Showing VW how the mk 8 should have come from the factory! Those wheels definitely have a OZ vibe about them. Look quality 👌
Happy to hear you like ‘em ❤️
Can’t wait for them to do a EVO SE set for cars with DCC!
Absolutely!
The way you break it down 👍 subscribed!
Thank you!
Wheels look 👌👌🔥. Kudos for sticking with silver!
Thanks for watching Seb and thanks for the comment! Silver deffo ties in with the silver mirrors quite nicely!
Very nice vid, thanks Steve. The new R is as ever, very competent and great driving demo around the track too. The bilstein evo ! Wow
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!!!
Slick production guys... These vids are a pleasure to watch
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words, it means a lot!
Great video. Can’t wait till the Mk8 R reaches Australia. 🇦🇺
Thanks and thanks for watching! You’ll love it
Think new wheel/tyre sits far better in arch 👍 thanks for feedback on suspension upgrade for fast road setup, sounds like a worthwhile improvement over stock. . . pity evo s not compatible with the 7.5R 😔
Thanks for watching and the kind words!! For fast road, I think it’s the best setup of you want to enjoy lowing, better handling and great ride quality.
EVO S is essentially a B14 kit (slightly different, but very similar). So if you go B14, you can enjoy similar as this!
@@RegalAutosport Cheers Ash thanks for the advice, will definitely consider the upgrade. . I noticed you fitted B14's to a 7.5R Estate last year and spotted from your comment they were also installed on your in-house 7R 👍
Another great video. I ALWAYS look forward to your next project. Good stuff sir.
Thanks for watching again and your kind words
Great vid, really like the way it looks now just a shame VW couldn’t have done that to start with. 👍🏻
So it can get even more complaints that it cost too much?
Thanks For watching Nik and your kind words ❤️❤️
And one more thing the 19" Estoril with Bridgestone only weight 19kg aswell!, that is pretty sick.. :). My aftermark wheels is the same weight as yours new ;)
Cant wait for US release!
Estimated release, Q4 as a 2022.
Gonna be WILD
Looking good.
Thanks!!
What is the backing track in the video? Car is looking good 👍
Thanks Gavin! The song will be something from epidemic sound
The fitment is insane 😎 . Those are all the same spec wheels and Does it have any spacers on it ?
No spacers, just correct fitment!
Awesome Video!, seems crazy fast on track with the stock whhels and just Suspension!. Great drive!, what tire pressure did you have?... :)
Thanks again for watching and your kind words! We were running 38 PSI hot. From a tyre POV the pressure is needed to support it, as the tyre is quite weak but from a footprint POV is not optimal.
But that's the trade off you have when you use a tyre that's not meant for track, on the track, haha!
@@RegalAutosport 38 is Pretty Perfect i think with these tires!. I was running 52 PSI hot first event.. That was Crazy ;)
Last one i had 29Bar Cold, and that is like 35 Hot :)...
Love the car I prefer the standard wheels though 👌🏽
Thanks David! The stock wheels sure do look great

So satisfying!
Any idea if these are much different to the older B14 design internally? I can see they’ve had a make over externally but am wondering how they compare to the B14’s in both ride and handling characteristics.
I’ve got a mk7 and am interested in fitting some Bilstein’s to my car but have no idea whether to go with the B12 pro kit, or the B14 / Evo S coilovers so would like to know the difference in ride and handling between those three.
Mine is a daily driver only, no track work for me so improved handling with minimally sacrificed ride comfort is essential!
Great in depth review by the way, keep up the good work lads 👍
Thanks for the comment Alex, the 'EVO' series is completely different to the 'B' series of suspension in terms of construction and intended use. e.g. B14 vs EVO S, B14 is firmer whereas EVO S is closer to stock ride quality. Then if you want a track suspension, they have the 'T' range, which is yet to be released across all models.
If it's a daily driver, EVO S will be the one.
@@RegalAutosport thanks so much for your reply! Sounds like the EVO S is the one I need to start saving towards then 👍
Which Bilstein would be optimal comfort for the 2017 BMW F25?

The front brakes, are these 4 pistons (2 pistons for the front of the disk and 2 for the back of the disk)?
These are a single piston I think with 360mm disk, they are pretty big!!
@@RegalAutosport Could you check? I hear all kinds of stuff, from single, dual to 4 pistons in total. Maybe show it in a video, you would be the first and I imagine a lot of people who want to track it, want to know. Thx!
For sure! We can take a look 😊
Hi your expert advice please. What Bilstein suspension setup would improve the rather flaccid disconnected mk7 tsi1.4 please ?
Hey! Depends on what your use case is really… if you are using for road only then B14. Best thing to do is pick up the phone or email us, and a performance specialist can talk you through the options 👌
@@RegalAutosport thank you !
Would 18 Inch Wheels still clear those Front Axle Brakes on the 8R?
Yea! Stock wheels are 18”
@@RegalAutosport I see. I would've gone for some Protrack One Wheels in 9x18 then with some 245/40/18 on to be perfectly honest with you.
What is the EVO S reference for Golf R Mk8? Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! If you want to learn more about the BILSTEIN EVO S, please use the contact info in the description
Any rubbing issues?
I am looking at the same specs for the wheels but going to run Michelin PS4S tires. Did you adjust camber at all?
Works fine
How do the EVO S compair to the B14's? Is there much difference?
EVO S replaced B14 on new cars past like 2019 (I think). On some cars, both are available but the EVO range will be the only version available for completely new cars.
looks really good, but that dissapointment in the eyes after weighing;)
hahaha! It would be interesting to split the tyres from the wheels and figure out what the weight difference is on these parts
DCC mode still can use??
Our car does not come with DCC, although, if you want to retain, you can contact a performance specialist below:

If this EVO S kit is similar to the B14 coilover kit are the spring rates different? Also, if both the B14 and EVO S are closely related are the springs and other suspension components interchangeable? I'm currently running the B14 kit on my MK7.5 GTI was wondering if its possible that the EVO S springs can possibly fit onto the B14 kit?
The damper construction is very different, you would need to speak to BILSTEIN about inter kit part compatibility
Looking through the TUV documents for B14 and EVO S, the EVO S uses 10% lighter springs in front, but essentially the same springs in the rear. The internal construction of the fronts is indeed completely different; EVO S is a twin-tube while B14 is monotube. EVO S is still monotube in the rear though. EVO S also lowers about 5mm less front and rear than B14.
Never understood how people can "upgrade" wheels and not opt for Volks or Gram Lights. You'd have a bigger wheel that is stronger and much less weight.
Not everyone likes Crocs
why can't the EVO SE fit?
Hey! Thanks for the comment. The BILSTEIN EVO SE is for OE electric damping cars only
@@RegalAutosport hmmm but the Bilstein website says the EVO SE is incompatible with my MK7 Golf R but the EVO S is. my car has DCC. 🤷♂️
If that’s the case, it’s best to speak to a performance specialist by using the contact info in the description - they’ll be able to find the right kit for you
