much better than entry level hatches like Alto and the lot.

Just a few constructive information here : the steering wheel looks to be borrowed from the Honda Civic of the same era, but it actually has slight differences. The Civics steering wheel has a flatter design on its top section whilist on the City/Jazz it is rounded. The flat top design is attributed to the two tier instrument cluster design it had in which; putting a rounded off steering wheel will greatly obstruct the view of the digital speedometer cubicle, in which it isn't an issue on the City/Jazz as they feature a normal single tier instrument cluster. Otherwise, a great review of the car itself, many cheers.

    1. Ford fiesta

    3 . corolla
    4. Sunny
    5. Verna

    • @JRSCars
      @JRSCars  Před 4 lety +4

Fiesta is a good car, tho spare parts price will be high.
Corolla will be too old and boring.
Sunny has good space, will be a comfortable city car, with lacklustre driving dynamics.
City will be a good mix of comfort and performance.
At the price point, you will get the Verna transform (pre-2011) this car had a punchy diesel, but looks were bland and so was the driving dynamics.
I recommend the 3rd gen Honda City (in petrol) and if you can extend your budget, go with the fluidic Verna (in diesel). Be advised, the 1.6 CRDi has amazing power and torque and the steering doesn't inspire confidence, coupled with soft suspension. You have to be very alert when driving at high speed.

No. 2006 City ZX has CVT. The 3rd generation (2009 - 2013) had torque converter automatic (this car)
From 4th generation onwards, again it is CVT.
