Chikoo: “uhm yes excuse me, I believe I have an appointment here today?”
Then she gets in the tub... nope, I was wrong, I have no appointment 🥰
She’s not only the smallest but she’s also the quietest. I don’t think she uttered a single meow the entire time.
@@sabinekoch3448 She'll most definitely be filing a complaint and by "filing a complaint", I mean poo in someone's shoe.
The way she's just trying to escape 😍 no growling or hissing, no biting or scratching... just discreetly and politely trying to get the hell outta there! 😆
She is so small and adorable because all Scottish Folds suffer from an issue with their collagen that also causes joint problems and chronic pain. It's a characteristic all of them have, because it's what makes the ears fold over like that. She's an adorable cat and I'm glad her joint problems don't look to be severe! I hope she has many happy, painless years.
i have a mixed scottish fold and he does not suffer from any of this. had him checked at vet and everything. probably because he's mixed. but has had slightly folded ears. not full folded
What you say is right but good breeders ensure as less issues as possible, mating just healthy cats to carry good genes. But this is not the reason this cat is small. He's small because it's not adult. I have a 7 years old male scottish fold (from a good breeder) which was like this cat when he was less than 1 year old and now he's massive. Not because he's fat (honestly he's pretty chonky but he's still agile, playful and self sufficient, and for his breed 6,5/7 kg are not that much, the vet says) but because he has a big structure thanks to his parents. His father was 3 times champion British shorthair named "zeus", just to give a reference of his massiveness 😂. Btw they will 100% have serious and really painful issues if you breed 2 scottish fold instead of scottish fold + British shorthair or scottish fold + scottish straight. If you breed a scottish fold with another not folded cat, both with good genes, there's a really small probability to get scottish folds with life threatening or too painful issues. 🤝
With those eyes, the cat should be named 'Hubble.' I'm sure it can see distant universes.
She can see forever, look at smells and gaze into our souls with those eyes. 🤣
Pretty sure she was staring through the camera, past my soul, and right into my previous life.
That is a super cute name but i would be too embarrassed about that nerdy ahh name 😂
Vanessa: Your mother told me you'd be good in the tub.
Chikoo: Absolutely not, my human lies.
You can tell Chikoo is gonna wait until the owner goes to sleep to get revenge for that lie.
I don't know I've seen two cats who let particular humans bathe them, but I don't think that was the "normal" response
The Scottish Fold endures more pain than other cats because of the lack of cartilage in its system. Please take great care. Thank you for sharing.
As someone who has the human version of the collagen disorder that has been bred into Scottish fold cats, I feel incredibly sad every time I see one 😢. No animal should endure such a disorder and I am glad that breeders are finally breeding versions of this cat without the “fold” (and thus without the collagen disorder).
@@Rekeaki I hope they just stop breeding the cat altogether, stumpy legs and squashed noses are cruel for any cat :(
She is adorable! I have an 11 yr. Old Persian that is 5 1/2 lbs who acts like a kitten still!
@julielindholme it's sad when human's idea of cute inflicts suffering on animals.
I love how polite her escape attempts are. Just a paw out of the tub.
My absolute favorite is when Vanessa, always so respectful, calls her clients ‘Sir’ or ‘Ma’am’. Chikoo is just a tiny helping of adorableness. ❤️
@@silversleeper1193 Uh, oh, getting called ‘sir’ when misbehaving is almost worse than using the full, formal name! 😂😂
I love the look of Scottish fold cats but after doing my research about how they were bred I don't think I'll ever get one.
@Sorikee look into the Scottish Straight. Same cute face but without the cartilage mutation.
The older of the two cats I adopted saturday has a Scottish fold head profile due to the damage ear mites did to her in a hoarding situation (combined with long fur). Apparently, damaged (cauliflower) ears make them less likely to be adopted. If you like how the heads of Scottish folds look, check a shelter to see if someone needs a loving home after a tough life.
British shorthair cats are basically Scottish folds but with normal ears
@@Hooperjz78 Sunny and Luna. I let my nieces name them. They are lovely! Luna is a long haired tortie, Sunny a short haired white cat.
Thanks to Vanessa's videos, I managed to give my cat a bath where, for the first time in her 15 or so years of life, she did NOT draw blood! These videos have really helped me up my grooming game, and I'm thrilled I can bathe my kitty with zero injury and shave down very dirty, matted dogs. Thanks, Vanessa!
Fun fact: In Norway it's actually illegal to breed scottish folds.
We need this law everywhere. We shouldn’t cause animals constant suffering just because we want them to be cuter. Cats are already soo adorable.
In Scotland it's illegal to breed Scottish folds. It's illegal here in Australia as well. Most Western countries make it illegal because of how much pain these poor babies suffer.
I'm glad to see her joint problems aren't holding her back yet. 12 escape attempts and such a sweet personality!! I don't think she made a single peep!
While I generally refrain from admiring torture breeds, I have to say that she is adorable.
She seems pretty young, the scottish fold arthritis might catch up someday... I hope not though :(
1:05 “Well my mother lied😡🤬” *angry gremlin movements intensify*
I've never seen someone try and escape so many times that looks so innocent. Chikoo is an adorable little fur baby.
no aggression, just very sweetly trying to escape at any possible moment
My cat is like this when I bathe her. She'll cry and cry and slowly waddle towards the edge of the tub but no scratching hissing or biting. I always feel so bad for bathing her lol because she is so well behaved but doesn't enjoy it.
@@rokukou my cats were like this and tbh i found bathing them got a LOT easier when i was like fuck it and got in the tub with them. you can block em in with your legs & at least mine seem to take comfort by me being in there too, rather than escaping they come and try to get me to hold them lol just smth that could be worth trying
@@nckojita I did that last time I bathed her loll !! It is a lot easier tbh and she was a lot more comfortable when she was in my lap she even purred and made biscuits in the bath.
I remember when I bathed my cat noodle. She is very small, but she is 14. She was so sweet, she just gazed over the tub, sadly waiting to be free. She didn’t bite, hiss, or scratch, she didn’t even attempt to escape
Poor Chikoo, the expression on her sweet face, says, "I have seen/experienced the most horrific depth of (beep)"
Pretty kitty.
You can tell that cat was raised by people who really loved her. Cats only have a reputation for being aloof and volatile because they were neglected or otherwise not given enoigh enrichment and positive reinforcement.
Even tho Chiku doesn't particularly enjoy the grooming, she doesn't tear a face off or scream her lungs out because she's never been given a reason to distrust humans.
That's a rare and lucky cat!
1:24 the scared face is priceless 😂😂😂
The facial expressions in the happy hoodie crack me up every time😂
The way she removed the happy hoodie :) Tiny but feisty creature, also the way she ran mid air as you held her at escape attempt #6 was priceless
She may have been feisty for her nails for good reason, Folds don't just stop at the ears, their cartilege forms incorrectly all throughout their body so their joints are usually arthritic/painful even from a young age, so having her paws moved around may have been painful.
Vanessa, have you thought of buying a cat dryer box? Its much quieter and the animal can be dried with warm or cool air. You just stick them in it and turn it on. They're often white with a clear door. Much less stressful for the cat. You can dry a small dog in there too. I'm not sure how long it would take to dry them though.
The running escape counter was as adorable as the cat.
Her eyes are so big and beautiful! One of the most adorable cat faces I’ve ever seen! ❤❤❤
She does discuss Scottish folds, I believe on her other channel, where she recommends the Scottish straight instead.
EDIT: It's on this channel. The video is "I see you have chosen death". Unfortunately, many people find Scottish folds cute and keep buying them, so they keep getting bred. It's really sad :(
It's the same thing with bulldogs, especially French Bulldogs. I wish so much people would stop breeding cats and dogs with poor qualities of life/obvious defects just for "cuteness". 😢
Scottish Straights also have some of the same defects, it's just not as bad as the Folds. This does depend on the cat's ancestry though, for example if one of the parents is a Fold, the problems might be more pronounced than if one of the grandparents is a Fold. I only learned this after getting a Scottish Straight myself, but fortunately both parents of my cat are Straights and are healthy, indoor-outdoor cats.
@@xFirebird925x good breeders ensure as less issues as they can, mating just healthy cats to carry good genes so they can grow healthy generation for the future (but unfortunately there are so many bad breeders, which I would call just "animal sellers". I have a 7 years old male scottish fold (from a good breeder). He's pretty chonky but he's still agile, playful and self sufficient, and for his breed 6,5/7 kg are not that much, as the vet says. He's healthy 100%. His father was 3 times champion British shorthair named "zeus", just to give a reference of his massiveness . Anyway, actually they will 100% have serious and really painful issues if the puppies come from 2 scottish fold (it's illegal in many countries) instead of scottish fold + British shorthair or scottish fold + scottish straight (still legal in many countries). If the puppies come from a scottish fold + another not folded cat, both with good genes, there's a really small probability (close to 0) to get scottish folds with life threatening or too painful issues. 🤝
Part cat part owl.Beautiful baby.Thank you Vanessa.
So polite in her escape attempts ❤
Whenever I'm tired or stressed with work I come watch your videos and I feel instantly better.
Eyes wider than the galaxy
Literally the cutest little thing ever! She is such a beautiful and adorable cat!
(Even though I know this breed usually has genetic issues, which some owners aren't aware of until they get one and end up at the vet (I've seen that happen to two youtubers). But she is adorable, absolutely!! And she looks so plush and soft~
Wow, people who are legit online content creators don't even google a breed before acquiring one? Geeze. I know we all spend too much time on our phones, but sometimes we need to spend MORE time on our phones!! 😅😅
You have to be an idiot to adopt a thousand dollar cat without doing any research.
Kitties eyeballs could not be bigger. What a sweetie.
As an animal behaviorist I’m against the Scottish fold breed. The same thing that makes them so cute, with their floppy ears and cute way of sitting, is the same thing that causes them permanent pain throughout their entire lives: problems with their bones and cartilage. I’m from the Netherlands and Scottish folds are illegal to breed and possess here, due to that exact reason.
And guess what, each decade their pain subsides more and more. Kind of amazing what life is capable of
Omg her eyes 😭
This is the epitome of "I'm just a baby🥹"
01:17 I can hear the silent inner scream
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
she has the prettiest ticked tabby coat and such a sweetheart even though stressed. tfs!
Chikoo's like "Woman I might be tiny but I can still kill you in your sleep if I wanted to"
One of the things I really appreciate about her is that she is so incredibly knowledgeable about her job, and she is passionate about being the best she can be in her field of work. It really makes me see dog grooming in a completely different light. I wish her all the best and I hope she can continue doing what she loves for a very very long time 🤗🐈🐱
So smol and adorable oh my goodness--
Am worried about the impending joint pain for this precious baby though...
Poor Scottish folds. Giving a cat cartiliege weakness for the side effect of "cute floppy ears" is not something we should support.
These floppy years don't look cute at ALL! for me! It's something really missing.
This is such a huge thing for me. Like yes, this cat deserves to be loved and treasured while it’s alive, but breeds like the Scottish Fold, Pugs, etc shouldn’t be allowed to be bred.
And none of that is Chikoo’s fault. There are still millions of them that deserve homes. I hate doodles but that doesn’t mean one found in a shelter or on the street doesn’t deserve to be adopted.
@@ferretyluv No one said she doesn't deserve a home. Unfortunately, letting breeding continue also fills up shelters with breeder castoffs. It's a complicated issue.
You do realize that the floppy ears were a natural mutation, not man made. Even if people didn't decide to selectively breed for that trait, it would still exist unless all of the descendants of the original cats were never given the opportunity to breed. And not all of them are handicapped - a former colleague had one and it was perfectly healthy.
She's adorable
Oh my goodness, those eyes! Such a sweet little kitty
She’s definitely one of the kittens who lost her mittens and cried to her momma about it! 🥹
…but instead, she got some pie, and a bath! 🛀 💕
I think that's Scottish fold cats may be mean during grooming because they might be in pain due to Scottish fold disease which effects ALL cats of this breed.
@@owlproblem7230 All of them suffer from osteochondrodysplasia. If they were healthy, they wouldn't have folded ears.
@@owlproblem7230 This feels very insecure to say the original comment was shaming anyone.
I nvr heard of it. Mine is mixed with Manx and probably some American DSH, so her ears don't fold, her face isn't as flat, she's got the chunkiness of the Manx, and she has a crappy attitude. LoL. She's been like that since my mom got her from the shelter when she was 1.
Such big, bright eyes she has. Such an adorable kitty. ❤
She has some of the biggest most innocent looking eyes I’ve ever seen on a cat before
A most adorable little floof and purrsistent escape artist. The tiniest Scottish Fold I've ever seen. Great groom of a nervous little kitty.
what i like about this channel so much is the love, patience and passion for every single animal that got their treatments
There are 2 Scottish folds that come in to be groomed at my clinic frequently and they are the SWEETEST fricken cats. They are the first folds i met so when i heard they are usually aggressive i was shocked
Aww, what a cutie!
The best cats try to escape but they are still not attacking you, just trying to get away.
I would hug her like Elmyra Fudd!
Those massive green eyes!! 😍 What a pretty cat. 🥰
oh my god she's so baby
She is just sooo cute 🥹🖤🖤🖤
Not a peep from her ! She tolerated that far better than I expected. Your calming voice surely helped her to minimize the escape attempts, lol
What a beautiful cat. Thank you.
Dude the saucer eyes I can't... 😂😂😂😅😊 Hahaha. Poor kitty, but of course this is needed.
The sweetest little escape artist I've ever seen! 🥰🥰
"The feeling isn"t mutual"- got me real hard 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Those eyes are beautiful. She’s very cute. ❤
Just read the comments and some say that Scottish Folds end up in pain - poor little darlings 😕
My cats have all been bog standard moggies. Mind, 2 died from cancer (they were brother and sister) so I think it may have been genetic! 😕 The smallest was even smaller than this little miss! She was the runt of the litter!
Not just end up. They're in pain for the majority of their lives. It is such a shame.
Such giant eyes!!! 🥺😭❤️
Chikoo is impossibly adorable. A precious little gem, so sweet. 🥺💗
The body is Smol

I love that even though the owner could totally bathe and blow Chikoo at home, they still sent her to Vanessa’s. Thank you for sharing her with us!! She’s absolutely adorable 🥰
And why is the owner even bathing her? Does her genetic condition prevent her from grooming herself? Chronic pain?
So adorable 😻😻
