- This week we got away to Walnut Tree Farm CL in the heart of Norfolk and we liked it a lot!
Hard Standing, Full Service, 16amp EHU, Honesty Shop, Super Showers and just a short walk from the village pubs, shops, post office and butchers.
It's set just off of the A47 near Dereham in Norfolk and it's an ideal base for exploring the area.
See their website below.

CL's are the reason we keep our membership going, love 'em 👍
Hi Steve, completely understandable and worth the fee just for access to the CL network. We like the individuality and personal touches that they offer. Thanks for watching. ATB, Helen & Dave
What a super site. Thank you as always great video
Thank you Sandra for watching. Nice little CL, better than the average we reckon. ATB, Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave what a great site it looks lovely and peaceful and great to see a proper family run site and one where there is a lot of pride and efforts to make everyone comfortable
Swanton Morley looks a lovely place and worth a visit I bet it’s got lots of independent shops which are lovely to browse around the food all looked great as well I wouldn’t blame you if you went back for new year!
Ps hope you feel much better soon Helen
Thanks Daniel, it was just as you have described and we had a great stay. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
That breakfast looked delicious 😋😋 lovely site too xx
Hi again Julie, the brekkie was really good and we had a nice stay there. Thanks, Helen & Dave
What a lovely site.... and not too far away. We're looking for New Year too to go away for our first trip in our new van... Great review thank you...
Hi Colin, we are going to keep a close eye on the weather and see where we go. Hope you have a good one, wherever you end up. Thanks very much for watching. ATB, Helen & Dave
So close to home but still love watching the vlog. 👍
Nowhere quite like Norfolk, the wonder county. Thanks for watching, hope you're well. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Looks a lovely site, DAVE Nice places to eat 👍
Ideal Ronnie, especially this time of year! See you soon (need some tips lol) Helen & Dave
Hi nice review 👍 site looks good 👌 Glyn
It really is Glyn, thanks very much for watching. ATB, Helen & Dave
Well done on a great review ..really useful
Thanks very much Dan, we appreciate you watching and your feedback. Take care Helen & Dave
We are here now, our pitch is Herdwick which I believe is the one remaining for NYE. Lovely site we bought the Barsham beers, sweets, granola, seville marmalade & Colombian ground coffee from their honesty shop. Fab❤ Will definitely be coming back to this CL again. Thanks to you both for posting this lovely site. ❤
Hello Adriane, what a coincidence! You've gone the whole hog on the honesty shop then lol. What are the beers like, we were tempted! It's a great little CL isn't it. Glad you're enjoying too and thanks very much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Best wishes Helen & Dave
My partner really enjoyed the beers , a nod to Christmas as its called spicy old santa and we've just come back from Tesco Extra where he's bought 'your' Ghost Ship beer as he's never tried it before! 😊
I used to get the same flicker from lights with my camera, have a look n the settings to see if you can change something (they all use different names) from whatever it is on now, probably 60Hz, put it on 50Hz. Most cameras are default set at 60Hz for the US market, our electricity is set to 50Hz.
Really enjoyed this video, as usual. Give our love to Helen, I understand pain as I have degenerative disc disease but will not stop dragging my tin tent around foe some time yet...
Hi Trevor, thanks for the camera tip, I’ll give that a go. Glad you liked the video. Helen has had one injection and has another next week, so hopefully they will do the trick. ATB, Helen & Dave 👍
Mmm, Liver and Bacon! Bit of a Marmite dish and arguably a bit old fashioned, but a definite YUM from me!
oh it was so good! Not everyone's cup of tea but we are on the same page. YUM YUM. ATB, Dave & Helen
Me and hubby were living at Swanton Morley camp when hubbybwas on RAF we then moved yo Marham on our last tour and left in 1987!
Hi Julie, we loved the airshows there and really miss the place. What did your husband do in the RAF? Helen's dad was a Police dog handler, her mother was in telecoms and my dad was a pilot. So we love anything to do with the RAF. Thanks for watching, best wishes Helen & Dave
Such a lovely site we have made a note on that one keep on vanning take care crack on
Hi Barry, hope you’re well! It’s a great CL and we would not hesitate to return. ATB, Helen & Dave 👍
A warm welcome from the owners and the village pubs were spot on.
They were indeed.
Hope you feel better soon helen thankyou for the video we love norfolk our fav site is clippesby but this site looked nice aswell Happy new year❤
Hello Alison, thanks very much, I’ve had a couple of injections which have helped a bit but I think it’s going to take a while. Hope you’re enjoying Christmas and Clippesby takes some beating. Take care, Helen and Dave 👍
Hello Helen and Dave.
Thank you for the vidéo, it was nice to see you reversing with the mover,i think you should change your jockey wheel to a alko jockey wheel they are very good, have a look on the internet ,once you have try a alko jockey wheel you never go back, i know they are expensive but worth it.
We are planning to go caravaning to the south of France for the new year.
Have a nice evening 👍
Gaëtan from France 🇨🇵
Hello Gaetan, yes, that would have been ideal especially on the deep stones! Will have to get saving up and see what Santa brings LOL. New Year in the South of France! Now that's caravanning. Hope you have a great time. ATB, Helen & Dave
Wonderful review of the site and very pretty. Keep em coming folks you’re making me jealous of your adventures. ❤❤
Hi John, thanks for supporting the channel. Glad you enjoyed the review. ATB, Helen & Dave
Good evening Dave and Helen,
Wow, again, another wonderful site selling local products and with an honesty box.
Everything you showed on site looked like how a site of the future should be 😊.
Wonderful area, pub just down the road, winner.
Nice to see you eating in the local establishment to help support local business 👍
Take care.
Paul and Joanne 😊👍🍻
Hi Paul & Joanne, must agree this site has a lot going for it and the nearby pubs and shops were really quite idyllic. We do use the local shops quite a bit and often find the produce much better. Don't mind paying a little more to support them either. Hope you're both well and thanks as always. Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave
Hi, we also try to use local shops and pubs 🍻.
If in the area support local people 👍
P and J 😁
@@Meggy6571 brilliant 👍
@@HelenandDave
Thanks,
We will be doing that in our new year stay at Cayton.
We think you should just take the plunge and enjoy the new year 😉 ☃️🎄🎆,
P and J 👍 👌
@@Meggy6571 😂👍 Watch this space 👍
I really like the look of that site shame its over 200 miles from me bit to far for a winter weekend.
Thanks enjoyed the vlog.
Thanks Greg, you can be sure there will be one like it somewhere much closer to home for you. These CL & CS sites are just brilliant! ATB, Helen & Dave
Now that looks like a lovely spot, pubs looked lovely, especially The Angel!
Hope you get new year sorted we have, first time in the caravan, apart from in the driveway.
Hi Kevin & Sadie, glad to hear you're getting away for the new year. We have shelved our immediate plans until Helen gets a little better but as soon as she is ready, we will be off again. Take care, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave We do hope Helen is feeling better soon and it's nothing serious. Take care xx
@@CaravanningwiththeMrs thank you, she's doing quite well after her first injection and she gets another next week so hopefully completely pain free after that. Take care. Helen & Dave
Breakfast with a pint of beer and a glass of wine…proper job!! 😂
ha ha, hadn't thought about that but YESSSSS brilliant lol. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
My big sis lives just outside Swanton Abbott so thought I'd research the meaning of 'Swanton'. Apparently it means 'The Farmstead of the Herdsmen' (who knew?) :) Hope you're feeling better soon Helen. Take care both. :)
Ewe never knew that, every day is a school day lol. Hope all is good and thanks as always for watching. Helen says thanks, she's having steroid injections to manage the pain. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
Glad you liked this CL! We stayed on the Suffolk pitch in September. It is great value and the facilities are great!
Completely agree Trevor, great value and a good central location. We would certainly return without hesitation. Thanks for watching and all the best. Helen & Dave
We stayed at Walnut Tree Farm earlier this year it is a great site ,we will definitely be going back.
Hi Susan, agreed with you, lovely place and we will also be back. Thanks for watching. ATB, Helen & Dave
When I was in the RAF Swanton Morley was known as Swanton Mortuary. it was the place all admin and stat anny trades went to die LOL. Arran for Christmas, not sure about New Year yet.
Hi David, interesting to learn about Swanton Morley as viewed on the inside! We thought you might be away for Christmas. Hope the weather is on your side and that you have a great trip. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Thanks Guys, highlight of our week watching your video’s. Just brought our very first caravan a month ago, thanks to you for all your advice. We will be using your experience’s to pick some good touring sites❤
Thanks very much Angela, glad you like the channel, we appreciate your lovely comment. Hope you're enjoying your new caravan. Happy travels, Helen & Dave
Cracking vid guys. Fair enjoyed that. 😉
Thanks very much Alan, we appreciate your feedback. We had a lovely little stay there. Best wishes to you. Helen & Dave
Hi Dave and Helen. This looks a great site and ideal for us to visit grandchildren. Thanks for another great vlog. Cheers Terry
Hi Terry, perfect little site with all amenities and close the Swanton Morley, we will visit again for sure. Hope you're keeping well. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
Lovely CL, just our sort of place. Breakfast looked good too 👍
Thanks guys, lovely little CL.
My Goodness what great prices your parks are. Also your parks are emaculate
Hi Virginia, there can be quite a variation on pitch prices but we thought this one was very reasonable. Most of the smaller sites like this offer great value. We call them CL's (certified Locations) and they are affiliated to the large club (Caravan & Motorhome Club). Sending you our best wishes. Take care, Helen & Dave
Great review Dave and my sort of cl site 👍
Thanks Lionel, nice little CL, worth a look. ATB, Helen & Dave 👍
Been there a couple of times this year and love it.
Carol, our first time visit but we will also be back. (maybe in the summer though lol). Take care, Helen & Dave
Hello. Looks a great cl site. We've just got back from few days away think thats it now till January. Norfolk looks a amazing place. Caravan on drive heating on low. 😢Xx
Hi Keith & Alison, it served us well, everything we needed for a fair price and a short distance from the village. Always plenty going on in December. Helen not to great at the moment so not sure when we will be away next. Snow in the forecast, we don’t mind a little snow 👍 Take care, Helen & Dave 👍
Tell Helen take care. I thought she didn't look very well. Such a lot of bugs at the moment. You both take care xx
@@keithalisonpreston9327 will do, thanks very much ❤️
What a lovely site and great idea for the metered electric. Love the honesty shop what a selection of things to buy. I think the fee was really great value for all the facilities. Definitely one for us to try. Thanks for showing us round. Best wishes H&M.😊
Hi H&M, just down the road and yet a million miles away. Lovely owners there too and deffo worth a visit. 9m square pitches, so plenty of room for your MoHo. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Hi... great video as always... like you we also like to keep an eye on the weather and just up and go when we feel like it during the winter... perk of being retired 😊... cheers Dave and Jane
Hi Dave & Jane, thank you so much. Yes, retirement has its benefits and in another 7 years we can claim our state pension lol. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Oh my goodness. What a wonderful campsite. The honesty shop is fantastic!! Love those beers and the gin!
Everything looks perfect. CL’s /CS’s can be brilliant.
We have this one written on our list already - we’ve no idea how it got in the list though 😃. But definitely right up there now 👍👍👍
Love the location too. The pub looks brilliant and Dereham not far!
Cheer guys. Great find.
Dave & Sue.
Hi there Dave & Sue, thanks very much for watching. We liked it very much and would return without hesitation. Agreed, CL's & CS's are a great option. ATB, Helen & Dave
Nice looking site. Good pubs close by too. Food looked amazing. Did it taste as good as it looked.
Hope Helen feels better soon. 👍🥰
Hi Lesley, hope you had a good birthday. Great little stop and the food was very tasty indeed. Been to Cambridge for injections this week and back again for more next week so plans on hold at the moment. Catch you soon, Helen & Dave
Great site review and what a lovely CL. Makes me feel that we’ve put the cover on the caravan too soon, but agree this time of year it’s weather gambling. Thanks for the update. Tris and Nikki
Hi Tris & Nikki, we need a few more like this one, it makes the winter caravanning much more tolerable. Whip the cover off and get out when you can lol. As always, thanks for watching. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Hi both, hope Helen feels better soon. Although we’ve caravanned for over 20 years, we’ve never tried a CL. We’ve used private sites , but mainly used C&MC sites. All that said, this is the sort of CL we would use. The facilities look perfect and it’s in a great location. Some CLs are just too much on the rustic side for us. This one though is added to our list of sites to consider when we venture back to Norfolk. As I’ve said before, you show Norfolk in a great light and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip this year. We’ve booked Broadway for the New Year, which like this site has large hard standings perfect for any weather. All the best! Alan
Good morning Alan and as always many thanks for your comments, we always appreciate them. We generally like sites, CL's or otherwise, that have some character about them. We're not really up for pitching in open fields with a fence around them, so I think we are in agreement there. It's the special touches and a decent pitch coupled with locality that make the difference and this one ticked the boxes for us. Hope you enjoy your New Year stay at Broadway and the weather is OK. Take care, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen, Looks a lovely CL and our cup of tea if we head into Norfolk again 👍. Nice to see you showing your direct water hook up for the first time 😀. Seem to remember you had plans for the new year, but not many weeks to wait. Hope Helen’s steroid injection under x ray prove successful for her. Tasty looking breakfast by the way. Don’t eat black pudding ourselves but we did buy some from Bury market a few years ago for my brother and he gave it the thumbs up. All the best, Rob & Gail 😃
Hi there Rob & Gail, I hadn't realised we hadn't shown the direct water hook up before, we've used it quite a bit this year and I must say have been pleased with it. Q: Do you use yours in the winter? If so how do you stop from freezing? I was thinking we might need to revert back to the aqua roll with lagging jacket. Helen has heard her first injection (yesterday) early signs good but we have to get another next week. Our original New Year Plans have been shelved and we now need to see how Helen gets on before making any more plans. Thanks as always for watching. ATB, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave Hi Dave, Fingers crossed for Helen 🫰. I carry pipe insulation from Wickes but have only used it once (see my logo ! 🥶) and I wrapped an old towel around the caravan connection point and tap.
All seems ok in general frosty weather as I tuck the hose under the caravan. Hope this helps, Cheers, Rob
@@robswiseways5697 thanks Rob, useful 👍
What a great CL site and clearly great owners. Will definitely look at staying there in the new year.
As an aside Helen, where did you get your lovely side lights in the van? I think you mentioned before they are the 'touch' type? Looking for something similar to soften our van lighting.
Hope you are feeling better Helen.
David & Rachel
Hi David & Rachel, thanks very much for watching. We’ve had those lamps for ages. Think we got them on Amazon but I can’t trace them. I’ll keep looking and send you a link if I find them. I’m feeling better after an injection, got another next week 👍Take care, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave Thanks Helen, Rachel managed to tracke them down and found them at Argos. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
@@twogotikitouring6940 oh brilliant well done 👍👍
Hiya ! Just noticed you plumb straight in with the water , I thought I had to use the aqua roll with a ball valve to do this ? What fittings do you use ….
Hi Craig, yes we have had this for about a year now and it's brilliant. It's called the Trauma Ultraflow Mains Waterline. (see link below). Is your connection the Truma type? www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07V9NHW8V?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzcarava0c-21&creativeASIN=B07V9NHW8V&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.2Z4I00LXFBTPX&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_asin

Hi there, we are looking for new chairs for our caravan. Can you tell
Me the make of your chairs?
Hi Gary, we've had our chairs for 7 years now and they are still really comfy but we can't find the exact ones anywhere. They are made by Outback. Here is a link to our Amazon page which have outback chairs on, these look even better than ours because they have leg supports too. Hope that helps ( a bit). Cheers, Helen & Dave www.amazon.co.uk/shop/caravantastic/list/114RB3Z985Q54?tag=onamzcarava0c-21&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d
Wow Dave - what a find ❤ is it open all year?
Thanks Leanne, yes it is and with hardstanding full service it's a perfect stay in the winter months and a reasonable pitch price too. Thanks as always for watching.
@@HelenandDave looked fab 👍with us being "stranded" motorhomers a pub within walking distance is a must 🤣 ❤️
@@leannearnold8326 5 minutes away from a beer 🍻
Hi H & D, Dave you have really upset me in this video, sorry to say it, mate I take it you like your black pudding, but man what you had wasn't real proper BP, for that there's only one place in the country, and that's a good drive from yours, you need to get up to Bury in Manchester, get yourself on the famous Bury Market and look for Chadwick's, now they make the real deal BP, and to make it worth your while you can take the van, because only a couple miles drive into the town centre is "The Burs" caravan park, and there's a few nice places to visit while there, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers museum, the railway museum, steam rail line, oh and let's not forget that Bury is the birthplace of the founder of the Police force. Now this site real does appeal to me, small, quiet, little town down the road, and all hard standing full service pitches. TC and safe travels, a saddened Neil
Cheer up Neil, it's only black pudding :o) but I am aware of Bury went to watch them play football many years ago against my home town of Chesterfield at Bury (used to live in Middleton, Manchester) proper black pudding up there.
Helen likes white pudding & fruit pudding too but I think that's a Scottish thing. We need to take a trip to the North West so thanks for the recommendations and thanks for watching. Ecky Thump! Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave I lived in Bury from the age of 6 until I joined the Army, I returned to the area again upon leaving, but alas I'm now an honourable Man of Kent (I live East of the River Medway), please don't get me started on Bury Football Club, I had many a great Saturday afternoon on the terraces of Gigg, but then we got screwed over by the EFL. Helen can keep her white (Yorkshire pudding) and fruit pudding, there's only one side of them there Penines and it's not the white rose side 😂😂😂😂, TC
We parked in Morrisons, then walked a short way towards the high st and were surprised at how many shops there were. The fridge at the cl had lamb products, milk and eggs in October, it looked like they scale back once the bbq season has passed.
@@lesbrewster2375 Hi Les, yes we noticed that. You were right though, a great CL 👍
