I've had the great honor of meeting bassist Steve Rodby during his London appearances with The Impossible Gentlemen and even got a picture with him too & i can honestly tell you that he's one of the nicest musicians i have met. A true first class act.

How come I can't find a bassist who is as smart as Steve Rodby. I make some pretty "out there stuff" but it's still Jazz. And when I try to run it across to some cats, they can't play it. On the recordings it's me playing all the instruments. The bass player just can't do it. I'll bet Steve can do it. I've been listening to The Pat Metheny Group for 30years. Most guys just can't do this type of material. They would rather play it SAFE instead of doing something different. It's sad. Darren Kelly
