Vi is that rare beast among "strong female characters" these days... strong yet flawed, aggressive but moral, independent but nurturing, troubled but still very likable and relatable. Just using the terms "strong female" and "likable" in the description of the same character has become a rarity. And _Arcane_ has a bucket-load of them.
@@ariochivTrue. All the characters are so well written, they all have depth and dimensions. That's what makes this show exceptional. You could expect Riot to get the animation, the visuals and the music right. But they also tell an amazing story with great characters and great dialogues, easily one of the best written shows of the last years.

Warwick is creation of Singed how you might know. Lore changed but S2 gonna rehashe the old Signed/WW Bio. WW it's fusion of SilcoMINDVanderBODY. . I know more but I will stop at this that we gonna get more scenes in S2 of Warwick flashbacks. Also we should get conclusion of Viktor. He gonna lose/get corrupcted but not entirely since in lore he is not MAD. He is not forcing change, becouse YOU need to decide or something

There were a couple of weeks in youtube history when "youtubers getting wrecked by episode 3" was almost a separate show.
Powder is a traumatized child with severe separation anxiety.
Mary is one of us, League degenerates.
I also played in my late teens, through university. I also met my gf in League.
We used Ventrilo, Team Speak, and then much later on, Discord.
That game has touched so many lives.
There is something touching seeing a fellow millenial having had such a similar experience.
This series is a Masterclass in storytelling... And animation, and characterization, and psychology, and Greek tragedy, and...etc.

You are one of a VERY few reactors that GOT the parallel between Silco/Vander and Powder/Vi when Powder throws herself at Silco.
EVERYONE jumps right to oh his a manipulative bastard that's just going to use her.
You'd be right, at first.
"Hello little girl, where is your sister?" is absolutely manipulative he's like a predator letting smaller prey live to draw out bigger prey.
But as soon as she says "She's NOT my sister anymore!" his expression changes immediately. This is no longer prey, this is himself in his arms lamenting a perceived betrayal bigger than anything could be imagined.
Because constantly talking about how "everyone betrays us" isn't manipulative? I see so many people commenting this, that since he's not trying to mastermind something he's not manipulative. But like, manipulation doesn't have to be so moustache-twirling. Most abusers aren't trying to manipulate for some long-term game-plan, they manipulate because that's what they've been conditioned to do, subconsciously. It's just how they interact with the world, now.
@@Crazy_Diamond_75 Never said he wasn't being manipulative still. My point is its establishing a fundamental difference between EVERYONE else he manipulates and Powder. He views the entirety of the underground as a nation that deserves freedom at any cost and because he's ONLY ever looking at them on a group level his manipulation is cold calculated and impersonal they are means to an end even if they individually are missing out on the very thing he believes he is fighting for. When he asks her where her sister is in THAT moment Powder is NO different than any of the people addicted to shimmer or turned into monsters a literal means to an end.
One of the things the show does exceptionally well despite not a lot of people noticing is very realistic eye motions from Silco's eye's darting to the upper right when told he had to give up jinx, to how his eyes and expression change when Powder says "She's not my sister any more." I would argue THIS was HIS "moment on the bridge" Vander had at the beginning both coming face to face with an INDIVIDUAL, personal cost and both men abandoned their current actions to comfort an individual. The main difference between Vander and Silco is Silco holds on to his belief that the noble thing for the group AND Jinx is to push through to freedom
I never played the game and this has become one of my all time favorite shows. I only knew about Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, and a couple other details. I feel it made things better because I have no idea who lives except those 3. Silco is such a perfect villain. His character is so well written. (I mean, they all are, but he stands out to me) I can't wait for season 2 later this year.
The reason for why the art style is so unique is that they start with 3D models and then hand paint them with 2D textures and use classic 2D animation techniques. It is apparently a LOT of work!
This is one of those shows that came out of nowhere and blew me away like few things have. Buckle up, this is only the start.
This was one of the few great shows that I've watched in the last few years. The story, the characters, the spectacular visuals. This show was an unexpected gem.
As a long time League player, im very much looking forward to this. Arcane is absolutely amazing and since you have played the game and have atleast some knowledge of champs and lore i think you are gonna love this show.
Best animated show ever. The story, the artwork, the music. It's just brilliant

I knew you'd really enjoy this. Being a League of Legends player is a double-edged sword; there are references that you'll get, but you spend effort thinking about what goes where rather than just enjoying the story.
Absolutely this! I let go of the 'looking for characters' a while in and just decided to enjoy the story we got :)

Singed works for Silco. He was the one who produced the drug Shimmer. Silco is the boss.
Best animated show I've seen in a long long time. Can't wait for season 2. And I've never played League and knew nothing about it before this.

I just watched the first four episodes of an incredible show called The Legend of Vox Machina, which has been around for two seasons now. It's sooo good. The storyline, character arcs, animation, humor...everything is top notch and a true pleasure to watch. You should put it on your list of future reactions. Worth your time.

Ryze is unconfirmed, but I think there's far too much evidence there to say that he's not.
Kindred and Teemo are easter-eggs in season 1, not characters.
Unless I'm missing something, is Ambessa Medarda a league character now?

I never played LoL, but this show drew me in straight away, the writing and character development in this show is phenomenal, and it gets even better in the next act.

Arcane, Peaky blinders, Daredevil's 2nd season, Warrior 2011, The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta etc no matter how many times you watch just can't get bored.
A wonderful show, a shining star in this dark times of TV and movies and a great reaction. Although I don’t think the cat died in the first episode , I think the rat died because of the drug (shimer). It makes Decard’s later comment “It will kill me” about drinking it make more sense.

LOL background...background...background. I'm sorry I never played the game, I just liked the story seeing for first time, so different perspective.
Arcane is one of the best made stories in the last 20 years.
Since you are a fan of League, if you have not watched the "Still here" short from Riot you may want to see it.
I think you will enoy it more if you just watch it as a series and spend less effort trying to identify characters. There are only about a half dozen in this particular story.
For non currently LoL player who doesn't really know about modern lore it's hard to tell where this story takes place and which champions could be in it, that's probably why is she looking. But I agree, people shouldn't be looking that much for characters.
She's probably already finished the whole thing by the time we see this.

7:20 don't mean to be rude or anything but don't expect to see all the champs from the game in the show (actually I'd say it's like 15 champs at best from all the actual rooster) so just sit and relax about what you see, no need to overthink. Its a masterpiece which is amazing with 99% of film and tv over the last decade being garbage or mediocre at best. Still can't believe how good it is.
I don’t know what you are talking about. If you only watch 3 movies a year, then sure, but we literally had one of the best years for cinema in 2023; it had so many incredible films and one of the best years for TV shows too. So yeah, if you are casual and only watch a few films, then sure, I get why you would think that.
