In the first days of 2017, a mysterious online player defeated dozens of top professionals on go sites in Asia. “Master” - the latest version of the AlphaGo AI that had defeated Lee Sedol in March 2016 -- achieved a staggering 60 consecutive wins against many former and current world go champions. In this series, Michael Redmond 9P, hosted by American Go E-Journal Managing Editor Chris Garlock and produced by Stephen Hu, focuses on the key points of each game in brief videos, which will be expanded upon for Volume 2 of AlphaGo to Zero: The Complete Games.

This is my favorite Go series on CZcams. Looking forward to the book!
Great, thank you! The lesson that seems to be coming back to me is, that taking the initiative is so important. Like, Black Q10, being big, also was very gote, which is OK if there is nothing better to do, like when taking these kind of big points in the very early opening of this game. But they should be left unplayed if a group could be attacked ever so slightly: the win rate dropped after Q10.
Yey! Thank you for continuing this series.
as there is again Michaels comment abou 53% for black in the starting position I assume this video has been made weeks or even months ago?
Maybe listen to the video, he says all games are evaluated with same "engine" for this video series and yes they have been in the playlist for this series for months
@@Timbets my comment in one of the previous videos was about setting the correct parametres for japanes rules (with katago, from area scoring (chinese) to positional (japanese)); this is not related to the used network... as I got a "heart" from Michael I think he understood it positive and so my only logical conclusion was that this video must have been recorded before .. I just wanted to ask ...
dont get me wrong ; I like these videos VERY much and am always looking forward to seeing the next game...
