Pov: looking up machining processes for your imaginary weapons shop
:c it feels so bad man
I wear flip flops when building too.
Much Taktikal
My girlfriend wore flip flops when using my dremel. This was after me complaining about my hands littered with invisible slivers. Idk what's worse, hands or feet slivers for month.
😭
Pretty cool baby face. Thanks for showin this. Look forward to the rest of this series
Love it man! Thanks for doing this step by step AK series.
I really enjoy this series so far. Something I'd like to do one day, but tooling and space are issues.
Just want to say AWESOME video series, I have been referencing it! Thanks for doing it
My dog goes nuts when you release the press.
Absolutely awesome video series on building a AK from the ground up. I watched A LOT of videos not this subject. And none of them were this clear on the process.
You have the clamped on portion on backwards, the machined side should face the flat. Might be why you had difficulty getting it off. Just FYI
Greasing both sides of the flat helps (actually reloading release (105 Lanolin 10% Alcohol) works well. Thanks for the information!
Very cool can't wait to build one
cool, cant wait to see the next video on this.
I like using the first AK-Builder flat bending jig that came out years ago.
In the words of the Strange one, Very Cool P. Now I have a much better understanding of this bending process. Keep up the great work dude.
I love this kind of stuff, keep them coming. Now I got to go looking for a parts kit.
Would love to see you do an imi uzi build. I did a long time ago but I used a demilled receiver, cut it and welded on the new parts using a welding jig. But I also made a reciever from a 80 percent flat and a bending jig with a 12 ton press, just preferred the weld set up.
My friend and I pressed our flats using a jury rigged pipe bending tool. Worked fine.
NekoGhost Gunner Katyusha best
awesome!!
Lol my girls gunna be pissed about the study being filled with shop equipment
Thanks bp
You REALLY need to get yourself some press blocks, pressing directly on the die is a sure way to warp it. And if you spread out the force with a block you can start in the middle and not move around as much.

Grease both sides. Looks like a cool build.
Nice man 👍🏻🇺🇸
Bravo c'est super 👍
Lindo trabalho parabéns
Always better if the ram is center of the work.
Cool
I get awesome flashbacks of Fallout 4 when watching this video.
Meu sonho fazer isso aqui no Brasil
nice
Even I probably wont ever be able to build one due my location, it’s so interesting to see!
78yr old American veteran
.this is all great, BUT need a way to make and load primers for reloading our ammunition.
That's something I been thinking about for years now and haven't come up with a solid solution. The ingredients are volatile..
Good
great, I plan to build if 47
Why don't you use a wood block in between the press and the dye?
Are toolcraft trunnions and bolts quality?
Can you send me a link. To the tools used to bend the sheet metal
Niceee
Why didn't you put "release" agent on the inside of the receiver to make it easier to remove it from the die?
“Don’t worry about it”

Amigo como puedo compra eso prensa con la lámina para su fabricación muy interesante don de puedo adquirir la prensa y la lámina del molde donde la puedo compra
Dude... Im like 99% sure you put the retainer on the flat upside down. You want the machined part against the flat so it helps spring back.
Pregunta, de cuanto es el ancho y largo del receiver?
What steel grade is that sheet metal of?
The best prices on AK-47 parts by a long shot are from a company on Gun Broker called spectresupply2.
I'll look them up
Great video bro. I hope no antigunner tears smash that flag button.
Shhhhh

It would be better if there were this set of fixture data
I need ak 47 full parts piece
I'd be very interested in seeing the plans for how you built your press. You never show the whole thing...
Any chance you could upload part 3 again? It seems to be missing.
I second this! Not being able to see the riveting process is lame; Hopefully CZcams's guidelines didn't have it taken down or something like that.
Grease on both sides maybe?
You should do a VZ 58 build!
Thinking about it
Amigo día culpa no tendría patranes de la arma que sale en el video la mini usi
is there a difference if you have a 1.5 mm reciever or you just need different parts to do it with?
Where to get this tool
Could you send me the image via fax to print with all the measurements of the box design?

Can someone please tell me the size of the metal
Where is part 3
Shop press go REEEEEEEEEEEEE
Really good series.
I have a question though. I’m on AK-Builder and see different types of flats. I see the difference between under-fold receivers and fixed stock.
However what’s the difference between for example Bulgarian, Polish, Romanian, etc? Having trouble choosing the correct flat.
Some counties used different thicknesses of steel. Do you know what country your parts kit came from?
Baby Face P This is my plan. Buy a flat that’s 1mm thick then purchase the other parts.
At least with my AR build I bought everything individually you can customize it the way you want.
Which is what I want to do with my AK. So I most likely won’t buy a parts kit.
@@financingmysteries The 1mm is standard so that should work.
Yugo (Yugoslavian AK) is 1.5mm, everything else is 1.0mm
Where did you get that AKS-74U poster on the wall?
Don't really remember, I think I just did a search for aks-74u and ordered one I liked.
Regarding the bending die set, what's the difference with the 1mm punch and the 1.5mm punch option?
Some of the countries used different gauge sheet metal for their receivers. I've only build on standard 1mm receivers so far.
@@BabyFaceP Oh, got it. Thanks
I need the design drawing of the AK gun, can anyone give it to me? Thanks a lot
Hey, where might i find this press kit for the flat?
ak-builder.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=30083
I always heard the milled receivers were better than these stamped. What is your opinion on that assumption?
Milled is stiffer but stamped works just fine. None of my AK's are precision tools so the flex you get with the stamped doesn't matter to me.
Why don't you press it at the center instead? It didn't seem to fit good.
I dont recall the pakistani blacksmith in a mud hut as having this many tools.... 😁
I just purchased an AK47 Romanian kit, first off from the photo of the parts kit it looks like the front trunion does not have 3 pre-drilled out holes, do I need to drill out the 2 missing holes and if I do should I purchase a receiver with the holes in it and just follow the pattern with the trunion? Second would I want to use a 1mm receiver for it? This is my first attempt and after watching your videos I decided I wanted to give it a try.
After the shaping of the body many AK builders do a treatment in a high temperature oven, I see that you have not done it, how come?
I do a spot heat treat later on.
10:41 those are for receiver reinforcement/strength, nothing to do with magazine wobble/clearance.
Wrong. They give side support to the magazine. How do I know this? Instead of dimples the WASR uses spot welded side plates instead of dimples. Additional plates spot welded in to give side support to the magazine. I know because a friend of mine owned a WASR-3, one of the plates fell out after firing it a couple times, then the magazine wobbled all over the place causing serious jamming problems.
Bunun kalınlığı kaç mm?
Does your AK Build need to be serialized?
not needed if your building for yourself and or building to sell
@@safetyharborfirearms nice
what size bending jig would i need for a yugom70
Is it a fixed stock or an underfolder? The M70 fixed with the bulged front trunion use the 1.5 mm. I got an underfolder that uses 1mm but its an early M70. If you got questions and are shopping on AKBuilder just call Lonnie and talk to him. He is a great guy and a wealth of information. I have spoken to him a few times with some pretty dumb questions and he took the time to explain it. Now I'm a know it all...just ask me lol JK. I bought both 1mm and 1.5 cuz I have an assortment of models that I am building. Was like 65 bucks for the other size piece after purchasing the 1.5 mm. Money well spent.
Proszę, jak mogę uzyskać ten szablon

Maybe grease inside also lol
Monetized! Just so you know.
What kind of press do you have?
Harbor Freight 12 ton.
Please give me layout
Where can i find part 3?

less talk , just keep doing
Почём пластинка?
😅In the Eyes of the ATF🕵️♂️
i"m on ak builder and I've noticed flats with and without trunnion holes. is it worth it to get the pre-drilled holes? in what instances will the front trunnion and holes not line up?
Pre-drilled flats never line up perfectly so drilling the holes yourself will always be the best solution. I'm just lazy and don't mind filing out the holes to work
where can i buy this receiver? and do i need license?
Google "Ak receiver flat", and licensing all depends on your country or state.
indeed there are many ways to skin a cat
Can you not just keep the press over the middle of the top of the die? instead of going back and forth from side to side?
YES, YOU CAN. I just layed out my center and hit center with the shaft. works fine.
hit that plate corner with hammer?omg...u totally freak out it wont out
Where is part 3?
CZcams pulled it, it's over on Utreon
Nice receiver! And also 🖕finger of peace to the ATF
The dimples in the Magwell are not there for the purpose of stabilizing the Mag. It might help but it's not the purpose
how are you
Good stuff bro! Did you ever get my Instagram message?
I haven't. I'll look for it
hi
So, does it cost more to bend the receiver than to just buy an AK? I think most guys are only going to make one or two. I do like your videos, but honestly the build method seems impractical and not cost effective at all unless you form a pass-around club for the dies. An 80% AR build, comparatively, is a lot cheaper for the tooling, I think. I could be wrong, I don't know.
I think I would really like to see a video using a welded receiver rather than a bent one. Or milled? Would aluminum work? Or would it be too soft? I did an aluminum AR 80% and the process was fairly straightforward with a jig, and could be do-able without a jig, especially with a Chinese mini-mill or a very well set up router table.
It's cheaper to buy one than to make one. It's far more valuable to be able to make one than to buy one.
Boy, you have to calm down. You're way too hectic!
Legal loophole to sell guns without paying fees? Have someone come over to your garage and guide them through building their own ak. Let them keep it and "ask them for free money". Would this work or no?
As long as the user makes the receiver themselves it's totally legal.
