    I've been through all of these, the Roho which is super expensive didn't even work well for me. That said, and strangely enough, I've discovered that the angle of the seat is VERY important, and sometimes hard bottomed chairs help much more than cushioned. My guess is because cushioning conforms and still touches you, where hard bottomed chairs do not. IKEA carries many chairs that I find comfortable, and I have several.
    Don't forget in your search for comfortable cushions that you should not sit AT ALL. Finding a comfortable cushion will encourage you to sit longer which is not good.

      So true. The more cushion a chair has, the more pain I have. I found that an antique wooden rocking chair that I have is the most comfortable for me.

      I have had a similar experience. I have tried a wide variety of cushions (now piled in a closet) and none have worked in my case. I too find that a chair with only a very thin cushion works best but for only a limited time.

    great information. For me, I certainly don't have just one of these pains but multiple which makes it hard to get the right support. And standing is very painful too. Due to other medical issues plus "that drag tugging pain". I'm very grateful to people who have seen the need for these cushions and have made them.
    I wish Roho made one you could deflate a channel down the centre, or only inflate the areas you want. that way you could get relief where needed. not just down the centre but to different pressure points also.
    If any ROHO reps read this "Come on Roho get your act together", if we could adjust this ourselves it would be life changing.
    thanks again for this video.

      I have pudendal pain in my tailbone, rectum, left hip ground and clitoral pain all together. Which cut out helped you. I have not felt a intense flair like this in many years. Since summer I had to drive longer than 15 min. I been having to drive for 1.5 one way and can't relieve my flair. Any help would be appreciated because my current doctors doesn't understand how much driving, bowl movement, stairs and lifting has put me back to when I was diagnosed in 2014. Kind Regards, Jenny

      I have pudendal neuralgia and the pain is a burning in the general vaginal area. As she mentioned the only comfortable sitting position is on a toilet seat so I bought one and tried using some firm foam cut out in the same shape underneath the toilet seat itself, but I’m a little over 200lbs so it still sinks into the chair I’m sitting on.
      It’s really difficult to find something that will help so I just stand or lay down as much as I can in the meantime

    I have what I assume is ischial bursitis. The pillow that works for me is the Aylio seat cushion with cut-out for each ischium. This cushion is not very soft, but it takes all the pressure off each ischium.

    "Should sit as much as possible"
    Some PTs said the opposite - to try to sit as little as possible so not to put pressure on the pudendal nerve

    • @PelvicHealth
      @PelvicHealth  Před 2 lety

      Yes, some PTs do say the opposite. This video is about general sit pain, which can include but is not limited to pudendal nerve pain. Finding the most appropriate cushion for your sit pain is important when working on a treatment plan to address the overall pain you are experiencing.

      Thank you for your comment. Treatments include manual work, self release such as with a roller or small ball, acupuncture, and exercises specific to the impairments present. Working with a physical therapist is a great way to get a personalized plan of care.

    • @PelvicHealth
      @PelvicHealth  Před rokem

      For a cushion recommendation: Try a wedge shaped cushion that is a little taller in the back than the front. This will decrease the pressure where the edge of the seat touches the back of your legs where the tender point is.

    Hi this is very informative so thank you for posting. I suffer from pubic pain when sitting, and also feel a lot of pressure in my legs. There seems to be good options here that look better than cushions I have tried. However, I am finding that a lot of these cushions look and feel too large. I am quite petite, 5’1” and 115 pounds. Are there any brands that do smaller sizes. I just worry that the cut out may be too large and that I won’t get support in the right areas.

    • @PelvicHealth
      @PelvicHealth  Před rokem +1

      Hello! We would suggest looking at the sites for each of these, as they might have options on their websites for smaller sizes! These are our current recommendations for sit cushions, it really depends on the specific area you are looking for relief. The purple cushions tend to fit in a car seat or a regular chair, which might help you making sure you still get the support you need!

    Sometimes, perhaps due to lack of nutrient absorbtion or something, my skin of the hip due to bone contact gets hurt and have a pimple of sort, so that pains. I think i need to start using a pillow on my chair. I dont have pain on anus or any bone, but the skin of the hips gets weak sometimes around this time of the year (october perhaps)

    • @PelvicHealth
      @PelvicHealth  Před 10 měsíci

      It is a good idea to have a nice cushion year round to distribute our body weight evenly. Our favorite cushions tend to do a better job of that than a standard bed pillow. It's also a great idea to take frequent breaks from sitting for pressure relief even if that means just standing up, stretching, and sitting back down again every 20 minutes or so.

      Hello! If your doctor has advised you to limit your calcium, we recommend you follow the information given to you from your prescribing physician. Without a full examination, it is difficult for us to say what is the cause of your sit pain. If you continue to have pain + symptoms in this area, we highly recommend you see a pelvic floor physical therapist.
