Is Oxford against a reapplication for a maths degree?

With a subject like Mathematics, you can look at the lecure notes and text-books that are set for the First Year Exam (i.e. Prelims) and get to grips with the material.
I would suspect that it's quite a bit less clear-cut with Arts subjects and you'd be better off just getting in first time of asking.
I went next door for Modern Languages and it was all about raw talent and imagination ; thinking on the spot in the moment. And a bit of luck.

You can’t reapply whilst in another uni except for very special circumstances
