I was in a pizza restaurant in Tenby recently and Nicky Wire was opposite me.
He didn’t have the shades on and looked like a geography teacher.
Ordinance Survey Preachers
Had a guinness with james at the phoenix festival in 93..bloody nice fella..always liked the manics...does what it says on the tin live..solid...gaz
Great band, my second favourite from the 90s I think after Suede. Dog man star and the holy bible are masterpiece albums.
Both albums from 94
@@Robcatist yes a great year 😃
Good shouts
As one of the hardcore devoted fans I lost my shit when they played die in the summertime not gonna lie
Can't wait for the album 😀💗💯
Never when I bought (had it bought for me😂) 'Generation Terrorists' at 10 years old did I think this band would go on to release 15 albums! There's been plenty of highs and plenty of lows but that's what it's all about ain't it? Stay beautiful troops and troopettes 💋
You bought GT at 10 years old?!!! I salute your music taste that is a monster of a debut album.
@@Robcatist well technically my Uncle did haha. He's the one I have to thank for my musical experiences, he was absolutely immersed in music and going to gigs and was well known on the scene in Glasgow. Among bouncers and pub landlords mainly so from an early age I was able to see some quality bands. Most I don't really remember to be honest, my memory took quite a hit after the mid to late 90's...🤫😂
@@MarcoNegrisEye GT was my first album too around 12 years old listening to it now shows the gateway to why I think so deeply and I basically lived condemned to rock n roll haha
I wish Absolute Radio would stop putting the most interesting part of the interview at the start. I don't want to have to watch it twice.
Still my favourite band and Nick & James and of course Sean are my favourite musicians.
I’ll won’t just assume your word is correct, I KNOW it is, judging by your profile pic. Great album by a great band!
I listened to some of the "Know Your Enemy" remaster and it is a really good re-issue. They didn't need to remix "Dead Martyrs" though...I like the old mix better...more "real" sounding but the remix is still damn good. Time's taking it's toll on the older artists though...age is creeping up fast, especially when you're winding down earlier at night!. I can sympathise with them!.
The Manics albums have been quite inconsistent , I hope the new album is as good as Postcards or SATT
Controversial comment but these rare interviews often feel like such missed opportunities with the generic questions asked, especially the last question about who they're listening to now.
James doesn't seem very happy with Nicky lol
i thought the same thing lmao 💀
They are two different people but love each other really
@@thomaslippiatt7107 Like an old married couple.
he never does 🤣
There's an uncomfortable energy between them for sure.
Their last album was the first one I didn't like. Hopefully this one is good
Generation terrorists needs to be remastered, the drums sound awful on that album
They used a drum machine on G T.
@@pobstrel really?
@@dave-jk6en unfortunately yes :( aside of that, it's excellent album
Only Damn Dog had acoustic drums. They mention why on the Generation Terrorists track by track.
“Lifeblood” is my second fave album of theirs behind “TIMTTMY”
It's my least favorite, I played it a few times then gave it away
It's an underrated album I think. I play it once a year in full.
Guys what about do some real touring on continenal Europe? Countries like Slovakia, Austria, Czechia, Hungary,... i don't live in the UK anymore, so it would be hard to catch you up when you're not touring outside of Ireland and UK...
